  1. If you do need new ones, buy them from a bearing supplier. They are a fraction of the price than from bike dealers
  2. Make sure its chained to the floor with one or more large ground anchors! And keep them out of sight
  3. When you get used to it becomes second nature, even when swapping between bikes
  4. Very nice bikes, do you have any British bikes?
  5. How much does it cost? I bet its more that £15
  6. Excessive increases! £12-15 entry and £10 annual license fee, I think the word you are after is bargain!
  7. To be fair it was a stupid stunt, three people on a bike & a jump?
  8. nothing wrong with silkolene, but I do use it at 40:1 on air cooled bikes (without any problems or smoke)
  9. A doctor reaches into his smock to get a pen to write a prescription and pulls out a rectal thermometer. "Oh, damn it," he proclaims, "Some a**hole has my pen!"
  10. An organization is like a tree full of monkeys, all on different limbs at different levels. The monkeys on top look down and see a tree full of smiling faces. The monkeys on the bottom look up and see nothing but assholes.
  11. Yes, I bought one. Excellent bit of kit, 2hp motor & 50ltr tank!
  12. I appreciate the principles of honing a bore, but I wouldn’t fancy putting a hone down a worn plated bore as it would probably cause blisters or chipping on the port edges.
  13. if you buy the branded stuff for cars the quality is second to none, just take a look at all the standards they have to meet! Have a look at this on the Opie site: Fuchs Maintain Fricofin Esk Universal concentrate, they even list it under motorcycles. £20 for 5lt
  14. same here (I use the car stuff with a corrosion inhibitor)
  15. If you have any pitting on the big assembly then it needs a rebuild, and if you have put a hone in a plated bore you have probably done some damage If it was a cheap bike, it might be worth just running it until it gets noisy? The other option is find a good used crankshaft, try Steve Goode MC’s
  16. I use G-wax from go-outdoors, seems to work well
  17. True, I wasn’t born in the 60’s so can’t speak from experience, but the bike do have a certain charm
  18. Oh no, I can here all the pre65 riders typing!
  19. From you title it sounds like you are breeding them All TXT's rattle, its normally the clutch Watch you don’t block the air from entering the airbox, you will have even more problems. Better to fix the valve at the bottom? If it’s hot and you need the choke, have a look on youtube for videos setting the carb
  20. Don’t expect a lot of power from the 8e or 9e engines (this can seem even worse if you have a 3 speed box) The 32a is probably the better option If you fitted the 1H piston you would hardly notice any power increase (if any)!
  21. Have a look at his website, he's already done a bit of pre65 trials on a cub!
  22. Speaking from experience, c15's can be troublesome and expensive if you run them on a tight budget! a four speed bantam would be a better bike (or even better a twinshock)?
  23. I had a c15 MX bike that I run on points, it ran well I ran it with a battery and no charging circuit, not sure how long that would last on a trials bike? You should be able to find the bits needed on ebay, or at an autojumble? It could be the clutch is slipping or the kick-start mechanism has lost its teeth?
