Hi Mick,
Welcome!
I live in Leeds, there are a few places to ride around here, I ride at Bumpy in Howden clough every weekend. There is home farm at tong, swaine wood at horsforth and west Leeds hold trials at post hill near wickes. I'm sure there's more though. I ride a gas gas, started with a 125 last year, now got a 300 (still trying to tame it).
The only kit I use is obviously the helmet and boots, a must have! And a pair of gloves, everything else I'll slowly get along the way.
-
Apparently you can fit a 200 piston and barrel straight on.
-
Hi Matt,
I have a 300 gas gas and my mate has the 290 evo, both great bikes, I believe it's all down to individual preference.
I rode the beginner trials at bumpy this year with a few easy routes on club championship rounds for a bit more experience, not much difference really, theyve finished now til February but they're open all year, we'll be there most Sundays riding a few sections for fun.
-
Love it! I'll be there again in an hour!
-
FIXED IT!
It was the pipe on the carb, I thought I was fixing a fault by replacing it but I was just making one. Next time if it's not broke don't fix it! Lesson learnt,
Cheers all for all your help.
-
I put them on my old bike definitely made a difference, not got them on my new bike and my arms ache for the 1st 20 mins riding.
-
I put a head spacer in, it's been fine since then, maybe I trapped the o rings? The cooling fan is working fine, I put a new jitsie air filter in- straight swap surely? I noticed the pipe that goes from one side of the Carb round to the other side had a big hole in it so I swapped it. Ever since that it's flooded? I've got a new NGK plug in it
-
Still same??? And now I think my water pump seal has gone, coolant emulsified and gear oil looks a bit milky, is there anything else it could be? Could this cause the flooding?
-
Thanks for the replies,
It didn't just Stop dead, it sort of bogged out, like it tried to rev but No noise. I took the Carb to bits today and found the o ring the sits on the jet that sits in the float bowl trapped, I replaced it and rebuilt it, it seemed OK but I didn't have much time to try, Ill let you know tomorrow, fingers crossed
-
Trials uk in horsforth, Leeds, or tee bee in Morley,Leeds, tee bee is moto x shop but should be able to help
-
This is the first time I've run it since I fit a new Jitsie air filter, all I did is swap the filters, should I of made some adjustments too?
-
Everything I took the plug out it was soaking wet with fuel
-
Do all the jets screw in tight or are any set at certain turns out or anything? I just took Carb off in car park today but didn't touch jets
-
I was out today on my txt pro 300, not had it out for 3 week, it started fine, then started to cut out, it would slowly die and flood, it would start up and be fine then do it again. I took the carb off (with the limited tools I had) everything looked fine, put it all back and put in a new plug. Fired straight up and did it again. Any ideas lads?
-
Hi, Yeah this is normal, you have 'floating discs on it, there is some bushes you can get to replace depending on the amount of movement
-
Yeah, it can't be that bad or surely you wouldn't consider riding it? The tyre must still be seated correctly too? Ride on!
-
And keep your fingers out if the way while you pop the bead on at them pressures!
-
Yeah that's what I've got, a number plate screw at bottom in middle quite loose and 2 cable ties at side, I've always snapped the tie or it pulls the teeth out of it, believe me I've flipped it a few times! Especially now I've gone from 125 to 300
-
Yeah I replaced my rear mudguard bolts with cable ties, everything I flip it, it snaps these rather than the guard, still nice and secure too
-
I'm hoping it is my adjustment, I only meant would the plates swell if I went from atf to light gear oil,
-
Hi, I don't think your sprockets are the problem, it's your technique, unless you're 35 stone! look on you tube for Ryan Young or trials training centre, you will get a lot of help from there,
-
I've got really bad drag on my clutch,I know this is common on these, but I couldn't even do a section for it stalling at weekend, it's got atf in from when I got it, if I change it to light gear oil will I have to change the clutch?will the plates be contaminatedand swell?
-
As the title states... how do you guys clean inside your skid lids? Mine has become a bit smelly and I'm not sure how to clean it.
-
Have you tried back bleeding it from the slave cylinder up to the master cylinder, I had the same problem with mine, took ages to do, Have you used the correct oil as well?
