  1. Yes I will be going to the neta ride at Galway,NY.The terrain there is very rocky lots of nice boulders.Just the kind of stuff you Dirty Dabbers like.Do you know if the Dielhs are coming up.Let me know if you need any more imfo.Jim

  2. Glen I have been doing most hillclimbs using 2 nd. gear.Because 3rd seemed to run out of power mid way up climb and have shift down to second anyway.Seems a good run at hill helps out no matter what gear you start out in.I have found first gear will climb most anything but a bit slow.Jim

  3. All three of factory Montesa had mode switches at the US world round.Talked to mechanics about this soft power for the the calm parts of section mode 2 for high reving power. In practice you could observe fuji switching from mode 1 to mode 2 for the big stuff. Jim

  4. I have just completed the 05 national US series with my SY 175 scorpa.I got the bi ke in march little break in time because of snow on ground.Went to Tenn.in april to ride two nationals there.Pretty much broke bike in down there,no trouble at all.Next trip to world round with team Scorpa.Run the crap out of bike at Duluth all week with team.Next up some local club events, bike getting good and broke in by now still no problems.Changed oil after tenn.nationals put in full syn.I am a former sy 250 owner so I do like to go fast on loop run the crap out of little bike no problems. Most of my big rides have been in temps of 80 +F and no problems with heat. These last two weeks completed four nationals I used two gallons of gas and still have some left.I had hill climb in NY. that was a bit steep but little motor pulled it well a bit slow but we made it.I could not ask for a more reliable machine and the bike still looks like new. Most of these rides where in rocky areas only broke two levers and a chain tensioner. The stock skid pan protected everything fine. All in all I had a great time riding the little bike and showing people you do not need the big motor and water cooling to compete on.Thanks to Mike Komer at the Tryals Shop for his support the season was great. Thanks Jim Reilly ;)

  5. Has anyone tryed orange cdi box from scorpa racing parts.I have one to put on my 175 .It is supposed to increase power a bit. Also was with team Scorpa at WR and Scorpa Mechanic, minder told me clutch unit from scorpa of spain works as good as sy 250 unit. You can see it at there web site.It is not available from Scorpa it is a complete AJP unit. Jim

  6. mik60ish,I changed the oil in my sy 175 I used spectro full syn,10w 40w.Ran a trial this weekend seemed to work fine.Have you done any thing to carb. And I would like to change throttle to be quicker like motocross bike so when you need a handful you dont have to turn wrist so far.Have you noticed this.Let me know other things you have found. Thanks Jim

  7. I helped team Scorpa at the last two USA World Rounds and Fumi spent a lot of time getting that rear fender bent up as much as possible.Even took to motel at night to work on it with hair dryer.JR

  8. Aaron I have a flywheel on the shelf at home.I was about to put on e-bay to sell.I will weigh it and let you .I will send it to you from tenn. with one of your club riders,as I will not see you guys until the end of May.Jim

  9. I met Martin a few years ago over here in the states. He came over and rode four nationals for the Tryals Shop that year on the new sy.He was a treat to watch ride made the big rocks look like pebbles. He won one of those four nationals on the Scorpa .He is a great guy and I am sure he will enjoy just being able to ride again.JR

  10. Vinnie So you got to ride the 175 in a real trial and gave it a true test.I have not ridden it yet.But like you I am in the 150 lbs range and A senior rider.I am confident it will do steps and boulders with no problem.I found riding my buddys 143 you just have to set up a bit early and give it the revs.Ilike the way it feels on the loop trail very smooth and light feeling in the air.JR

  11. Steve I ride a 2003 sy 250 this will be number three sy for me.I dont htink I will get much time on it untill the spring .Hopefully in tenn. at the nationals in april. We are pretty froze up around here with - 10 f. temp the other night. But I will post my input when I can.JR

  12. I am sure Mike at the Tryals shop has them.I will see him this weekend and tell him to se if he got your e-mail.We put them on Nozaki and Breuand bikes for the World round in the states this year. They really liked them .

    Later JR

  13. I think if he rode expert all season give him the number plate.Besides these

finish numbers mean nothing to most people but a few in the group. If you only ride half the events your finish down on the list if you ride them all your finish is going to be much higher. It is not always the best rider on top but the one who rode the most events to win it.JR
