    Coolant hose clips

Well I know this type of clip was used in cars in the UK about 20 years ago but don't know how successful that was. But I would have thought that nylon would have been up to the job. Worth a try I think .... I'll let you know how I get on. Best of balance. Neo

    Coolant hose clips

This may sound crazy but I've recently got hold of some 19mm black nylon ratchet clips and I thought I'll give them a go. They are so easy to put on and take off but I'll stay will the Stainless Steel ones for anything near the header pipe. Best of balance. Neo

This is interesting Mark because I didn't really find the clutch heavy on the Ossa and as a comparison I currently ride a Sherco 250 too ... Hmmm... might be more to this than meets the eye I think Best of balance. Neo

I guess it depends on what you are used to. But to get a 2011 Ossa clutch just like a Sherco clutch will definitely take more than just a simple adjustment. By design it's a clutch unit with central spline levers (which provides that smooth engagement) .... But that design will take more more physical travel (movement) of the slave cylinder piston to engage and disengage. I guess al this is why they are set up "on the point of dragging" from the factory. Best of balance. Neo

I second that opinion. The 2012 has new clutch plates but my guess is they need to upgrade that master cylinder. That will make the clutch a bit heavier but it'll be well worth it as far as I'm concerned. Thanks for sharing this with us Samy. Best of balance. Neo

QUOTE 2012.... New plastics include radiator protectors, which channel the air to the radiator, the frame trims, the exhaust protectors and a completely new airbox cover. This presents direct admission air intakes that provides fresh air in all circumstances. Also, its new radiator outtake holes make the air circulation easier, improving the engine performance. So on the Air filter ...Maybe! Best of balance. Neo

Thanks Samy, But it's the clutch that's a serious show stopper for me. It needs to operate in a much smaller lever range (and without dragging) before I'm sold on this bike (meaning you can find neutral with ease while the engine is running). Clutch plates have been changed on the 2012 models so maybe that's fixed it. Please let me know if you expreiance somthing similar on your mates bike. Best of balance. Neo

I personally doubt frame problems ... the frame work is awesome. Engine out for the fuel pump... wouldn't worry me. Back wheels has bearing and a bush... An engineering concept that needs providing by everyday riders I think. Best of balance. Neo

    2012 Sherco

Yes I understand what you are saying sirhc but a manufactures "tweaking years" should really be saved for times of low or no competition. Sherco now have a serious contender that came out of the blue two years ago. If Sherco want to maintain their market share I think they're gonna need much more than tweaks to do that. I'm no pro rider and I already have a well tweaked ("good") bike. And I agree that tweaks make a difference. But I try not to kid myself that I'll become Adam Raga just because I have a new shock linkage etc.... So at the moment I think I need much more than this to make me pull my wallet out Best of balance. Neo

    TR 280

Hi Gents, Had my first "close up" with an Ossa yesterday. I must say that the engineering quality is superb as if they had been producing bikes for years but I must admit there were a few area's of concern ... The bike is slight bigger, higher and wider at the top (at what we used to call the tank) than the Sherco and what I had hoped. It balanced amazing well but when rocked from side to side seemed a bit heavier (high up) than the a Sherco. The clutch is light enough but has an enormous amount of travel (lever range) and engages far out from the bars. The clutch made one finger operation very awkward (for me). Yet fully engaged it still dragged a little.... I didn't mind the drag but the lever range was a real "show stopper" for me as I have my Sherco levers set up for minimal travel. I'd read somewhere that some UK riders where replacing the master cylinder for higher volume ones. So can someone please come back to me on... What master cylinders are being used? How heavy is the clutch after that? Does the clutch drag stop after this mod too? Best of balance. Neo

    2012 Sherco

Yes I'm in the same position Cope. I thought I was holding out for FI on a Sherco but this 2012 bike is a disappointment as far as I'm concerned... "more of the same old" as they say....What ever happened to Sherco being a "force to be reckoned with"?.... This is hardly a bike that's been designed in response to the Ossa. I think they're pushing their luck personally. But if I don't buy a new bike this year then it will have to be 2014 before my next bike as I'm far too superstitious for a 2013 bike. Bet of balance. Hmmm... nothing to get too excited about ...but I'd like to know what the new Front Suspension and R16V Rear Shock are going to do for the bike. Best of balance. Neo

    Re packing...

Doubt it would do much but if you find a fluid (mix) that works well please let us know. I still like the Jet Engine / Flame Thrower (in wet sand) method myself .... worked so well for me .... but then again folk do tell me I'm crazy Best of balance. Neo
