  1. Thank you for the help, I'll get some of the Dextron oil and A replace/flush then B replace, as i said trial bikes are new to me after years of road riding it's a steep learning curve but great fun
  2. Hi Folks, sorry to be back picking your brains again, I have a Gas gas JTX 250 1996 (ish) I've had the bike a few months now and as my introduction into trials it's serving me well However recently I've been experiencing trouble selecting neutral form either 1st or 2nd gear at first I couldn't get neutral using my foot so opted to use my hand, not ideal but it worked But now the gear lever is so hsrd to mve that the only way to get neutral is to kill the motor then I can get neutral all day long I've adjusted the clutch lever so that the bite point is closer in and also adjusted the loose chain, but still the problem continues Would it be the clutch itself or maybe something like the gearbox oil or even the gearbox itself ?? Thanks in advance for any help offered
  3. Have got some 30mm risers, will be fitting them tomorrow and hopefully have aspin to see what difference they make
  4. Hi Folks, I'm after some help if possible, I have a Gasgas JTX250 (1997ish), it has Renthal 660 bars on it which I find to be abit low, mainly because at 6'2" it feels to me that too much of my body weight is over the bars. My friend has a Montesa which has higher bars which after measuring is 2" higher than mine, which feels alot nicer to ride and control My question is should I replace my handlebars ? If so what would you consider a good replacement that will give me extra height, or, would a better option be to fit bar risers ? Many thanks in advance for your help
  5. Hi all Did my first trial yesterday with the Waltham Chase club, the day started of with some training but sadly i'm useless with names so couldn't tell you his name Steve something, & I can only remember his first name as it's the same as mine !! Learn't so much, I didn't realise just how much fun it would be, I felt aprehensive on the way but for no reason as it turned out to be a great day, after some grub and a much needed rest it was time for my first attempt at doing it for real. Did the yellow route which was challenging enough, but blinking good fun, couple of feet down but hey it was my 1st time and I loved it Got home very tired and looking forward to the next time, with a few alterations to my bike needing done I hope to improve on my next attempt Thank you to Waltham Chase club, Steve (thingy) for the training, and everybody else for all the kind words of encourgement along with very usefull tips
  6. Thank you for your help, I'll go get some fully synthetic 2 stroke tomorrow, would Halfords do the Putoline ?
  7. Hi folks I'm new to trials bikes and so would like to ask what is probaly a silly question, basically which is the best oil to mix with my petrol ? I have a Gasgas JTX 250 which I am currently using petrol mixed with 2 stroke oil for my chainsaws etc thank you in advance for your answers
  8. I too am new to trials bikes, I'm 6'1" and who knows what I wiegh, I managed to find a really nice Gasgas fortuna JTX 250 on fleabay, the bike is bloody fantastic for me just the right amount of power and perfect gearing, it looks normal as in not tricked up with flashy plastics, wheels, trim etc which I feel would make the bike look even more capable than me ! Good luck in finding the right bike and have fun
