  1. Go for it !! I could do the same thing with some Fordson Major paint I have in my shed.....all I need now's a 4RT
  2. Only problem with 200's is selling them when you've finished with them. Youths will all be on 125's next year so there'll be a limited amount of people to sell to, with most clubmen opting for 250's.
  3. I am one of those teenagers that's 11 and a half stone and ride a Beta 125. As long as the bike is set up well, you might find you ride better on a 125 than a 250 because of the smooth power delivery. It'll probably improve you as a rider as well, because you'll have to rely on technique rather than power

    Handlebars

Just wondering whether many Beta riders keep the stock (domino) handlebars or change to Renthals? I know the different dimensions of a handlebar can affect the way the bike feels to ride but is the choice of rise, sweep e.t.c just personnel taste or is there a paticular spec. that suits the Beta better? Cheers Rob
  5. My mud flap's never worn through but it has taken the paint off my rear shock. Does this mud flap go around the shock instead of rubbing against it?
  6. Speaking of set-up , I'd be interested to know whether people mess about setting up suspension . I was thinking of having a play with different suspension set-ups but I suppose no suspension setting will feel right if you're used to the way your bike is currently set (mine is set as standard from the box on my 2006 Beta 125). Rob
  7. Speaking of BVM has anyone tried the compressor type bleeder ?
  8. Birketts 4stroke set-up hope this helps
  9. Can anyone remember those anti-fungus boot linings featured in T+MX news/trialsworld not so long ago? ~(I don't mean the diadora stone 2 waterproof linings) They had crystals in or summat like that to stop the insides of the boots going fungusy Has anyone got a pair? Where do I get them? How much?(allus the painfull part ) Cheers for any replies Rob
  10. I've e-mailed JLI and they say they have a race kit for 100quid + vat which consists of a modified middle box with new jets to suit. Has anyone tried this? Cheers Rob
  11. This has probably been raised before but is there anything I can get to give my 2006 Beta 125cc more top-end power for hillclimbs e.t.c ? Any relplies appreciated (except any comments along the lines of 'get a Gas Gas' ) Rob
  12. Some good riding on that video BUT... 1) If the ramblers get hold of this they've got good ammunition to bugger up our sport 2)When they ride over that car and snap its' roof rack, they're no better than the litle t**ts who smash windows and set fire to things 3)That music is absolutely crap 4)When that bloke did that backflip he did that really annoying american thing of lets hug each other and shout a lot If anyone's offended by what I've put then just ignore it because everyone's entitled to their own stupid opinion Rob
  13. Look down the table for the trials fatbars Fatbars width table/ then compare with 7/8" bars 7/8" trials bars Hope this as helped
  14. I've had a 26" trials push bike for 2 years and I have a muck about on it about twice a week. It seemed to be more suitable to buy a 26" bike than a 20" 'cos I'm 6ft2 but I had a go on a 20" mission bike last weekend and it seemed easier to hop about than my bike. So... what I'm asking is which is better for me to practise on for motorcycle trials? Also ,it seems a daft question but.. are the 26" bikes more prone to pinch-flats (when the tube is pinched against the rim 'cos of low tyre pressure) than 20" bikes? Suppose it maybee depends on the make of the tyre and sidewall strength Cheers in advance for any replies Rob
  15. Has anyone got the Doug Lampkin one? Any good? Don't like to part with 4 quid for the sake of it
  16. Any chance of me getting a Tialsmonkey sponsership deal for the youth two-day in August and for the club championships
  17. Have you thought of getting some graphics made an doing a 'Trials monkey special' bike.
  18. I were just wondering if trialcast have changed the design of their footpegs. I bought mine from Steve off e-bay for a much cheaper price but it might be because they were the old design.
  19. get a normal airoh rock helmet and send it to D-Zign www.dzign-uk.com/
  20. 1)Rider/ spectater /observer 2) It's the British champs where they've changed their rules. The whole idea of it was for it to be the same as the world champ rules. 3) I think they have changed the rules so that the top Brit riders who do world rounds aren't having to switch between different sets of rules. 4)I think in the past they have continualy switched rules because when trials are run under the FIM rules, sections have to be made harder which can lower the number of riders wanting to ride. But then again they need to push the top lads who will be riding the world champs. 5) Yes. Whether it's in the best interest of the sport at clubmen level I don't know, but I have to admit to being from the hop, skip generation of younger riders. 6)Yes. It may be difficult as most centre and national trials are still run under no stop rules (I think) 7)Yes. I think whatever the rules are, we all need to be following the same ones. 8)Yes. As I said earlier, some riders may not contest the Brit champs under the stop rules because of the increased difficulty in the sections. 9)No. As I have said, I think we all need to be on the same rules. hope that helps Rob
  21. Kicker - a sloped rock which makes it easier to ride up a particularly high rock/log
  22. I think it's allright to clear a rut out with your boot but when you start kicking rocks out the way I don't think that's fair. Mind though, at a C/D national last year a log section had a much needed kicker that the lads wouldn't have got up the log without. One lad knocked it when he crashed on it moving it out of the way of the log. My Dad went to move it back and was given a stern few words by the observer (we had no rider interest). Thing is as the day goes on sections do get chewed up and lose there grip but if half the riders are riding the section with the kicker and the other half aren't they're at a great disadvantage.
  23. Lets just hope this topic doesn't become yet another 'bike x is better than bike y' carry on All of the bikes on the market are more than capable and its a case of having a ride on them all and see which takes your fancy. Each bike has its own characteristics which you eventually adapt to. Whichever you get, have fun
