  2. Never had a problem, and done quite a few miles with a rack on the back I now use a trailer, but only because I now tow two bikes!
  3. It’s always worth going over the whole bike with a spanner as part of your regular maintenance. All the nuts and bolts have a tendency to work lose, especially on a two stroke!

Most people at motorcycle events are the most generous you are likely to meet, I underestimated the distance of a venue and as I drove onto the field ran out of diesel! The guy I broke down next to promptly syphoned a gallon of diesel from his motorhome and refused to accept any payment for his diesel or help!

  11. Yes, it ridiculous. I was fortunate to find a load of cast billets at a local scrap yard The only down side to this is I don’t know the grade, but I’ve made a few nice vee blocks with it
  12. Cast iron, I had some done years ago by InMotion for a pursang. I have also done some myself, but Its hard to get the cast at a reasonable price

  15. It would be a lot cheaper to stick with the c15 motor, building bitsa's has a tendency to spiral in costs I’ve never had any real problems with the standard c15 motor, found the to be fairly strong and reliable even with standard ignitions
  16. I run all my air cooled bike on 40:1 without any problems, and smoke free Silkolene Comp2
  17. You could do it with a small hone and drill, the type they use on car wheel cylinders Aluminium isn’t the best material to hone but it should do it The only problem you may have is the crack on the inside may act as a stress riser, and it will probably crack the weld (just keep an eye on it)
