Time for the gym then is it, Kinell??

Like the rest of you, i wouldn't mind paying the money if the gear was waterproof and breathable. Have none of the manufacturers heard of Gore-tex??? My Clice jacket, which i'm sure is similar to hebo etc gets soaked within minutes in the rain. Saying that, some of it's ok, i have an alpinestar pull-over jacket (
-
Maybe it would be telepathically operated???

I suspect that you're using too much filter oil, you dont have to drench it. Just spray a little on either side of the filter and work it in by squeezing the filter together. Grease the inside of the lid to catch the big bits of dirt and you shouldn't have problems. If you use too much filter oil, the bike will seem sluggish, cos ot isn't getting enough air

Almost forgot, don't do the inside of the frame because it WILL oxidise, and will be a nightmare to keep polished once the engine etc is all fitted, if you do it yourself, chances are ,the next time you will send it off to be done, as the dust get's everywhere, and for the cost of a pro job ( i guess about

Firstly , i must admit ignorance about the levy the English pay, but if ours is added to the licence price, then why does the club also have to pay a levy at the end of the year, for every rider??
Or do the English clubs pay this as well??
I'm not denying that trials is the cheapest form of motorsport ( a friend does race car sprinting and hillclimbs and pays
-
I could have done with some today, the hailstones were bouncing off the ground, and the fun trial was cancelled after 3 laps. Still good fun though!!
-
I'm just back, they called off the hare and hounds, just because of a little bit of snow, but they completed the trial and the winner is (drum roll please) BOOFONT!!!!, well done mate! Any potential sponsors will have to go through his new agent (me)
-
Is it just me or does no one else object to paying THREE TIMES as much as our English counterparts for a licence (

I've done a couple of road bike frames (GSXR's) and would recommend getting your hands on a proper polisher (hand held, obviously), and mops (you will need at least 3 or 4). I also blagged some abrasive foam pads for a grinder to initially take the anodising off the frame, but you can do it with wet and dry, going from 400 - 1200, (put some fairy liquid in the water), but it takes much longer. Once the anodising is completely removed, and the frame wet and dried (1200), get the mop out ,and the polishing soap. The soap is coloured, but as you will have made such a good job with the wet and dry (ahem), the white should be ok. Polish away, taking care not to press too hard and WATCH IT NEAR THE EDGES of the frame. If the mop catches an edge (or an exposed weld), it has a tendency to fly out of your hands. Also avoid polishing in lines as these will show up as well. When the frame is mirror like, it can be kept that way with wax based polish (i use furniture polish, it's cheap and good enough. Id also recommend wearing goggles (unless of course you would like people to think you are wearing masscara0. Good luck!!

Yeah, Merry Christmas everyone, i hope that you all have a good one!! :hat: :santawink: :beard:
-
they do fit, tried it yesterday, no problem!
-
Aye, i'll easy go, it will be good to put faces to names (oh, and drink vast quantities of booze as well)
-
This is just me being lazy, but has anyone fitted the rear spokes to a mont (99 on) without removing the sprocket, is it possible?? The old one came out but i had to bend it to get it out. Any ideas??
-
Boofont , having ridden your scorpa, i suspect that your sumping out cos the front end is too soft, maybe try adjusting that first . I thought the rear suspension was really good ( I'm 14 stone, so no lightweight either). A bit more compression on the front would work wonders. (or a diet ,arf, arf)
-
My, boofont, what loverly wallpaper. I hope you put the oven tray back when you had finished with it?? I'm surprised ,you havn't mentioned washing the air filter in the washing machine!!. Just remember it will all change in 2005. (he's getting married to the long suffering girlfriend).
-
Bigfoot, i've no brand loyalty but i counted at least 5 new betas at yesterday's trial, and everyone i spoke to only had good things to say about it . Apparently they are really grippy. but also really low geared in first (different sprocket??)I also spoke to a guy with a GG and he had already had trouble with the pipe, the replacement he was sent didn't fit either. Personally i would try them both cos everyone is different, it just depends what works for you!!
-
I had a shot of one the other week. Quite a good bike, But i've since seen this strange scorpa ritual of taking all the bodywork off and turning them upside down to pump water/ petrol out of them before they will run properly. I dont understand this, i've never had to do this to the montesa!!
Wooooo Hoooooo.
-
Well boy wonder, saw you at cannich today, Myself and boofont were expecting a riding lesson from you, But it seems that you're not dougie lampkin after all
-
I thought it would be pretty obvious why you need the guard, to stop yer water pump getting twatted by a large rock = huge repair bill ,no?
-
.....duh!, promising a Scotsman a beer!......NEVER EVER do that.....he'll always hold you to it..........til yer old and grey!
Especially an Aberdonian, eh Ian. If your doing any bon accord trials next year i may see you. I only plan on doing one or two .(Lumsden definitely), I will do the mod next week, but i'm wondering whether to go for 2 or 3mm, or does it not matter too much?? I'll let you know how i get on. Cheers :hat:
-
Hi ian it was me who was looking for yer diagram on the other site, i tried your own site too, to no avail But now you've come up trumps, Cheers mate ,i owe you a beer (should i ever meet you!!)
-
It's mostly rocky streams, usually a hill climb, a couple on dry rocks and is a good trial. You'll easily spot me , i'll be the one upside down in a stream with a bike on top of me, cursing loudly!!! Nah, only kidding, it's worth going to though
-
Welcome to Scotland, Oceanvibe. You may have noticed the slight climatic change, but the trials country more than makes up for it, as you'll no doubt find out at Cannich (it's excellent!!) See you there! I still can't understand why anyone would want to move from sunny Spain to cold and wet Inverness though??
-
If they are developing a new model anyway,(four stroke) i cant see it being that difficult to have different sized motors, using the same frame and running gear, and possibly even the same bottom end of the engine. It would give them a wider appeal to different riders and with the new schoolboy rules (125) coming out , well ,you know it makes sense!!
