    How Long 2T

Yes I know the Italians and French have done some "weird and wonderful" things like this in the past. My first Trials bike was a Fantic Section. RH but forward (instead of backward) kicking... I must admit I quite liked it at the time. I understand that Beta riders (here) don't mind the LH Kickstart but it is something I've often heard "RH Kickstarter" riders say they don't like many times. My guess is that most Beta riders wouldn't really mind if Beta changed it to the RH either? ... I didn't hear anyone complaining about the RH Kickstart on the 4T when it came out. Best of balance. How Long 2T

I had a friend of mine keep his Rev3 round my place for a year or so. It ws a PIG! to start but do remember thinking that the way Beta had geared up the staring mechanism was very good and kinda special too. I know you guys are happy (and you have a right to be so) but my point is that in all that time Beta could have made 98% of their potential buyer happier (and made some extra money in the process) putting that KS leaver on the right. I mean why struggle up hill (so to speak) when you can go with the flow ... It's like they just don't listen to their own market. Best of balance. Neo

    How Long 2T

Thanks Ormplus. I thing that the Evo is a beautiful bike but I've so my comments about the kick-start on the "wrong side" and I for one would not buy a Beta 2T because of that. So in 15 years why haven't Beta changed that? It's just another long term show stopper ... like the Mikuni Carb's and the Stators. Best of balance. Neo

    How Long 2T

Just out of curiosity how long has Beta been producing that Old 2T motor for now? Was it in the Beta Zero that it was first fitted? Best of balance. Neo

    Timing retard

Exactly right. Good mod but getting quick with clutch is even better. ....and you'll learn that so much faster so after running into a few bushes But either way .... Best of balance. Neo

    2012 GasGas e-bike

Interesting but I've read that the latest technology motors on trains are hub motors and offer a much higher torque than traditional motors so maybe time have changed? But in reality I don't really mind. So long as the bike can deliver a real "Punch of Power" and shut off the power (without engine brake) with a leaver on the left hand side of the handle bars Best of balance. Neo

    2012 GasGas e-bike

The weight would be no where near as high as a traditional bike and the battery would most likely be mounted low too. "Handling like a rock" ... I don't think so. There's still a tyre there to provide some "spring" ... but can you imagine the traction on the rear wheel? There are companies working on electric mountain bikes like this. And as far as I know this configuration is working for them. Best of balance. Neo

Thanks for that Gwhy. I'm curious to know what are the reasons are? Best of balance. Neo

    2012 GasGas e-bike

Yes it would also be interesting to know what motor they're using? An AC motor (via a computer controlled invert) can offer the precise control but all that electronics weighs something and takes up space. But I've read somewhere that there's some new technology rare earth magnet DC motors around that could potentially go inside the rear wheel (replacing the spokes) and can pack a punch. And keep the weight low and far back. Best of balance. Neo

    TR 280

I was under the impression that FI made fiddling with the mix a thing of the past. Is that not the case on an OSSA TR280? How did your dealer adjust the mix? On his PC software or with a screw driver Best of balance. Neo

    2012 GasGas e-bike

The loss of power can be managed by the battery management system ... warning and cutting out well before the power is significantly effected. But what worries me is trying to do splatter without a clutch or a flywheel Best of balance. Neo

I've downloaded the video and played it back in slow motion. It's hard to make out at times but at no point can I see him pulling in that clutch Best of balance. Neo

Come on Kramit give the guy a bit of time to settle in and and get a feel for this place. We've all been there. Best of balance. Neo
  20. Check that LH side of the frame (next to the top of the rad) for welding on the inside of the frame. The picture looks odd there and and they do crack around there if the cross brace at the front of the frame has cracked previously. Nothing too serious if if has been re-welded (tig'd) buy a good welder ... but has it? Engines are bullet proof ... best engine I ever owned. Please let us know how you get on? Best of balance. Neo

Well actually I didn't mean "Buy an Ossa" I meant to say "Buy Ossa" Can you image what a dream it would be to sleep in the same warehouse as all those bikes Best of balance. Neo

Hi Rosco, Don't be too hard on the guys here. We all have our moments, strengths and weaknesses, but when the chips are down and you really need the help and advice you'll be surprised how many people will put their thinking caps on just to help you solve your problem....I can remember a number of occasions thinking "this is going to be a tone of trouble (or money) only to have someone give me a tip that saved the day and made me just a little bit wiser. : Enjoy your Ossa. I recently came so close to buy one too. But had to choose between bike or house ... and the wife didn't want to live on the bike .... Never mind there's always the 2014 model Best of balance. Neo

    TR 280

Welcome to TC. I've made many, many spelling mistakes in the past and even cut down a few people that have commented on them so I know where you are coming from. But forum rules (love'em or hate'em) clearly state "SMS TEXT TALK - STRICTLY NOT ALLOWED" and as a guy who recently clocked 50 I'd appreciate simple (long winded and complex! ) English too Best of balance. 24. No front rim is not centred and needs to be aligned on a rebuild as Sherco only supply the one length of spoke for front rims now days. But the rear rim has 2 lengths of spokes (Left side and Disk Side) so it's alot easier to get aligned....virtually does it itself. Best of balance. Neo
  25. Clutch plates could be reaching the end of their life. Check if it's worse when it's a cold engine? Best of balance. Neo
