You should be ok, if the lawn mower ever packs up!!
I'm jealous really....NOT!!
Only kidding...It's really cool, in a "Nuns on the run" kind of way!!
-
i see what you mean r2w.
I thought that i saw a picture of honda rs' 240 with an alloy bashplate.I just wondered what it was off, as the original has pretty much had it!
BTW, i will be picking up the 200 this weekend, and will be in touch when i've had a look at it.
-
New year resolution perhaps?
-
Hi , does anyone know if the fantic 240 and 300 have the same frame cradle. I am particularly interested to know if the alloy bash plate from a 300 will fit a 240?
Cheers

In the olden days he had a green cbr 600, minus the fairing of course,It was painted up a bit like the Brazillian flag, with bits of yellow, and at the first European stunt champs in britain circa 1998(ish), at Edinburgh Motorcycle show, he was ski-ing off the back of it, not with steel soles, a la Rothwell etc, but with a cheap pair of trainers.
He then moved onto the cbr900 a couple of years later.
All this stunting talk and no mention of the greatest Scottish loony, and also ex world champ Kevin Carmichael, who pioneered tricks on a gsxr such as cross handed stoppies, and wheelies with no front wheel or forks on his bike. He's the man! All o0f his stunts were done at high speed, and looked a little out of control, adding to the "wow" factor!
Here he is on a cbr 6

Yeah, but the jitsie ones are thicker than the delay ones, if you can get them. Try BVM also, they do really quick mail order. I've had both, and reckon the jitsies will last longer, going by the amount of rockery i've re-arranged!!

Hi all
Does anyone know where i would get a spacer to replace the speedo drive, prefferably one which covers the wheel bearing face.

By all means go for the sureflex plates, if your current clutch is goosed, but i found the difference in using the right oil was dramatic. My old 315 (03) and (99) both had stock plates. I tried a cr250 ,motocrosser plates, but found it worse than the stockers to be honest. The sureflex plates get good reviews, and may solve your problems.I suspect that they are probably the way to go, with good oil.
All the best!

Quote:2003 according to his web site bio.
It's high time he updated his web site then.!!
I know my memory is bad, but i'm sure he won it in 2004 and possibly 2005 as well.
He's still better than you at wheelies

FIRSTLY, CHECK THAT THE PLATES ARE NOT WARPED OR SHOWING SIGNS OF BLUEING. tHEN TRY EITHER SIILKOLENE PRO SRG7 CLUTCH OIL, OR ELF HTX740. TORQUE THE SPRINGS TO THE RECOMMENDED PRESSURE, AND YOU SHOULD BE SORTED! YOU MIGHT HAVE TO ORDER THE OIL AS IT IS NOT TO READILY AVAILABLE. iT DOES WORK BETTER THAN THE OFF THE SHELF ITEMS THOUGH AND SHOULD ALSO PREVENT THE DREADED LURCH WHEN YOU INITIALLY LET THE CLUTCH OUT. Please excuse the Caps lock, just realised that it was on.
good luck

Or a honda c90 with nitrous!
-
Have had excellent results with PJ1 high temp engine paint (gloss black). Just make sure the cases are well prepared.
-
Just had a look at the one on evilbay... It looks like its been hammered, going by the engine cases, for an extra 3-400 squid, you could have a lightly used minter.
You know it makes sense
-
And less jerky?. Yeahh, Thats what i noticed.
-
This guy was the 2004 world stunt champeeeeen. on a road bike. His circle wheelies are awesome!
How do they do that!!
-
An old zed 9 with a sheepskin seat! For nostalgia
-
Or you could try some of the specialist off road breakers. May not be priistine, but could be better than the one you have! It may be an easier bet to start repairing one which isn't so badly dinged, and will be less than 350 squids.

Many thanks barcota, will get one orderd up tomorrow!
Cheers

You think there worth that much secondhand?
It depends what you are comparing it with (2 strokes), your own budget, and how much you want one.
It is 950 pounds less than list price for a new one, and if you look in t&mx news, that seems to be what dealers and private sales are asking for them.
As to the condition of them, well not having seen them, i've no idea.
As with any secondhand bike, Shop around and get the best one you see. Beware new plastics etc. (May be trying to cover up a hard previous life). Generally, engine cases, fork legs , and bash plates will show signs of wear and tear, as will frame/ engine pant markings from the SSDT.
Try one before you buy one!. And good luck
