  1. Titanium front pipes look better and weigh less. If the diameter is larger than standard, the noise and power may increase or change a (tiny) bit.

    4Rt Quality ?

Shyted, I hope you base your conclusion about Montesa on more than just that one incident, or I will insult your intelligence Some people do neglect their bikes, sometimes out off laziness, sometimes they just don't know any better. Been there done that. Don't get me wrong, I love my Montesa but that doesn't mean we have to put up with poor workmanship, from no one. And the air of quality doesn't come from just better plastics and stickers, Honda has build this up over decades and I think you know that all to well.

    4Rt Quality ?

hannu, I think you're being "attacked" for posting things when you didn't know the full story and I really think they are a bit to harsh towards you. But regarding your latest post: If I leave the gearbox oil in to long in my 4RT, the bike gets harder to get in to neutral, so your bike creeping forward in gear might well have to do with lack of maintenance. Guys, we're all here to learn from each other and mistakes will be made, by ALL of us. And don't worry, Montesa/honda will survive this incident.
  4. Damn, that must have hurt. Something similar: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bjlt1T7QTwQ
  5. I think you mean Elf HTX The Elf oil Montesa recommends, is the HTX 740 for the gearbox/clutch. I don't think Elf makes a motorcycle HTX engine oil in the specified 10W30 viscosity. I use Castrol Power1 10W30 for the engine.
  6. Suddenly I remember why off road trikes were banned
  7. If you're looking for parts, maybe try Gilles Escuyer, he understand English. I've been at his and his dad's place and they've got quite a bit lying around. http://trial-classic-bultaco.fr/index.html

    Gas Gas Future?

Have you examined your first link thoroughly? Things just don't add up.
  9. Montesa/Honda claim 73 and 73,5 kg dry. So I guess they also count paint as a liquid Engine oil: 0,60 L, gear oil 0,57 L, fuel: 1,9 L Edit: Sorry, I forgot the coolant (about 1 L ?) and clutch and brake fluid so that could add up to about 4kg of fluids
  10. When the MX track was still in use, we used to have a couple of events a year there, but that was about ten years ago. The final destination for the terrain is still waiting on a (final?) court verdict

    Gas Gas Future?

I saw a test of a Chinese car once, and it wasn't perfect to say the least, but I'm sure they'll get the hang of it someday. By the way, the Spanish make damn good Hondas under licence so...
  12. Welcome, from a proud 159 owner.

    Gas Gas Future?

They can make good stuff in China, or Asia for that matter (see for instance mountain bikes), as long as they are under strict supervision.
  14. About the top speed, look at 3:20:
  15. The weatherman says it's gonna be 9°C and sunny next wednesday, so I'll be out practicing, but I hope I don't sweat too much
  16. Top speed of the EM is limited to 55km/h
  17. That's not a trials tyre, the thread pattern does not meet the regulations
  18. The guy who rides an EM in the national events here in Belgium, said it's only powerful enough to compete in the national level. For expert level it's lacks power for long climbs and instant full power like when dumping the clutch with full throttle on a gasoline bike.

    Gas Gas Future?

The majority of voters in Germany chose for Hitler. And it might take some time to get used to the power band of a 4RT, but that they don't provide grip is a load of cobblers.

    Gas Gas Future?

That's also the main reason I stayed with Montesa after owning a GaGas for a year.
  21. That depends, is 2stroke4stroke talking about the new or the old Dunlop?
