I think you might mean Formula parts full of machining swarf.
-
Superb Franck, your work is just so good, I could stare at it all day and :0)......|
Wish someone was doing these parts commercially, I know atleast 4 RTL owners who would be beating the door down to get hold anything available. Sadly my RTL can never be so good, as I am not a gifted engineer (even in my dreams) and most of what you have done cannot be had as no one is willing to make it. So mine will be a hybrid of parts that either fit or will fit with a little modification.
Can you, by any chance please Franck, bring your bike to Telford, so we can see it in the flesh.
-
No onions :0)
I'll be wearing the jacket of the company I sponsor.............................HONDA :0)
And my factory mechanic (my bro) will be in tow.
-
Might see you there Franck, I'll be there on Saturday.

Just to clarify thw warranty issue, it would appear I was right and it has now been clarified by Honda UK.
"Thank you for contacting Honda (UK)
I have raised your query with our Technical Team here at head Office. They have advised me that Montesa bikes have a 6 months parts only warranty, this is covered by the factory. CRFs are not supplied with any factory warranty but from the date of sale Honda UK pays for any fault and labour which is deemed a manufacturers defect for 6 months.
I hope this helps.
Thank you once again for contacting Honda (UK)"

I have had 3 new 4rts and I'm pretty sur I was told they came with a 6 months parts warranty. Anyway, due to the comment on this thread about them not having a warranty, I thought I'd check with Honda UK and here's the response I got today:
Thank you for contacting Honda UK.
We would like to confirm that the Cota do not come with manufacturers warranty as they have been designed and constructed for racing purposes.
However, Honda gives warranty for the other off road models which is 3 months for the XR series and CRF series up to 125cc and 6 months for the CRF series above 125cc.
Should you need further help, please let us know.
Kind Regards,

Now I know I'm not the sharpest tool in the box, but, im sure they had one, so maybe it's a new thing. surely, if an mx bike that is ridden a lot harder, can get a 6 month warranty, then why can't a trials bike get one too?!!! I thought that was why Honda UK insisted only franchised Honda dealers could sell them.
-
I think you may have read that wrong, I,C: means-
I: Inspect and clean, Adjust, Lubricate or Replacement if necessary.
C: clean
-
Who told you theres no warranty, you get 6 months parts warranty, so the dealer would have sent you the part FOC. If the bearing is missing. The seals can only keep out a certain amount of cr*p, so it's good practice to strip, clean and lubricate on a regular basis, on any trials bike. It would appear you have been very unlucky with your bike, but it's not the norm on a mont in my experience and I've had a fair few of them.
To be honest, the first thing I do when I get a new bike, is strip it, remove all the unnecessary bits and check and lub everything. Yes, it's a day wasted in the garage, but it's piece of mind and you'll benefit from it in the future.
-
Tbh, I don't want to offend you, but, if you'd serviced it, somewhere inline with what it suggests in the manual, one, you wouldn't have these problems in the first place, but, two, if the bearing was missing, you'd have got it covered by the warranty. It's generally lack of maintanance that causes the bearings to fail, they need regular cleaning and greasing, it isn't maintaince free, just because it a Honda, I mean Montesa.
All the bearings are below.

DVLA registration numbers are not reprensative of the amount of new bikes sold in the UK, as I would guess, most new bikes are not registered from new.
-
And sadly the police will show zilch interest and do sfa.

It's not a breather pipe by the way, it's where the electrical wires come out of the cover from the stator. There isn't one, you've got to buy the whole stator assembly and that's not available. They all do it, I'm assuming it's because the rubber grommet goes hard over time. There are ones available from other bikes but they don't have the 90 degree bend. Google it and see what you can find. If you find anything, let us know please.

Only Fuji and Ogawa use the new clutch, Bou prefers the old one.
-
That's because Honda parts for Europe is in Belgium.

50250-GC4-000
From a owners manual parts list.

You can order it from David silver spares, £6.41 (it's a special order part). RTL parts that have ND9 or NN0 in the part number are virtually none existent, so you either have to find another part from another bike, a used part, or get it made.
If all the RTLs in existence were used, there'd probably be a reasonable source of aftermarket parts, but sadly most are sat in garages collecting dust :0(
-
I pretty sure the 315 hangers won't fit a 4rt (but I maybe wrong) so check before you buy ;0)
-
How come it didn't work for fuji then ;0)
-
There isn't one, you ran ride a trials event every weekend (except Remembrance Sunday).
-
Excel do a 36 spoke tubless rim

Looked at pit bike oil coolers, there too big to go inside the frame. Putting it on the exhaust side is better than the other side I guess, but the best solution is as per the original accessory oil cooler Honda did. Franck on another thread has one on his, hopefully he might tell us which one he used, guess we'll Just have to keep looking.

You can also buy a Mitani carbon cover, that mirrors the shape of the silencer and protects the silencer from damage or wear.
-
Battery technology has moved on since the early 2000's, I'd imagine the battery would have been too bigand heavy for the 4rt then, which is why they choose the high tick over route. Batterys are more powerful, last longer and lighter, which is why the vertigo has one as well as the ossa.
Vertigo may have shown the their new bike, but there's no word on price or delivery dates, they seem to be wanting to do the right thing and develope and test it, before actually selling it.
-
Not sure for certain, as it doesn't say on the website, but if you go on it starting at 1030 and get there for 0930-1000, you should be alright.

I'm doing a project that requires an inboard rear brake caliper, I think the Beta 4t rear brake calliper might be suitable. Has anyone got any pics of it removed, both sides, but especially the side next to swingarm required please.
