  1. It's hugely sad that Honda UK have chosen the way they have, concerning dealers. However we have no say in this matter, but it would be a great shame if Honda UK don't use this opportunity to allow the buying public to try the new bike out. The uk press! had two opportunities to ride, yet at the moment, joe public, who buys the bikes, hasn't. Surely it makes marketing sense, to show and allow the bike to be tested. The well known BVM test day, is surely the perfect opportunity.
  2. One of these works well, specifically for fuel, made of plastic, you can find it on the net.
  3. Here's a couple of photos, you need to take into consideration that in the photos, my mates bike has a Mitani silencer and Mitani carbon cover, so it doesn't fit that setup without without further trimming underneath, where you can't see. But on a standard exhaust setup, it should fit. As you can see from the tank mudguard join, it is possible with a bit of modifying.
  4. Ross it will fit, tried it on my friends 2012 Mont, but around the tank it doesn't look nice, would need modifying. A skilfully used dermal would do the job probably. ;-)
  5. You have a fair point 2stroke4stroke, but we as the consumer have little impact on a huge organisation like Honda, they do what wish and what suits them. I know we have a choice in whether we buy one or not, but as a lover of 4 strokes, I tried a Beta and didn't like it, so as others have found, the 4RT is the one to have for me. I don't think they are as noisy as the motocross and enduro bikes and we tend not to be constant thrashing them at high revs as the MX and enduros do.
  6. I know St Blazey have a demo and some practice ground at the back of their shop, but maybe there might be one a the BVM test later in the month?
  7. Well thats your opinion, which your entitled to, but actually the Honda 4 stroke engine is much more advanced and environmentally friendly than most two stroke engines. The other manufacturers have tried to produce 4 stroke engines, but have given up (apart from Beta, who uses another manufactures engine), due to the high costs of a high tech modern 4 stroke. As to you saying they don't fit with modern requirements, I have to disagree, the new 260 4RT is selling well in Europe, even though they are more expensive. They fit mine and many others requirements very well. ;-) The 4 stroke may not be everyone's cup of tea, but at least we have a choice, life would be boring if we all rode the same bike. ;-)
  8. Looks wise the Termi is one to have, but actually the Mitani is lighter and cheaper. Both are slightly louder than the standard pipe. If price is not a problem, go for the Termi, you can choose from either a stainless steel header or a Titanium header. The only only concern with the Termi, would be crash damage, although Mitani do make a Carbon skin to protect the silencer. The Mitani is mainly Titanium construction, so is very light and you can buy two types of carbon covers.
  9. The new Mont 260 is definitely worth considering, it's brilliant. :-) If possible, try and get a test ride of each bike, then you will be able to decide yourself.
  10. Billy, just going to get the triple clamps powder coated and that's it. Fitted the Mitani Titanium front header pipe, Mitani titanium sidestand and fitted a lanyard kill switch, but to be honest, that's probably all I'm doing. They look so nice standard and the black triple clamps will finish it off. Have you got yours yet?
  11. Nice one Phil, you certainly got the old chins wagging, but good to hear you are going to ride the new bike, good on you, enjoy. :-)
  12. I know it's a free market and you can do as you like, buts it's a shame that someone bought this bike, just to sell it on straight away for profit! Would of been nice, if someone who really wanted one to ride, got it, instead of a profiteer!
  13. Few, thank god I got mine, you'd have to be extremely desperate to pay that price. Start of the new year, their probably be easier to get hold of. I was told that Montesa have been surprised that the Repsol's are selling more than the standard bike and they are having difficulty meeting the demand! Seems a lot still want the Showa suspension and although the standard bike looks very nice, obviously lots want the Repsol, which looks stunning. ;-)
  14. Excellent service by St Blazey, thanks for staying around Steve, until we arrived this evening, much appreciated. Very happy to have the new 2014 Repsol now in my hands and looking forward to getting out it. :-)
  15. Sounds good Hughesy, nice to hear it's not just cosmetic changes, but real performance benefits.
  16. Nice one Dave, Termi suits it, but not so sure about all the extra orange, but it's your bike, if you like it, why not. Looking forward to getting mine very, very soon. ;-)
  17. UK press day today, why they need to have another one I don't know, the journalist have already had a ride over in Italy back in July! Would of been better PR for Honda Montesa, if they'd had a test day for Joe public, surely. Their the ones who will buy the bike, not the journalist!
  18. Good to know they are coming with the full complement or parts, unlike the previous version. Many people who bought the last version, didn't get all the correct Repsol parts! Really looking forward to getting mine sometime soon! But look forward to hearing your views hughesy, when you get out on it at the weekend.
  19. Hughsey, I see from Mickey Oates Facebook pictures that the Repsol's have number plates on the front. Did you not get the Repsol headlight?
  20. We expect a full rundown on it and pictures by Saturday evening. ;-)
  21. Still waiting for my new Repsol, which one did you order, standard or Repsol? Haven't heard anything from my dealer yet, so will look forward to hearing your views on the new bike.
  22. Nice report Ludde, wish they would hurry up and deliver the UK bikes. So much for Honda UK's promise, of a early October delivery!
  23. Chomping at the bit, still waiting. UK launch is 23rd of October!
  24. From what I believe, there was only about 60 HRC 260's, so I'd imagine they would of all been sold, as it was a Japan only model. Although Josep Banyeres did have some for sale.
