  1. Yep, should have said there is a small amount of "sag" when riderless.. but a lot less than before. S.m.
  2. My girlfriend was sent to halfords to buy me some 5W fork oil for the rev3. she came home with "medium weight fork oil" halfords own brand does anyone know what weight of oil this would be?? cheers S.M.
  3. I bit the bullet and bought a new spring, it was a longer length than what was in the bike. and had one short plastic spacer. the old spring was shorter and had two plastic spacers, dont know if that set up was correct, Anyway with new spring/spacer fitted the bike now stands with forks fully extended at rest and seems much better.. thanks to all S.M.
  4. I use atf in my 240 pro its good. S.M.

    2001 Rev 3 270

would the 270 2001 have a flywheel weight as standard? sorry if i sound dumb!! just learning about these "modern" bikes!! S.M.
  9. "snatching" i mean slight stickiness and forks not fully extending upwrds properly, without lifting bars slightly,. There is a bit of sag even with the bike riderless!! possibly the springs are shot. S.M
  10. Is there a recomended way to check whether front springs are worn out/soft? Can someone run me through the procedure for bolting forks axle etc together to eliminate "snatching" of the forks on rebound. many thanks, S.M.
  11. Sorry to hijack the thread.. How can you tell which throttle is fitted, fast or slow? (domino on a 01' rev3). I cant decide what i have got... S.M.
  12. I will second the above . Also 100/1 too little oil for any 2 st. in my humble opinion. S.m.

    Which Model

Yeah, and i just got a 2001 blue 270, better looking and in better condition than any 03 models i saw!!! If i cant buy bits easily for a 5 year old beta i will chuck it.. In my opinion it doesnt always follow that the newest bike of any given model is best but condition is more important than age. S.M.
  14. Bl*ody hell, i thought i was the only guy on earth that thought this!! This "sales person" is the most unhelpfull chap i have ever encountered in any mail order supplier! S.M

    Bad Idle On 240

Grib, if you recall i had idle probs on my 240, except it died away. Anyway, during my efforts to sort my problem i did ascertain that rising revs or too fast idle was a symptom of flywheel side crank seal gone...makes a bit of sence though S.M

    Rtl Kick-start

is there still any websites where you can search honda RTL parts by part number? S.M
  17. you can still get front white honda RTL guards from honda!!
  18. Canine you stupid mutt, you are in fact dead right. S.M.
  19. Ok, I have secured a 2001 270. Well looked after, best colour in my opinion and fair price. Its older than some of you suggested i got, but given i have no modern bikes, to me it will be a huge leap forward. And if i dont like it,i wont lose much money given the reasonable purchase price. Again i perhaps should have got a 250, but as i havent tried any others i wont really have anything to compare it to....and this bike came along at the right time, condition, price etc. I should get it early next week, and will give my impressions on a Beta soon.! Thanks to all for the varied advice. S.M.
  20. As per title, does anyone have a 2001 rev3 owners manual spare? I have tried lampkins. thanks S.M.
  21. hey Stu, how much approx will the RTL pistons be and how long until available? cheers S.M.
  22. thanks all, i knew there was a frame # site, just couldnt find it on a search.. S.M.
