    Clothing

I'm after so new trials pants and was wondering if anybody knew where i could get some montesa ones from? Cheers Chris
  2. There are a couple of things you could try. Try putting some grinding paste into the knackered allen hole and then using the original correct sized allen key to undo the bolt (this rarely works) As stated, cut a flat edge through the bolt head and use a flat edge or impact driver to try and shift it a bit. remove all the other bolts, drill the head off the knackered one (using small to larger drill bits in the centre of the bolt), remove the cover, use some mole grips to on the now showing bolt shaft. Good luck

    4Rt

Hi there. I'm wanting to put some fatbars onto my 4rt. I'm wondering how i manage to fit them in place of the standard ones. Also, where can i get the parts needed. I'm also looking at putting a larger clutch master cylinder on. Again, i'm wondering where i can get one from, preferably second hand. Thanks in advance. Chris
  4. Hi. I have just acquired a bog standard fully original 2005 4RT. It has the most awful breather pipe coming from the tank with a what looks like a valve and then the breather pipe goes back below the tank. I haven't has time to figure out what it's about to be honest but am wondering whether or not it is needed or whether i can cut it back and plonk a little one way valve on it? Are there any other alternatives to what i can do with it to make it look a bit tidier? Cheers Chris

    4Rt 2005

That is what is confusing the crap out of me. Advised me not to use ATF as it will eventually destroy the clutch

    4Rt 2005

Hi. My local dealer has told me just to put Putoline nano tech 10-40w in both the transmission and the engine. Does the seem okay to do? Cheers Chris

    4Rt 2005

What are your thoughts on the engine oil, fully synth, part synth? Will decent car 10-40w be fine? Cheers Chris

    4Rt 2005

Hi there. I have acquired a 2005 rt that has done very little work and hasn't been used for some time. I've bought a service kit from pitcocks but I'm at a loss as to which oils I can/ahould use. Which oils do you use for the transmission and engine? Thanks for your help! There maybe more daft questions after this one!! Cheers Chris

    Shops

Hi. My local trials shop doesn't sell what I need (some alpine star boots). I live in Middlesbrough and am off to Leeds and Newcastle shortly. Does anybody know of any decent trials bike shops in them areas? Cheers chris
  12. Back is off, Down is on, Forward is reserve. I always leave whatever fuel is left in the tank without any issues.
  13. Thanks for your replies Could this have anything to do with me changing over from regular unleaded petrol to super plus unleaded? Should I stop and go back to regular? Cheers chris
  14. Does anybody know where the cheapest place to buy these are? My local shop doesn't sell them. Cheers Chris
  15. Could somebody point out what is wrong with my bike please? I've taken the carb off to clean it and on the outlet side it has a white residue in it. It continues into the boot that connects it to the reeds. It's fairly solid white like its been combusted onto it. I've no idea but it doesn't look good!!
  16. Cheers for the replies. Think I'll wait until I get the back to the bike and have a count Cheers Chris
  17. Sorry to be a pain but. I don't have my bike local at the moment but want to order a chain for it. Can somebody tell me how many links i need? The bike is standard geared. Which chain do you recommend too? Thanks Chris.
  18. Agree cope that's it doesn't make too much financial sense. But I can get one for very little and I thought it may be a better seal design. Do you not think its worth it then? Does anybody know if the rear mudguard from a later than 2000 will fit onto a 2000? Cheers Chris
  19. I have a sherco 2000 which has the single waterpump seal. Would a 2001 onwards clutch case fit onto the 2000 model? The later clutch cases takse 2 waterpump seals that all. Cheers

    FIRST SHERCO

I have a 2000. Main one for me is the gearbox oil becoming milky due to the waterpump seals becoming worn. It's nothing major and easy to do. I'd just check and change your oil often enough to keep an eye on it. Replace the seals when needed CP
  21. Cheers for the replies. Its all together now waiting to be fitted to the bike. I've re-tapped the old impeller to fit the new shaft. Fingers crossed it'll be alright!! Again thanks. Chris
  22. Ordered and received what was supposed to be a 2000 waterpump shaft, the shop sent me out a modern shaft and said that sherco no longer made the shaft for the 99-2000 bikes. I've now had to buy a plastic pinion gear to boot and I'm having to have the impellers thread altered to fit the new shaft. My question is. Will the 2001 onwards shaft fit and work in a 2000 bike??? Cheers Chris
  23. The impeller is very tight fitting onto the shaft. All steel construction with no keyed fitting on the shaft or in the impeller.. The seal and bearings then sit side by side in the clutch case housing. A thrust washer is in place also. I wasn't sure if all the dimensions were the same and I could "upgrade" to the newer design. Splatshop are showing a clutch case casket for the a 50cc bike only on a 2000 modle. Are they the same sizing? Again, thanks for any help. Chris
