That sounds more like 1800 rpm and more like 2500 rpm when you open the throttle. I have tried 1200 rpm before and that sounds way slower than that.
I have the same Pulse PET -1100 and run 1800, stops stalling and easier to start. Did try 1500 rpm, but it was harder to start. If you don't like the 1800 idle, because it's too fast in turns, lower the standard gearing to either a 10/43 or 9/42 to slow it down.

As has been said, They run hot, the fan will come on a lot more than a 2t.

Last November, (This a bit of a rant, so I apologise in advance) at the Downland trial, on the way back to the horse and the harrow (start/end, we had just finished observing) a friend, my bro and myself were hit from behind by a car, whilst waiting to turn right in trev's van. The young women hit us at about 30 mph, pushing us about 40 feet forwards down the road, her car was a right off, trev's vw caddy had very little damage, bumper, light and one of the doors was dented (stood reason for buying one). Trev and Paul had minor whiplash, but I had slightly worst whiplash, as I was sat in the front passenger seat, heard the skidding sound, lent forwards to look behind in nearside mirror (to see a rapidly approaching car and then BANG, as she ploughed into the back of us).
Because I had lent forwards and grabbed the door handle, I got the full force through my shoulder and my head went back and forwards about 2 ft. Anyway, to cut a story short, I got carted off to hospital, on a spinal board, blue lights flashing and everything, to have a full check and X-ray. I was quite embarrassed really, as I thought/knew it was just neck strain and was just wasting their time, but they insisted they had to treat me, just in case (I'm sure they had more important things to do).
Within a couple of days of the accident, I had a call from the Ambulance chasers (solicitors) asking me to fill in a claims form for injury, they said I could claim for whiplash etc and would get a nice little payout (probably a couple of grand). The women on the phone was quite surprised when I said, no thanks, I'm not interested in claiming for anything, (I didn't have any time off work (the following day was my normal day off and ibrufen was enough to make my injuries bearable) as I thought that this claims culture we have now, was the reason insurance was so expensive and basically just made the solicitors/lawyers etc richer at our cost. Neither my brother or Trev claimed (even though we were all actively encouraged to) we all felt our injuries did not justify it and didn't want some ambulance chaser making shed loads of money out of it.
Since November, this legal company has called me about 3 - 4 times a week (I don't answer) and last week I recieved another letter reminding me that I should put a claim in. This really peeves me off, I have told them countless times, that I do not want to claim and yet they continue to harass me (Paul and Trev don't get the calls, although they have had another letter). This is why insurance is so expensive, I am old enough to remember the days when virtually no one claimed for injuries and hardly anyone sued. Now there's a massive industry, with call centres and 10's of millions paid out on fake claims and were all paying for it, whilst the ambulance chasers get rich :0(
I could legitimately put a claim in (ended up having a cortisone injection in my shoulder and physio) but I just don't agree with people making a lot of money, encouraging fake claims and at the end of the day, we'll all paying for it through increased cost for everything.
Rant over, sorry :0)

No and not really, it's about 1kg less but you don't really feel it. Termi is actually quieter than the original, but sounds nice, even the stink bomb riders like it.If anyone is after a Termi, get it from Brian at BR SPECIAL TUNING LIMITED , he's great to deal with, unlike the experience I had with a certain Italian company that starts with Red ...... ....., don't go there, you'll regret it :0(

Well, isn't Tomi riding a 2005 bike ;0) I think kenny's bike is far removed from what it origins were, it's basically a Yamaha factory special.

Had 9/43 on my previous bikes, but trying 9/42 on the 14. Some of the expert riders I know prefer the standard gearing, but most I know are running the first two.
-
Yeah, all the alpinestar sponsored riders have worn a pair like the ones above for quite a while now, but this rider, No.58 is wearing what I can only assume are new "production" boots. He's either nabbed a pair off Fuji or bought them, but Tomi and Kenny aren't wearing them, they still have the old style. Do you happen to know who imports alpinestar into the uk, then I could ask.
(I also noticed there's a new Arai helmet, completely different to the previous Penta)
-
I noticed a Japanese rider wearing boots just like the works riders, with the stitched on sole, so are they the new 2014 boot we can buy. I need a new pair soon (mine are getting a bit tired) and would rather wait for a new version if there is one.

It's funny how the people that say they don't grip, are the ones (that ride 2T), have a quick go on a 4rt, have never owned one of the newer bikes , it's never the owners that have learnt to ride a 4T. There are plenty who say they grip really well, I think you could say the same for most bikes, surely it mainly depends on who's riding it. If you want a bike that grips, buy a beta 125, but if you are 18 stone..... You'll love the 4rt and as long as your feet are on the pegs, you'll get plenty of grip, main thing is to do what Johnnyb and the rest of us wobblers do, gear it down with a 9/42 sprocket and leave the clutch alone as much as possible, it doesn't need the 2T style.

Looks like Kenny came third, now Tomiyuki is on a factory Honda, he's cleaning up, Yamaha is getting it butt kicked by Honda in Moto gp and trials.
-
Where did you buy it from, uk or Europe ? If, as you say, it's a unrestricted "full power" 260, then no, it won't have any restrictors. It's only the ones with the road kit that are restricted and uk bikes came without the road kit.

Out playing today with a few friends.

Absolute Trollocks mate, parts are warranted for 6 months (everything except consumables and wear and tear). I suggest you mention consumer rights, trading standards, fit for purpose and health and safety (brakes that work are kinda vital, in the prevention of injury or death). If the dealer won't deal with the warranty claim, contact Honda uk and if they say no, just mention, independant engineers report, lawyers and trading standards.
-
If that's true Will, that would be Honda UK, so we'll all be buying from Spain. You don't need that many spare parts for a Honda anyway, so go on, treat yourself ;0)Ps. Did you get the same text as me ;0)

About time, since Honda bought Montesa, every bike has been a HRC Honda, the factory the bikes are built in is a Honda factory, the only part that has Montesa on it, is the Montesa Decals, everything else is Honda. The only difference between this year and last, is no one will be pretending there Montesa's anymore.
Hopefully the 2015 model will be a Honda RTL, in HRC colours.
Montesa has a great history, but they would almost certainly have disappeared if it hadn't been bought by Honda.

Enjoy your new toy, hope you like it :0)

Johnny, it's a GasGas he's px'ing.

Good things come, to those who wait. Hope you have some luck selling soon.

That's what was suggested to me, I have had 3 bikes with these kill switches, never had a problem until the last one, wired them up the same way every time, so 3 out of 4 worked perfectly. I videoed the one with the problem, to prove my point. If you bang the handle bars once you've pulled the switch and when the problem happens, the engine will shut off.
-
Yes, I and I know of several others who have had the same problem, don't mess with it, just return it to the place you bought it and ask for a replacement. (You can open them up and stretch the spring a bit, as the internals get stuck, causing the engine to continue running), but this shouldn't be necessary, it should work properly every time, it is after all, an emergency engine stop. Once Leonelli start getting more back, they might do something about it. I might add, the old design ones seemed to have a stronger magnet and spring, whereas the new version seem very easy to pull off.

Before you join the "I hate the evil Honda" brigade, you might want to read this.http://m.motomatters.com/opinion/2014/03/10/the_factory_2_farce_how_poor_communicati.html
-
OK, it wasn't perfect, but my point was, it was made by a small manufacturer.
-
You need to remove all the road kit, as it restricts power, obviously the supplying dealer didn't do this for you. Get in touch with them and get them to tell you what to do. The UK bikes come without the road kit now, so there's no restrictors fitted.

Mates new 260, ex Beta rider who has seen the light and is well chuffed.
