  1. Cheers Mike, Looks like T&T could be getting another order soon then.
  2. Have you tried the Haynes site? Don't know about the 250's for sure but fairly sure I've seen one. I know they did one which covered the 50, 80, 125 & 175cc twin shocks as I have a copy. I'm sure if you search you'll find a workshop manual you can download somewhere on the web. Or at least the exploded diagrams. It took a while but managed to locate one for the 350 mono which sufficed for my needs with the 250 mono I restored last year. Hope this helps.
  3. Cheers Steve, I thought of that but would have expected it to be lateral play like road bikes ie toward & away from the hub. This play is in the opposite plane ie. clockwise / anti clickwise as you look at the disc. It doesn't appear to have an adverse affect on the braking, just don't want to cause any further problems.
  4. You could also try http://yambits.co.uk Bought a few TY80 parts from them recently and found them goof to deal with.
  5. Hi there, think I'll do some more pottering about and make time to go see some more observed trials before I take the plunge, but I'll be looking to get my ACU license in the meantime. Having just thrown my leg over the Beta I'm enjoying getting used to the differences. Had a browse of the Bradford site and read the blog with interest thank you.
  6. Hey yeah thank you, will be checking that out. Was wondering if Bradford still had it's own trials club. Apartment from taking my grandson to the Scott a couple of weeks ago (One of my bucket list things for years too). I've not been to an organized trial since I was a lad and the Hirst brothers were late teens!
  7. Cheers Ben? I found them t'other night when browsing through. I mustn't have looked hard enough thy h or searched for the right thing. Was using beta rev3 seals or similar. Looks to be AJP Late type 2 pot rear brake caliper rebuild kit I need but will check with them tomorrow.
  8. Hi, am in the same predicame, but more for cold wet Winter riding than what I look like! I've tried a pair of these on at happy Appy's in Keighley. They're comfortable enough and would accommodate knee protection. Think they have them marked up at
  9. Hi, New to modern trials bikes and found needing replacement seals (5) for the rear caliper. Can I just buy the seals or do I have to buy a service kit and if so, where from? My daughter went for a little potter around on Sunday she's not ridden a bike of any description since she was 7, about 20 years ago. Watched her come back down the field and was shocked to see a lot of smoke coming from the back if the bike. (Too much 2-stroke? Mixture problem?) When she pulled up all became clear. She'd inadvertently had her foot on the rear brake as she'd ridden round! I knew brakes could get hot, even glow, I've seen it on road bikes. This wasn't just hot, it was on fire, yellow, green and many other coloured flames all licking out from the caliper! Pulled the caliper down last night, only a drop of fluid left in it or the brake pipe. The pads are shot and all the seals are crispy. Think the fluid and copper back plates of t huh e pads explains the 'pretty' flames. Luckily, the disc is blued but not warped and the pistons and caliper look to be OK and have cleaned up well. Any advice appreciated.
  10. Hi to all, from a damp and blustery Bratford (spelling intentional). Bikes are in my blood, although I've had an on/off relationship with them for years (sometimes literally). Mainly road bikes up to the last year or so. Name's Graeme, born n raised in Bradford just like the Scott. Bought a TY80 for my 2 year old grandson about 5 years ago. It was at the right money and I thought he'd grow into it. Virtually his first word was 'bike'! Got him started on it on his own on his 7th birthday in July. He's getting on fine and worryingly or not, shows no fear. I bought a TY250 mono '96 from a friend last year and spent a while restoring it to a pretty smart, but rideable trials iron. Having been, I suppose, 'bitten' by the bug, I also took delivery of an '02 Beta 250 Rev3 on Sunday. It's the only 'modern' trials iron I've had the pleasure of throwing my leg over and I do like it, a lot! Think that brings our impromptu collection of bikes to 12. Our being the wife & I. Big Rossi fan. Love the TT but prefer the Manx. Drink real ale, love all kinds of music but rock/metal the most. Was an active diver till around 08, would still dive, just don't find the time or money somehow. Like walking in the hills and dales. We have more pets than a small zoo. Work for Openreach. That's pretty much me. Cheers.
