    Manx 2 Day

A rider may enter the Manx Grand Prix as soon as they have a National Licence. The maximum age is 45, from then one you can only enter the Classic races. To enter the TT you either need a full International Licence or have ridden in the Manx. Once you have ridden in the TT races, you may not return to the Manx unless it is on a classic. There is no start or prize money at the Manx, unlike at the TT. Although the Manx is an amateur event, winning speeds are now very close to those seen at the TT. Not so many years ago a 110mph lap on a 600 gave you a top 10 finish. Now you need to do nearer 120. And that's an average speed for the 37.73 mile lap.
  2. Gas Gas Pampera MKIII. Rides very much like a trials bike but with all the road kit. A real favourite for Long Distance Trials events here in the UK.

    Manx 2 Day

Anyone still having trouble with accomodation for the Manx GP, contact the Isle of Man Tourist board. They always have names of hotels, <mention of this company is not permitted on Trials Central>'s and homestays who still have vacancies. The ferry is not cheap, they have a monopoly. Use the Steam packet or..... don't go! Some choice. Getting an outward booking on the Friday will be tough, (imposible?) most of the racing fans go out that day, however the return trip on the Monday should be a little easier as it's only trials riders going home. I've raced the MGP (and TT) and for me it's an amazing circuit, the speeds are mind blowing, Kirk Michael village at 150mph in a 30 zone! Take something like a Yamaha R1 and gear up a tooth on the front sprocket and still hit the red line at Sulby! I've also observed at the Two days a number of times but never plucked up the courage to ride. Even the easy (er) route looks a bit tough to me. Good luck to everyone who's got an entry.
  4. I've just returned from riding in the first day of the Dudley Clubs Two day trial at Mamble Farm. The sections contained three routes, so there was something for everyone. Any riders in the Midlands want a good event tomorrow (Sunday 10th July) then get along to this trial. Pete & Lynda Cartwright who run the club will be more than pleased to accept entries on the day.
  5. Puts ones own problems into perspective. Very sad news.
  6. Wednesdays Stratford Upon Avon evening club trial was a good event. 20 riders turned up to ride the self observe course, many completed more than four laps, just for practice. Results to follow.
  7. Registered my new Beta in June no problems. Local brocker issued a cover note on the frame number, took the cover note, driving licence, proof of ID and the cert of newness to DVLA at Worcester. You will have to take a ticket and wait your turn, but I left with a tax disc and a registration number no trouble at all. Log book turned up a few days later.
  8. The Stratford Upon Avon Club will be holding a fun evening event this Wednesday. The event is at Swifts Farm, Halford, Near Shipston Upon Stour. Signposted from the Fosse Way. Riders can sign on anytime between 5.30 and 7.30. Sections close at 9pm. This will be a fun event, call it a chance to get in some preactice! Competitors may ride as many laps as they wish on a self observe basis. Infact; if any Experts wish to ride around in groups, they can ride their own harder versions of the sections. The emphasis of the event will be for everyone to have a good evening on their trials bikes.
