    Head Bearings

If you can get to it with an angle grinder, just cut in in two but be careful not to damage the shaft.

    Montesa Cota 2Rt

It would have to have fuel injection, of course

    Montesa Cota 2Rt

http://www.trialworld.es/reportajes/tecnica/185-adaptacion-de-motor-montesa-cota-315r-en-4rt.html Would anybody go back to a 2-stroke if Montesa made one? I think I would...fond memories of my 315R
  4. It's normal that you have to pay for these kind of pallets (known here as Euro-pallets). there is a deposit on them, so they get used more than once... Bad luck
  5. It's got nothing to do with to lean jetting, I just did a 4-day trial with lots of road between the sections and the titanium pipe on my 4rt, that was already a bit blue, got a lot more color to it. This was only because I rode longer and faster than normal, so the engine got a bit hotter. They use titanium because they can make the walls of the pipes thinner to save weight. Thinner pipes overheat easyer and as a result get blue when you ride your bike a bit hard, that's all. Or do you think the "jetting" on my fuel-injection suddenly got leaner!? I don't think so. I know you only try to be on the safe side, but when the only thing you have changed on your bike is the front exhaust pipe, there is no reason to panic. This is a brand new titanium pipe (the blue is from heating the pipe to bend it): Here's a other one:
  6. featuring Belgian talent Maxime WARENGHIEN, currently 7th in the FIM JUNIOR TRIAL WORLD CUP...Nice!
  7. yep, I rode a night-trial last year and the helmet light (from my mountain bike) makes it possible to see further ahead. http://www.jotagasbenelux.com/album_trialdenuit_2012/#
  8. Very nice, welcome and have fun on your Montesa.
  9. It's not only titanium pipes that go blue, the steel chromed pipes on my BMW Boxer motorcycle also turned blue because of the heat. Japanese (custom) bikes in the 80's had double wall pipes to hide this effect, and now it's in fashion, O well, sign-o-the-times I guess
  10. It's because titanium pipes have a very thin wall, Don't worry about it, enjoy the view

    The Magicals?

No, I didn't know he was there, don't even know how he looks like. I'm new to classic trials so I'm not so familiar with the scene yet. But don't worry, I'm a patient guy :-)

    The Magicals?

Thanks for the response Jon. I just might mail him.
  13. Open face helmet, no doubt about it. And 300cc can be a handfull in tricky situations...
  14. I use Aspen alkylate petrol but only because it's better for man, machine and environment...

    The Magicals?

I suppose he didn't come to your trial? I wonder how long it's going to last...
  16. They use something similar on boats too: But the one in my link is magnetic which is really handy.

    Fork Gaiters

I've got these one lying around because they are to long for my Bultaco: The top will fit 35mm forks and the bottom fits around 52 - 53mm (maybe 54mm if you strech them a bit)
  18. http://www.trialscentral.com/forums/garage/vehicle/792-montesa-cota-4rt/page__tab__images As you can see in the link above, I've got a Long-ride tank/seat for my 4RT. This is perfect for green laning and you don't have to take of the seat for trials riding. (Altough the quick release makes it possible) Only in very tricky tight corners it gets a little in the way.

  20. A very nice 2-day event on a beautifull location with friendly people. More than 120 contenders and a lot of British riders too. The Bultaco did great, She only needs new suspension, as soon as Magicals is back in business :-)
  21. Roll up, double blip, zap splat, jap splat, wheelie splat, ok, got it

    Filter Oil?

"Thoroughly wash the element in clean non-flammable cleaning solvent, then wash in a solution of hot water and dish-washing liquid soap. Apply engine oil to the element, and squeeze out excess oil. Clean the inside of the air cleaner housing." This is from the official Montesa manual.
  23. Are there any forum members who are going to this event next weekend? It will be the first serious test of my Bultaco after I bought and rebuild it...
