You don't get the point, it's personal choice, it may not flick your switch or many others, but their is a market for it. Thats the great thing about life, we are all differrant and atleast we can make choices, it would be boring if we all rode the same bike.
What many of the 4RT fans I think are saying, it's not that my bike is better than yours, just that they prefer theirs. As 4RT fans, we are happy that Honda Montesa, have brought out an updated model, it may not be a completely new bike, but atleast it's been brought upto date and will do the job just fine, for those that like a fourstroke and their is now a choice of specifications and hopefully a more competitive price.
-
Only on the standard bike. The Repsol Rep still has Showa.
-
No price as yet, but probably available in October.
-
I was told by a dealer, that since Craig's took over from Pidcocks, they have put all the prices up for parts, so I'm not holding out for a big surprise, on the new lower (15-20% as suggested) price of the bikes. Although It would be nice for them to prove me wrong. ;-)
Me personally, Repsol, because it has the Showa's, DID rims.
-
As much as agree with you Jonny, maybe we need to give Graigs a chance to prove themselves. Although so far, since they took over from Pidcocks, I haven't seen or heard a squeak from them anywhere!

I see the UK distributor (Craigs Motorcycles) is upto speed then, with the new bikes, Not!!! Where as the US one has all the info and they don't even sell the 4RT currently!
Me thinks Honda, should have given the distribution rights, to someone who has a passion for Trials!
-
I like the look of the new bikes, however, I would only buy one with Showa suspension, so it would have to be the replica.
I'll look forward to test riding one. ;-)
One of these please Mr Honda. ;-)

The 260 HRC kit included ;-) and the crankcase decompressing system sounds good, for better torque. Shame they didn't go all the way with the replica and include the programable throttle body.
Didn't see any mention of price though?
Like the Repsol. ??
-
I hope it's a completely new bike and not just the current bike with new colours, mudguard and tank!
Rumour is, it doesn't have Showa forks, that won't be good. Not long to wait and see now.

Although I'm a great Fuji fan, I simply have to agree, Albert rode that section superbly. A perfect example of how No Stop Trials is a skill and to ride like Albert, a very special skill. No wonder he feels the way he does, when you look at how some other top riders rode and also got a clean!
-
Personally I have actually enjoyed watching the you tube videos. The riders seem to flow through the sections better and it certainly requires great skill to do this. I think as the championship progresses, then they will get even better.
The problem I have with it, is actually with the FIM. They should never have called it No Stop, as clearly this is not the case from the videos I've seen, from what I can see, a momentary pause is acceptable. However as long as all the riders are given the same treatment, then I don't have a problem with this. The FIM should just make this very clear to all. I think maybe it should be called the New "Only Stop for a split second, or I'll five you rule".
As I said, I like the way the riders are riding, it's more enjoyable than watching someone stop and balance, or rushing through due to the time limit.
Alternatively the FIM could employ professional observers, who travel to all rounds and observe strictly to the rules, taking the pressure away from the volunteer observers.

Gasgas249uk, I know your situation and don't wish to get you involved for obvious reasons, just thought some of our European members might have seen it at the Arnedillo trial. ??
-
Well it appears that Bou has a new engine in his 4RT, as used at the Arnedillo Trial, not much mentioned about it in the press though!
Just wondering if anybody has any further info and any photos, for those that are interested in such things. ??

I'm afraid if the loose bits are rattling, unless they blow out, your going to have to remove the end cap and probably the front part to get them out. If there is some sealant which is making it difficult to remove, maybe with some care to yourself, after removing the rivets, heat the silencer in an oven to get it warm, then the sealant might be easier to pull apart.
Hope this helps.

That confirms my 2012 Repsol is a 2012 model.
Cheers chuck.

Oh forgot, must haves, Flat tank, cnc machined fuel tank base (the standard one is a heavy pressed steel job), carbon fuel hose with alloy banjo bolts, carbon brake and clutch hoses with alloy banjo bolts, a TMiles alloy front spindle spacer (to replace the speedo drive) and some decent foot pegs. I could go on, but the above reduce the weight of the bike by a fair bit and the 4RT just looks so much nicer with a flat tank.
What jj65 has said basically. ;-)

Your definitely buying the right bike, if you like shiney things and fiddling about with it! The 4RT is one of the most cattered for bikes, when it comes to buying trick parts for it. Josep Banyeres is your man, but beware, it's very addictive and drains your wallet, but it's your hard earned cash, so why not. It's a very satisfying and enjoyable bike to ride and to fiddle about with. ;-)
-
As brokeit has said, look at the filter on the bottom of the fuel pump. Be careful though, as these are not replaceable, you have to buy the whole fuel pump if you damage the tea bag filter!
Pidcocks quite often sale brand new throttle bodies, off bikes that have had a programable throttle body fitted from new, on EBay. So keep a look out, I managed to get one for just

As recommended by The importer, Castrol Power1 4T 10W-30 in engine and in Transmission, Elf HTX740, works a treat. Castrol can be be bought from the likes of Halfords and Elf is a more specialised oil, but can be bought online from the likes of BVM.
-
Also they changed the throttle body mapping after 09 and the newer bikes, I think from 2011 on wards got the lighter wheels.
-
Taffe, I use Photobucket. Upload your photos to Photobucket, then you get the option to copy a link to your reply. Very easy once you know how. ;-)
-
Have to agree, I have ridden lighter bikes, but the 4RT is a very rewarding and enjoyable bike to ride.

After the battle to get there, due to the flooded roads, it was a great day out. Excellent venue, good parking, hot food, great to try out the new bikes and watch The Atom, JR, Coxy, Wiggins and Joe Baker practicing. Of the six friends who went, three are looking to buy new bikes, giving them a great opportunity to compare the various makes and for others, food for thought for future bike purchase. We then bimbled down to the BVM shop to buy some kit.
So many thanks to Mark Kemp, the BVM lads and to all the Importers for bringing the bikes., much appreciated.
