Thought I would show you a piccie of the bike. I have since started to strip it down and it needs a rebore amongst other things.
Note the forks in the wrong way round, well there may be a reason someone did that, I found the brake arm mounting lug has been repaired (badly !!) at the bottom. By turning the forks round it would put pressure in a different area. Oh and the handling and brake would be hopeless!
Well here it is, what do you think?

Yes, that's the one. Any ideas about where to get an airbox from?
Sandifords can't help.
Also, can anyone give me a rough idea of what a fairly tidy runner would be worth?
-
I have just bought a Montesa Cota 330. I believe it is a 1985 model but that's just a guess at the moment.
The bike is a non runner at the moment but almost complete. The previous owner said it ran but not too well, they thought it was carb so fiddled with it and now can't start it at all!!
The first thing I noticed was the air box is missing and someone has fitted a aftermarket foam filter.
Does anyone know of an airbox for sale?
The second thing I noticed was the whole fork and wheel assy. has been fitted backwards!! Handling would be interesting and the brake next to useless as it's relying on the trailing edge. From this I have deducted the previous owners have little knowlage of bikes.
So I remain open minded as to what I may find on closer inspection.
One final observation, what a beast this thing is!! Physically it's very large, the ground clearance is massive. I can't wait to get her running to see what sort of power the 327cc engine gives.
If anyone can give me any more info on this model then I would be gratefull.

Hi,
If anyone knows anything aboout wheel building please take a look at my post in PRE 65.
I put it there as the wheel is on my Cub, but posted this as it doesn't appear many people use the pre 65 board!

Hi,
Are there any wheel builders out there who could help me put my mind at rest?
In the top photo is my newly spoked hub which I belived to be Tiger cub.
In the bottom photo is a spare wheel from another Tiger Cub
I have highlighted two spokes on each wheel, as you can see the spokes leave the hubs in a different pattern on my new hub. (the spokes are almost at 180 deg. to each other)
No matter how I try and respoke the wheel I can't match the pattern of my spare wheel.
First I spoke the Large (brake side) flange taking care to keep the spokes of equal length, which should align the rim and hub perfectly.
When I try to spoke the small flange the only way they will fit is by placing the spokes at 180 degrees. It's as if the top flage has been welded on in the wrong place!
Is it spoked correctly?
Is the hub from a different bike? perhaps Bantam? and is supposed to be like that.
Could anyone look at their wheels and see what pattern their spokes are laced in.
Help would be greatly appreciated, it's driving me nuts

People will have different opinions as depending where you ride some mud cleans off easier than other.
Where I live a pressure washer is a must. However when I used to ride a lot around Matlock area I never needed to use it.

To filter the vents on the seat is probably not going to do any harm, however I wouldn't advise sticking anything directly to the intake on the airbox unless you are increasing the size of the intake to compensate.
Are you finding any debris passing through your 'well oiled' foam filter?
Do you grease the lid of your airbox?
A certain world rider I worked for used to use tons of sticky red grease, not only under the lid of the airbox, but underneath the seat/mudguard aswell. The chief engineer at the factory used to tease him about all the 'strawberry jam' he used!!

Cheers Marky, was hoping you might jump in on this one.
What size nozzle do I need to run for 2k ? Until I get a nice little gravity fed gun I have a Devilbiss JGA but think the nozzle is too big at 2.0mm.

I understand 2 pack paint is very good but I was put off by the price. Maybe it's cheaper to the trade but at around

Just read your post about the Duke DVD. I got it from Santa aswell and was also very dissapointed. Not nearly enough action.

Hi,
I am slowly, actually very very slowly making progress with my Tiger cub rebuild and wondered what is the best paint to use for the frame, hubs etc....?
I have a spray gun but no fancy booth, just the garage.
The other consideration is cost, so any suggestions where to buy at the best price would be helpfull.
