Dude, cracking day!
You see the sleepless night wasn't necessary (remember the first HCTC trial at Clyro )
A trial like this back in the county has been a long time coming (I vaguely remember something about a strongbow fueled house warming at Simon and Mary's when you had already formulated this plan)
The sections I managed to see (last week laying out with yourself and Trevor and the two groups we observed [err well Jess did!..]) were absolutely superb, typical classic trials sections. Saw mostly smiles all day, the only exceptions were when the colour drained from their faces upon seeing some of the steps . Some of the biggest smiles were from the observers upon receiving their breakfast...good grief glad the missus didn't see that she wouldn't feed me for a week if she had!
I have to say the highlight of the day for me was watching Peter Gaunt take a line up section 12 (Little Cefn) that no-one else had thought of!
Congratulations on getting this running, but don't count on me observing next year though..... I am hoping one of the TY's should be sorted by then, ready for another high score.

BUMP
Doin do'nuts and chips so as to have enough fuel to get home
-
Pop me down for a section I can park my rolling tea urn next to!
Been a while coming looking forward to seeing the hard work (for many years) come to fruition for this one.
Shame I can't remember the url for the website for the Traders Trial sections pictures, could create some interest .

Although we are a classic club we did run a mono class. It's ommision was due to some computer problems my end. My computer stopped recognising the keyboard! Its not easy constructing e-mails using cut and paste with a mouse!!
I trust everyone had a good time.
The plan is to run something like 4 trials this year but due to the workloads of both myself and the Chairman we cannot guarantee this unfortunately....unless any other club member fancies setting one up?.......please??

YO Dude... sorry Bo just got back from riding waves not streams!! Got a frame in the garage, if you got a motor lets see what we can do....would at least ease my clutch control problems!!
-
Hfd/Cots going slowly at the mo, now thinking of putting two mono units on the back to see the reaction!!!
The hardest person to beat is the person riding at your own level, on your own bike.....
-
Bo Drinker, If you wanna do it go for it (physics and mechanics allowing).
Reckon it's more important to have a bit of fun than get caught up in the rules and regulations thing. How many older bikes do you reckon are "out of the box"? OK there are things that some folks disagree with but, I'm with Darwin....Things evolve!
Pretty sure they won't mind!!

These folks do fasteners,
http://www.tastynuts.com/site/frameset.htm
(looks like a dodgy site but trust me!!) They may be able to point you in the direction of your local supplier.
-
mmmm! might rattle a bit!! OR if you sleeve it DOWN to 200
Thanks for answering the question, ya dunno til ya ask. Saved me doing hours of research I can spend the time in the garage now
-
I have heard a that a TY 175 can go out to 200 by using a piston from the RD 400. Would the extra work going out to 205 be worth it if this works?....Does it work?
-
For what it's worth my opinion about seat and tank is with MAJMAN, the miller thing hardly fits the TY it was designed for let alone a real frame.
-
Personally I think its a great idea, whilst I (as most) have a bunch of friends of varying abilities, from novice to annoying!!
I found this a while back and found it useful, http://www.trials.com.au/contributions/trialman.php but I am sure that it is not comprehensive.
I am always up for a few tips!!
Go for it and good luck

Ooh post no 13 couldn't leave it at that, not normally that superstitious but given the thread had do summat......

Good to see such interest. If you know what the area is like you will know it's criminal to not use it!
It'll be great to see!
Mmmmmmwaahhahahahah the HCTC plan for world domination is another step closer

Look forward to seeing y'all
-
ooooh but there's a lot of paper work and walking to be done to get a road trial running!! PAH!
Couldn't get to Craswall this time but it is a cracking venue, with plenty more surrounding it as a couple of you have seen
Bistlu,(that'll be Pitley now!!!?) myself and a few others have been looking at the area for a while now (another madcap scheme in mind! ) A lot of people seem to think that we wouldn't get the riders in! What do you think?
However it is progressing in the right direction.......Bistlu (Pitley) is doing a good deal towards it ....
Hope to see a few of you Sunday at Mansell Lacy, remember its only a fiver to join the club

Thanks Gordon,
Information much appreciated, I can get on with that next time I'm on afternoons now!
Thanks again
Mike

Hi Folks,
Can anyone help me out with a small prob, I'm modding a XL185 engine and need to change the main bearings. Looking at the gear for the cam timing I can't remember seeing a key or any other method of re-aligning the gear after its taken off to replace the bearing. Any hints or tips other than remembering where one of the teeth lines up to a characteristic on the crank?
Please excuse the vagueness I haven't seen parts recently as they are at work and due to a "five" laying out our last trial the NHS said I couldn't go back there for a while!!
Any help here would be great

Regarding your fuel tap. I have always turned off my fuel tap on all my bikes following an incident where I managed to fill the crank case on an old two stroke trail bike. Since then I have considered it good practice.....Jeez that was along way home!!
-
YO Bistlu (off thread---picture didn't work then! Darn and its such a good likeness!!) Been drooling over Majesty bits on aforementioned site, still trying to drag wifey upstairs to look [should prob move pc out of baedroom may create more interest!!]
