Anyone know of a good source for bushings, seals, and dust boots?
Thank You,

Klotz 15/50 Techniplate full syn. seems to do the trick just fine.

The really sad part is if it is not true it will soon be. I know that right now there is a new law coming into effect that will not allow any sale of secondhand items that may contain lead unless they have been put through a testing process and approved. This means that secondhand stores, whether it be clothing , toys ect. all have to pay to have their stock tested before they can sell. That pretty much puts the second hand industry out of business. They can not afford this process and still be able to sell their product at discount prices. This basically means more businesses closing their doors.
We get a lot of my daughters things at a local family owned Second Hand Shop. Clothing, toys, school supplies. Most things still have the tags on them from new. Most of the time the only difference from getting things new from the retail shop and this place is the price you pay. The owner has told us that this new law will force the business to go under. In a time where everyone could use some help in the wallet area this seems more along the lines of "Insult To Injury".
Is it any wonder why the US is in the shape its in? It blows my mind that we keep electing these people to "Run our Country" into the ground.
When will we learn? Anyone remember, Of the People By the People For the People?

I was watching a short interview with Dupont and he said he had ridden National and World Trials Events. Said he didnt feel he had the Soul of a Trials Rider. Guess thats why he is doing his own thing.
Anyone seen Dupont compete? How did he stack up against our current crop of competitors? He is the right age to to fit in with the big boys.
Just curious!

Pull the motor out of the bike. Remove flywheel first. You will need a puller. Remove the entire top end. Should have nothing more than the Con. Rod hanging out. Pack clean shop rags around the Rod to keep it from moving much. Kickstarter and shifter must be removed along with case bolts. Remove entire clutch and basket along with clutch and waterpump housing. With all the bolts removed you can carefully pry apart the cases. A lot of tapping with a rubber mallet not wedging screwdrivers to pry things apart.
That will get you to the transmission. If you have never done anything like this before I would recommend having someone who has help out. A lot of clips and retainers involved and the slightest miss fit or alignment and things wont go back together properly. You will also want the internal motor breakdown paperwork.

That would be the plan, at least for now.
Now my Vintage weapon and modern ride will all be of the 4 stroke denomination.

Got 2 REV 4s coming. Still not sure I will like them better than the 270's but I have head said "change is good". Guess we will see.

Very Interesting, thanks guys.
Its weird, I have had the opportunity lately to play on everything except a new Sherco 4t. I even had all the bikes at my disposal at the same time along with my 270 Beta. Every time I think the 4t can out do my 270 I hop back on the 270 and have a go only to find out that I can do as good or better on the 270.
I really want to make the switch but I question my reasons.

Would any of you folks that have switched to 4 strokers since 05 consider going back 2 stroke if the price or circumstance was right?
What if anything would make you change back to 2 stroke?
Aaron
-
Where is the crack? How did it crack? Never seen a cracked Beta frame. I have actually had to replace one but that bike experienced major trama. It bent but didnt crack.

Welcome Larry. Check us out at ntrtrials.com. Lots of great trials in the area. If you need anything drop me an email. Im in Corning NY and have some really great riding in the backyard. You are welcome any time. I think we will be doing 3 events here this season and at least one school. Hope to see you.

Thanks Guys. I did a forum search before I ask this and it came back with nothing.
I assumed that about halfway up the site glass was good but noticed it puked some out once it warmed up. Looks like this is common with the PRO.

How many cc's of oil in the gear case?
Thank,
Aaron

I have been informed that there is a Mikuni replacement for the RTL 250. Sounds like they are using a 24mm flat side. Anyone know anything about this? Finding the carb is no problem but I have no clue about the jetting.

You are taking a huge risk wishing anyone here in the USA a Merry Christmas. That is no longer PC. You could offend the masses by being so bold as to wish Happieness and Good Will toward your fellow man. Its possible a Holy War could spark up at any point now.
My 5 year old daughter and all her classmates were not allowed to have a Christmas party and sing Carols. It might offend someone. Store Clerks are no longer allowed to say anything but Happy Holidays. Its maddness I tell you. I can only imagine how horrible it must be for a non Christmas celebrating person to be wished Merry Christmas and Happy New year by someone who does happen to pertake in the holliday. It must be horrible to have people be nice to one another for a change.
With that being said I would wish all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Cant argue a bit. I like the 270 better though. Been riding them since 2000. Ever time I try the 250 I find the 270 easier to ride. More low end grunt without the revs plus more up top when I want it. I like the occasional 4th gear hill climb. The flip side of the equation is that Im a huge clutch rider. I cant do anything without the clutch.
If you are good with the clutch and that fits your riding style you can tame a 270 with ease. If you ride a little more to the Old School clutchless style than you might not get along as well with the 270.

Anyone see that Trials bikes will be moved to a different class next season? Our boys will no longer be given the chance to compete against the best in the business unless they ride Moto X bikes.
Along the same path Moto X bikes will not be able to run Trials treads any longer.
I just lost all interest I had with this upcoming sport.

Where are you at and what happened to it. We rebuild them. Usually about $100.00 plus shipping.
Aaron
-
Wow Mr. Shannon. I cant believe you made the change. What made the decision for you?
Aaron
-
Should be straight up and down if its the same as the 2 strokers.
