Yeah, everything seems good, still had the cross hatching marks in the cylinder with no signs of scoring...maybe lucky it did not sieze up

Back in the day of just air cooled....suprised the cylinder and piston did not sieze up
-
No base left, just the shaft and cir-clip.....wonder if it was a factory f&$% up?

What year Evo?
Just went through hell with my 2011....base and cylinder gaskets and then later found out I had no impeller blade to push the coolant.
If it is just the head gasket it should not be too bad as the cam assembly can stay in place.
If it is the two gaskets below you need to pull out the impeller shaft (thats how I found out I had no blade) to pull the cam and chain out of the way to pull the cylinders off. I had a Beta dealer mechanic do the work and reset the valves while they where at it.
Just waiting on the impeller balde now to finish up the job.

Had some cylinder gaskets leaking on my 2011 Evo 4t. Bike ran fine, but hot. Went to the dealer and we replaced the leaking cylinder gaskets only to find out that the impeller blade that moves the coolant was missing.
Not sure how, as the guy I bought the bike off of assures me he did not remove it.
Have these blades disintegrated in the past, as there is not any real residue or plastic parts hanging around?
Anyone else having these issues? Attached a jpg image of where the blade should be.
Thanks, and keep your feet up.

Saw a ridder doing this once and it made alot of sense. At an event, try practicing around the section, not in it, but around the section, out of the way of other riders before you ride it. It will get you use to the terrain, and help you loose a bit of those pre jitters.
More peg time with just the basics does wonders as well.

Great stuff....logs are always more forgiving than rocks...

Just going through a used Beta 2011 Evo 4t and tightening some bolts and what not. Happen to notice that the bolts on the triple trees where not very tight, I used a basic socket ratchet wrench with metric allen head to tighten them.
I don have a Nm torque wrench so I am kind of guessing as to the amount of force to torque these (two on top and three on the bottom) bolts down...can they be over tightened? I just do not want to strip the bolts or cause them to snap if they are over tightened.
Thanks, any information would be appreciated.

How can I change my user name

Do rim stickers provide any protection to the rims, aminly getting scratched up from rocks?
Or are they just ornamental?
Thanks

Yep, had the previous owner send them over....did you glue yours back in? Is it ok to leave them out?
-
Thanks, any idea of what the torque specs are?

I just picked up a used 2011 Beta 300 Evo 4t. Bike runs great, starts easy, no smoke and runs clean. When the bike sits for a few day I notice a bit of weeping oil (?) around the base and cylinder head gasket. It is not a lot, very minor.
Is this normal or should it stay completely dry?
Thanks

Just picked up a used 2011 Evo 4t. Just love the bike. Are there suppost to be screens under the vent holes in the rear mudguard? Not sure?

Nice bike, plan on picking up a used 2009 Evo 4t....wondering if the new 2013 rear fender would fit?
-
Will the newer 2012 and 2011 plastic fenders and so forth fit a 2009 EVO 4t....
Thanks

Just think of it as a challenge of hopping without stoping....
-
Thanks, I found it easier to be on the bike moving and set up than to just hop on a stationary bike and try to hop....make sense about pushing off of the front.
-
Thanks, makes sense, more peg time on my part and just trying to paint a visual picture oof shifting my weigh back over th erear will help.
-
Just started to get the movement of hopping the front end. I use my knees, rear brake, bend forward, compress the forks and straighten knees on the rebound while slightly pulling one side of the handle bars up. This works fairly well, the frnt gets to move, but not very high.
I was told to use the front brake before compressing the forks....I have tried this and it messes me all up...is this the correct technique I should be trying to do or just keep with what works for me...kind of new here, so I want to be on the right path.
Thanks

Sherco 2.5

New to trials, really having fun with my 07 Sherco 2.5. I have a few ramps and wooden skids set up to ride over and doing ok. Been upside down a few times going over the 4 footsections.
Being new to this sport I am having some wrsit and shoulder pain due in part to my age 50+but was wondering if I am doing something wrong to have this pain or is it kind of normal due to the up right riding position?
Thnx

How often do the seals need to be replaced? Will not using the bike during cold weather/snow have any negative effects? I understand about when the seal gets crud in it or damaged and so forth, but typically how long should they last?
Thanks, new to the feet-up scene.
