Hi All,
As you may have seen on previous posts regarding my son and his 125 I have now decided to get him on an 80. Im not sure which one though as Gas Gas have 3 models. On looking at the Gas Gas site he would be better off with the Cadet as this appears to have the 21" front and 19" rear wheels or may be the rookie would be better.
He is a really good rider so im not sure what to go for.
Can any one advise please.
Thanks N

Now thats more like it...

Thanks for the replies peeps...
Nigel/SDC: Yes he can ride out of class but iv been told he still has to ride an 80...
Fat*******: Tried one on Saturday and he hated it... He rides the Sherco 125 Cabastany Replica and loves it apart from when he drops it...
Ill have a look into local clubs that my let him ride a 125 although Im pretty sure its an insurance issue...

Hi All,
I want a bit of advice here for my 10 year old son. He rides a 125 well and wants to compete but was 10 on the 20/4/2012 and born on the 20/4/2002 making him a class C junior according to the ACU handbook. As a Class C junior he can only ride a maximum 80cc bike, only missing the age gap by 3 months.
Is this ruling set in stone or can the organisers/chairman of trials events have the final say at their discretion? or will he have to wait until hes 13 to ride a 125...
Thanks

Hi Hugo,
Deffo check the cable routing as this is often the cause. New cable can sort it.

Lovely looking bike matey, is that the new 2012...?
-
My 2010 seems fine filter always stays dry.
-
I think your right Zero...the Gasser does feel strange when I get on them but the gearing is smoother. Its all about rider ability too Lineaway but the Gassers just seem to be smoother.
-
Yes I noted they had six gears too. One of the riders I ride with had a Sherco and said it was a great bike but when he was ready to buy again he went for the Gasser and things he couldnt do on the Sherco he could do on the Gasser. I have ridden a few and they are nice bikes but I suppose you get used to your own bike. Ill have another go on a few this weekend coming...

Hi AL,
I was'nt sure which section to put this post in either Sherco or Gas Gas, but here goes. I have been riding my Sherco 290 for over 3 months now and really getting on well with it but on seeing others ride Gas Gases they are always in a lower gear than me. On talking to the Gas Gas riders a few have had Shecos and switched to the Gas Gas because they said it was a better bike to ride and easer, more balanced and the gearing was better too. Im a pretty good clubman rider and the guys riding Gas Gases are better than me but have been riding longer. One an Expert and the other a good clubman rider. Does any one on here agree or is there not much in the two bikes...?

Hi All,
I dont have a manual for my 290 2010 so wondered if I can get one. Also what engine oil do you use, how much and how often do you change it.
Thanks

Hi All
I have a new 16 36V Oset and im not sure about the batteries... On full charge they last for about 40 minutes to an hour then the light drops from 3 to 2 and the power reduces considerably.
My son rode it yesterday at trials practise and thats when we noticed the power drop after 40 minutes although he was riding in the wet mud. The same happened today but he was running mainly on tarmac hence the 60 minutes before drop out. I charged it up fully overnight last night and it seems to have lasted a bit longer, we will have another go tomorrow.
Is the sudden drop in power normal...?

Hi All,
Can anyone confirm that the LEDs on the charger should be flashing...? Red flashing when charging, Green flashing when charged.
Thanks
N
All sorted. Red LED was flashing when charging but solid green when charged...

Hub bolts are fine... Went well today at Betchwood Quarry.
