  1. Not worth the hassle or risk for a few extra quid, if it leaks you will have to remove the engine, strip and rebuild it again!
  2. I would much prefer a carburettor on my bike, EFi seems to over-complicate the simplicity of a 2T engine! This maybe because I can’t afford a new bike with EFi, or I'm just an old git
  3. I notice the prices for classic bikes on ebay seems to be getting ridiculous (but none actually seem to be selling) I was wondering are my bikes actually worth more than I think, or are there lots of deamers out there?
  4. All the GG manuals I have all recommend 66:1 (1.5%) I wouldn't go any leaner than 50:1 and I've never had a problem with GG I run my air cooled bikes at 40:1 (or more) and never had a problem
  5. no need to change them unless there is a problem, they should last years (if you keep your air-filter clean & oiled)
  6. Quite straight forward to change, they do tend to go on off-road bikes as do all the other chassis bearings (Wheel, suspension ect...) Its worth buying good quality bearings from a bearing supplier (and also saves a few quid)!
  7. I think you need to start messing, I’ve got a gasser and a few twinshocks and the gasser is better by far!
  8. Never put the beamish on the back only my gasgas, which around 70kgs same as the nose weight of the towbar/car so I’m only the weight of the rack overweight Saw a corsa sunday with a rack fitted, they only have a 50kg nose weight!
  9. Unfortunately the police have not been very helpful when we have had attempted burglary ‘s (which is 10+ attempted and 2 burglary's) It does make you angry when someone tries to steel / steels items that you have worked hard to pay for.. So please accept my apologies, the criticism was unintended
  10. This isn’t bad as that’s what they were fetching in 2010! I paid £1100 for a mint 2004 gasgas in 2010 and thought I paid over the odds!
  11. How many people actually use bike racks & on what cars?
  12. When you have polished it give it a coat of clear lacquer. They make modern rims from 7075 alloy and it corrodes quickly
  13. Make sure you have the correct pre-load spacers in the forks, they should be quite long I use NJB rear shocks on my beamish
  14. I’ve used a bike rack for quite a few years, without any problems (and I’ve done quite a few miles) on various cars and small vans But I’ve now started to worry about the weight on the back and the law I know there is a nose weight for vehicles but I was always under the impression that this was for the towing & stability of a trailer? I’m currently using the wife’s Rover 25 which pulls the bike nicely but only has a nose weight of 70Kgs! (which is more than some big cars)
  15. thank you, now ordered
  16. Does anyone know the best (cheapest) place to purchase a set of rear spokes & nipples for a 04 TXT pro? Mine have rusted solid, broke 6 stripping the wheel!
  17. I’ve had a DC rack for some time, it works perfect. But the welding isn’t brilliant!
  18. Motocross on a Vincent? You would need a fat chequebook
  19. Fingerprints and DNA…. do you live in the real world! The last time I called the police for an attempted bike theft all I got was a crime number for the insurance!?!?!?!
  20. CCTV, total waste of time! What do you do with the video of your bike being stolen? Better spending your money on an alarm , chains and ground anchor
  21. They are no better or worse than any other small drum-brake, time spent setting it up correctly will pay off!
