  1. yep, I rode a night-trial last year and the helmet light (from my mountain bike) makes it possible to see further ahead. http://www.jotagasbenelux.com/album_trialdenuit_2012/#
  2. Very nice, welcome and have fun on your Montesa.
  3. It's not only titanium pipes that go blue, the steel chromed pipes on my BMW Boxer motorcycle also turned blue because of the heat. Japanese (custom) bikes in the 80's had double wall pipes to hide this effect, and now it's in fashion, O well, sign-o-the-times I guess
  4. It's because titanium pipes have a very thin wall, Don't worry about it, enjoy the view

    The Magicals?

No, I didn't know he was there, don't even know how he looks like. I'm new to classic trials so I'm not so familiar with the scene yet. But don't worry, I'm a patient guy :-)

    The Magicals?

Thanks for the response Jon. I just might mail him.
  7. Open face helmet, no doubt about it. And 300cc can be a handfull in tricky situations...
  8. I use Aspen alkylate petrol but only because it's better for man, machine and environment...

    The Magicals?

I suppose he didn't come to your trial? I wonder how long it's going to last...
  10. They use something similar on boats too: But the one in my link is magnetic which is really handy.

    Fork Gaiters

I've got these one lying around because they are to long for my Bultaco: The top will fit 35mm forks and the bottom fits around 52 - 53mm (maybe 54mm if you strech them a bit)
  12. http://www.trialscentral.com/forums/garage/vehicle/792-montesa-cota-4rt/page__tab__images As you can see in the link above, I've got a Long-ride tank/seat for my 4RT. This is perfect for green laning and you don't have to take of the seat for trials riding. (Altough the quick release makes it possible) Only in very tricky tight corners it gets a little in the way.

  14. A very nice 2-day event on a beautifull location with friendly people. More than 120 contenders and a lot of British riders too. The Bultaco did great, She only needs new suspension, as soon as Magicals is back in business :-)
  15. Roll up, double blip, zap splat, jap splat, wheelie splat, ok, got it

    Filter Oil?

"Thoroughly wash the element in clean non-flammable cleaning solvent, then wash in a solution of hot water and dish-washing liquid soap. Apply engine oil to the element, and squeeze out excess oil. Clean the inside of the air cleaner housing." This is from the official Montesa manual.
  17. Are there any forum members who are going to this event next weekend? It will be the first serious test of my Bultaco after I bought and rebuild it...
  18. The original is about 5,4mm in diameter I think, but because mine was worn I put one in I had lying around which is 6mm. That's the largest one that will fit the hole.
  19. I'm sorry, you're correct : I have the clutch plate kit with modern friction material and if I did not leave the first (steel) plate out of it, the total amount of plates would be to thick: The pressure plate would not engage with the clutch hub cams.
  20. I think if you fit the plate that fits on the hub first, your aluminium clutch basket wont last very long as the steel plate wil damage it. This is the correct way i.m.o.: About the number of clutch plates: The pressure plate should always just fit over the clutch hub cams so it rotates as one unit.
