  1. Thankfuly being from a certain county beginning with 'Y' I'm good at this kind of money saving skill
  2. Completely agree This was the point I were trying to make in my first post (after that I sort of wandered off track ) If you want a cheaper trials bike, buy second hand, a modern 2nd hand bike would probably be more than up to do job rather than the far-eastern copies people have mentioned in this topic.
  3. If you want a bike for a third the price of a Gas Gas, buy second hand. There are plenty of tidy bikes in full working order for around
  4. As a subscriber to Trialsworld last year I got the letter when they packed up and it clearly stated that it wasn't viable to produce cos of the lack of sales. To restart they would need clear-cut proof that they could get X amount of copies sold. Somehow I doubt this'll happen I thought the magazine was brilliant value for money with 12 issues of Trialsworld costing
  5. My favourite classified advert was in an issue of autotrader, went something like, 'Citroen Saxo 1.6i VTR one lady owner' For sale in the salvage/breaking for spares section
  6. Nope, just shove part of the inner foam and outer pad through (under the fork brace) then pull through from t'other side.
  7. The standard kill switch/lightblock does make it hard to put the barpad on. My killswitch isn't too bad but the lights have completely stopped working now
  8. Thanks, has anyone got any info on how rare they are and how much money they sell for? might sell mine EDIT: Didn't see the second reply
  9. I've got a Yam TY125 that I bought when I first got into trials (December 2002) and I've not seen another one since. Has anyone got any information on how rare they are or owt else about them. cheers Rob
  10. Has anyone got any details about next weekends Hull 2 day trial? cheers Rob
  11. LARK ABOUT!! I'll be riding my a*** off!! But when I've finished last in A class at every club trial this year I don't think getting on the podium's a posibility
  12. Sorry to say it but what the 'fair-weather fans' put back into the sport is money. The FIM/Octagon wouldn't even consider holding a trial that would cost more to organise/set-up than would be earnt back. Maybee I didn't word the motorway bit right, a lot of the prima-dona top riders need there big fancy motorhomes and getting them to the venue on remote, narrow roads wouldn't work. Don't argue this point with me, it's just the way it is. I don't think the tyres want altering, rather it were the terrain
  13. Right here's my opinion for what it's worth (not that much)... I'd hate to see someone get seriously hurt or even killed as was mentioned earlier, but if the sport gets limited and restricted I think World Championship trials would become repetitive and the trials public will lose interest. I think impossibly slippy limestone kind of sections as mentioned earlier would be a good solution Impossible in everyway though it seems I would love to see a World Championship Trial set on the Yorkshire Moors (I know I'm biased ) or on SSDT terrain as opposed to the dry, dusty, man-made stuff we see at almost every round .A bit of bad weather wouldn't go a miss either (winter), see how the Spaniards cope with the cold, just as Lampkin and the other Brits have to put up with the extreme heat abroad. The list of problems facing this dream seems endless though Not very spectator friendly or accessable Parking problems Factory trucks Not near enough to any motorways (I'd hate trials to become more urbanised as mentioned earlier, part of my love of trials is spending time in the beautiful Yorkshire countryside) Bad weather would put off Fair-weather fans Bad weather might not be Telly friendly with cameras getting knackered Spaniards would probably complain about the conditions and get their own way General lack of money earnt by trial because of reasons mentioned above And the list goes on....... Because of all these reasons I can't see any organisers putting in the super-human effort needed to get an idea like this off the ground.
  14. I've just come back from a 2 week break to Kos, loads of potential rock sections Only problem is if you fell of they'd cut you to pieces
  15. Well you can either catch it or dive out the way
  16. When I sign on tomorrow can I get a line under my number 6 (like a bingo ball) to help the observers cos my bike'll probably be spending half of its time upside down
  17. I beleive this too be a common problem for the gassers but trialcast do a nice chain guard jobby too prevent the boot damage click HERE Seems odd as the Gas Gas chain runs on the left-hand side of the bike
  18. Afraid I have to disagree with you there. I had a pair of Wulfsport boots that I regularly oiled but they were still stiff as cardboard and had no flex in them at all. I haven't worn it myself but by the look other peoples' wulfsport clothing it seems durable and long-lasting. For boots though I would say it's worth paying
  19. I know this is going to sound daft but I'm wanting to keep my Beta running sweet so I need some advice. I've had my Beta 125 for 7months (from new) and I've regularly cleaned and oiled the air filter so it's still in more or less ok condition. Didn't know whether I should get a new one though, or which type to get (some claim to be 'high-performance') Also, now it's 7 months old what other checks/changes should I be doing? I'm going to change the gearbox oil for the 2nd time soon and change fork oil. Replies appreciated Rob
