It's interesting that you didn't need the insurance certificate, I will be getting my bike insured, but if I don't need it to get the registration in progress, I'll be doing that straight away. Hi Joe, just wondering if you have any news on the RTL silencer?

Remove the tilt switch, there are three wires in the connector, join the two outer wires together (creating a loop connection), leaving middle wire free, unconnected. This will eliminate the tilt switch, which can be trouble some. See if you get a spark now? Most people I know, run without the tilt switch and just use a lanyard kill switch. Works much better, as the tilt switch doesn't kill the engine immediately (something like 15 sec or so I think), where as a lanyard will kill engine immediately if pulled.

Would be very interested in seeing the pictures, if it's the same design as the standard, then I know a few people that would be interested. Quality is also desirable!

With the current Euro exchange rate, the UK should be one of, if not the cheapest place to buy this bike. However, knowing how Honda UK work, not very likely.

I know of a person, who has made a replacement, but unfortunately, it was a one-off, so as JJ65 says, most likely you'll have to get it repaired. Shame there's not an after market replacement, out there?

Question, is a Honda RTL 250S, 6 volt or 12 volt. Always worth noting for future reference and to help possible future search by anybody.

Question is, will it stand upto oil. Haven't had a reply from either company yet.

I have been searching the web, for images of anything like the RTL elbow grommet, as yet haven found anything similar to it. :-(

That looks very similar to the VersiMold. Hopefully one of these product will suitable, waiting on replies from both of them, on the suitability for engine, heat and oil contact.

I have been in touch with David Silver parts, it is a complete assembly, ie you've had to buy the whole generator assembly, and they are no longer available, sadly. I'm currently looking at a product called VersiMold, which is a mouldable silicon rubber, which cures when heated. The only thing I'm not to sure is if it can handle the engine temperatures, but I have sent a question to the company that makes it. If it proves to be to handle the heat and oil contact, then it will be ideal to mold into the engine case and around the wires, finger crossed.

Hi, i am getting very near to the completion of my RTL rebuild, however I am struggling to get a part to replace a damaged one. The AC Generator cable, that come out of the engine generator cover (seen in the attached photos), it has a small rubber elbow grommet, which is in very poor shape. Does anybody know if this rubber grommet can be replaced, or have any suggestions for an alternative, or to repair it? I would very greatfull for any suggestions. Many thanks.

It does say at the end of the video, "New Model". As they have already shown the 2016 Cota 260 and the Repsol Rep 260, one could presume it's either a "Special", or it's a completely new bike. Hopefully it's a completely new bike. ;-)
