Lucky for you it's No and No!!
The seal pulls out from the front but you'll need a "seal pick" tool.... The new one can be tapped in with a socket(s) and mallet.... grease the seal hole and go easy and straight on that.
You can buy the seal from Sherco. But having said that the fitting hole is quite deep, so if you go to your local seal shop you can get two thinner, double lip seals and fit them one behind the other... It'll never leak again then.
All the best.

Hey Cope,
Could you explain to me which "O-ring and Gasket either side of the crankcase... that needs bending back" we are talking about here?
All the best.

I know you have a spark but have you tried a brand new spark plug?... They can break down under pressure (compression).
Best of luck.

Rocket fuel
Seriously though .... good luck with that one.... Let us know if you uncover something....You'll make many of owners much happier.
Try the OKO 24mm change ... it's a great carb.

Sorry I'm late contributing to this one.. This is acut-n-past from a previous post.
One thing a lot of people do not pick up on is there are two types of NGK Iridiums. There is a standard gap EIX and a large gap EIX . The large gap EIX is the most commonly found in Auto Parts shops, but the gap is way too BIG for modern Trials bikes. Check the code _ small gap will be say NGK BKR5 EIX (no numbers after the EIX) or BKR5EIX-11. The large gap will be say NGK BKR5 EIX 14 (two numbers after the EIX) both will work if gapped correctly, but if you chuck in a large gap iridium as it comes in the box you are wasting your $$$$$, and will be up for a new one in no time.
BKR5EIX-11 gapped to 0.7mm.
All the best.

Nulon is the best of the two.
But if they're sticking that bad I'm guessing there's a tacky residue on the plates. Might be worth cleaning them in petrol first, then filing up with Nulon / Castrol.
Let us know how you get on.
Best of luck.

if it's a 2012 Cabestany sticker kit then it should be fine
-
That's normal (usual). Try one of these oils and give it a couple of days to soak into the plates before your problem stops.
Castrol 5w30 Edge Sport - Synthetic
Nulon 5w30 Long Life Diesel and Petrol Oil - Synthetic
450ml for a refill ... no more than this.
All the best.

Are you sure that the right centre single ball bearing (the one inside the roller bearing thingy) is in place?
Best of luck.

Hi JoeNinety, ... I love the nick name
This might sound crazy but if you are really desperate you can simply make one out of a rectangular length of sheet ply wood or hardboard. Width - same as the basket .... Length - your choosing.
Remove the 6 cover plate screws then use the cover plate to mark out the 6 screw holes near one end of your board. Then draw cross lines to mark the centre of the 6 hole marks. With 7 holes marked out drill a big hole in the middle (bigger then the clutch centre nut) with a door hole drill/saw. Then drill out the other six holes so the 6 clutch bolts can pass through. Then use all six bolts with washers to fix it to the clutch basket instead of the clutch cover plate but do not over tighten the screws.
If your rectangular length of board is long enough it will touch the ground at around 45 degrees leaving both hands free to loosen the centre nut. ... better than a clutch tool in my opinion.
Hope all this makes sense?
Good luck.

That sounds really weird to me too. Are you sure that you didn't leave out a wheel spacer or washer last time yo took off the rear wheel? .... Or have the snail cam's gone concave?
When you say you "shortened the spindle by 2mm" did you cut/grind the length of the spindle? .... Why didn't you just use a fat washer? ... And I can't figire out why that would stop the snail cam's turning?
My guess is that somthing is still not right if you had to do this.

I've read that too but when I got a chance to compare them down the KTM shop they could not match the Sherco ones up.
Also, there was next to no difference in price so it might just be better to buy the actual Boyesens #665 from a Trials shop or Boyesens suppliers.
And when you've done it write back here say say what improvements you notice?

Never seen a rubber O-ring in a front shock before ... Are you the original owner? .... sounds very odd to me.
I'd suggest you fully dismantle and flush-out that leg with Kero/Parafin and replace the seals at the same time. But I can't see how you can replace an O-ring that doesn't technically exist.
Best of luck.

Nice project .... But alas no not done that. In fact since moving house recently I've spent more time on the Ride-On mower and the chain saw than I have with my bike
Well at least there's no brakes to bleed
BTW I like your phrase "dollar to a donut" ... I must remember that one.
