He's got carbon ones also, but they ain't cheap

Maybe it was a bad combination with the previous oil...
-
Are you speaking from experience with the Silcolene?
Because I've used the similar GRO Gear Extreme 75W light gear oil and it's even a little better than the Elf oil.
By the way, look at the specs of the different light gear oils, they are very similar.
-
My apologies too, I saw too late you're from Down below
-
Great video! Seems like the TRS is giving Raga wings

I think they mean the green SKF fork seals, should be very good quality with low friction.
The seals below are for the the Showa forks:

These are forthe Tech forks:

Yep, silkolene gear oil light sae 75 is the right type of oil for the gearbox, it's the same kind of oil as the prescribed Elf HTX 740.
Any good brand 10W40 motorcycle oil will do for the engine, but I also use the Castrol Power 1

Derbi sure was, (and still is) a big company.
I've just read in 'Spanish Trial Bikes' that it was the intention that Derbi would save Bultaco from bankruptcy, by means of a takeover in the early 80's.
-
The chain size for most trials bikes is 520 (except for some small engined or older twin shock bikes)
http://www.trialscentral.com/forums/topic/58263-recommend-me-a-chain/
DID has got a narrow light X-ring chain, the 520 VT2
-
As far as I can see it's 250 € or 188 £
H&D Racing also sels them with mounting bolts and banjo bolt for the brake line in Titanium http://www.handdracing.co.uk/userimages/procart2.htm
Another advantage of the Nissin master cylinder is that the construction is much more robust compared to a Braktec (or AJP)
" I'd like to know exactly what's different from a 2000 era rm or the 07+ crf-r Nissins."
As long as the piston bore diameter is the same, it should be ok.

I only forgot to add the phrase DOH! to my post.

I stand corrected. ( must have been sleeping when that came up at the training course from work. )
Thanks to the internet and PSchrauber among others, I get smarter every day.
Thanks.

For those wishing to participate in the wonderful two-day Classic Clubman trial in Aywaille on 26 and 27 March, may starting tomorrow, January
10, find the registration form on their website http://www.rlmoa.be/
Attention! the subscriptions of this popular trial are limited.
And there are no enrollment mails sent to attendees of last year!
-
It's also a personal thing. I like sharp brakes on my mountain bike as well as on my trial motorcycle.
I'm just an intermediate rider and the Nissin master cylinder never got me in trouble.
-
Do they pre stretch chains like cables? I doubt it.
As far as I know, chains only lengthen because of the wear between the pins and bushes.
They use steel with higher tensile strength to withstand higher loads and surface treatment, like shot peening, to reduce wear.
-
I've got the standard heavy black DID 520 NZ chain on my Bultaco.
My 350 is powerfull enough
And I lube the chain frequent and can't remember when I had to adjust it.
I almost don't degrease my chain, this ensures that lube in the links, doesn't get washed away totaly, because it takes at least two greasings to build that lube film back on.
I had the 520ERS2 on my 4RT and it was also one of the best chains I had (haven't tried a Renthal yet though)
But they are expensive.
EDIT:My apologies, the DID 520 NZ chain isn't just a standard chain as I thought: http://www.didchain.com/standardChains.html

I think it's to replace the steel heat shield (baffle) that sits between the exhaust header and the electronics that sit on top of the gearbox.
Edit: (thanks to Sportsawyer) baffle replaces 11206-NN4-000 "PLATE, CAM CHAIN GUIDE". See parts manual Block Number E-11, Reference Number 5.
I mailed DDM for info about it, but I'm afraid my point got lost in translation.
These were the answers I got:
Q: Dear madam, sir
As a Montesa 4RT owner, I wondered what the "Carbon Fiber Engine Baffle for Montesa Cota 4RT" is.
A: Good Day
This product price is 40 Euro + Delivery cost approximately 15 Euro in Belgium.
Q:Hi
I'm sorry but I just wanted to know where this "baffle" can be used on my 4RT. What is the purpose of it?
A: The weight is 50% of original
-
In Belgium, and I guess in most countries, all 4RT's ( not sure about the 300RR) are delivered to the dealer with the Homologation kit installed.
It's quite a job in fact, removing all the restrictions in the engine and all the unnecessary electric equipment for road use.
-
It seems to be a collaboration with design company Trilix
I read about it a few days ago on another internet trial page but I can't find it anymore.
They already announced the new Derby trial bikes back in 2013, just Google "derbi trilix trial" and you should find the article from 2013.

The guys in the first three post seem to have problems in dry hot weather, so a bigger radiator would surely help.
And if you put a mudflap on your front fender (which is the first thing I do when I buy another bike), the radiator doesn't get clogged up so much.
About the bad running of the 4RT in hot conditions: This could be caused by the fuel "vapourising" in the fuel tank, which would effect the fuel flow.
Because the fuel tank is right above the cylinder head, it can get pretty hot there, especially when your radiator is clogged up and your doing high speed on the connecting road sections of the SSDT for instance.
I even read on this forum somewhere, that they saw their fuel "boil" when they did a refuel on the SSDT.
Although an oil radiator (like on some of the old honda twin shocks) would help, a larger radiator for bigger engines and or adverse conditions must be a good thing, every (semi) factory rider and other top riders has one. It helps to keep the overall engine temperature lower.
-
If I may butt in, Galfer and Jitsie racing pads are very good.
And if you can find them for your bike (haven't found matching pads for my 4RT yet), I can also recommend Lucas (TRW Automotive) pads.
I used them in my 315R and they performed even better than Galfer and almost never had to be cleaned to keep them performing well.
-
Don't you mean, just no atmosphere polution?
-
Derbi seems to think there's still room for another brand.
I think it's 10 years in the EU for cars.
