  1. The shock has been rebuilt , either to modify the valving, or because a seal had blown. This valve is installed to re-gas the unit on assembly. DO NOT touch it.
  2. Joe If you are going to get the bore relined then get them to match it to your piston size. If you are going to buy a new piston, or reuse the old one, send that piston with the barrel and they will match both. No need to buy an oversized pot. Just make sure you give the reliners the clearances you want for piston/bore tolerance. These can be found in the Yamaha engine manual (download at www.thehellteam.com)
  3. Mr Beta Ranter Geez....... I'll give you the skinny. Gas Gas UK are not taking the P***, prices have gone up from GG Spain. It is more expensive for 2011's than 2010's. Scorpa's are also more expensive than the last models available from the "previous Scorpa" factory. Freight prices have gone up, especially all the so called fuel surcharges etc, and insurance prices have gone through the roof. Bank charges on LOC's and loans are a killer, and wages and rents have not reduced. I am an importer in Australia and that's the case down here. I can't imagine it would be any different in the UK, they are global not local forces. The Euro has indeed devalued, but everything else to do with bike importation has increased. The price of the bikes from the manufacturer, and everything else down the line is more expensive. I think you will find there is solid economics behind any pricing structure, rather than "taking the p#@@" as you say!
  4. yeah check www.trials.com.au the translated version is on the front page.

    Whats New With Gg?

Hi Neo Just off the top of my head there has been a raft of small but innovative changes. I'm sure Jon and other will add to the list. Saw tooth bash plate - stop slipping backwards off obstacle and receiving a fail. Simple but extremely effective. Michelin X-Lite tyres Cylinder head with interchangeable head inserts * low compression for soft power delivery * standard * high compression for aggressive power, and tuneability at altitude Titanium header pipe standard New frame for 2011 New micro fusion welding technique on all frame welds. New AJP Integral rear brake mastercylinder/reservoir especially designed for Gas Gas New airbox Constant small improvements to Pro motor - seals, bearings, treatment of pinions, gears, shafts etc.
  6. Good improvement. Came standard fitment on later model SY's.
  7. If you do have Photoshop already then follow these steps: This is how it works in the CS4 version of Photoshop, and from memory the CS3 and previous versions. I am not sure about Photooshop Elements or some of the more parred down versions. Put all the photos you want to convert into one folder and name it. Open Photoshop Go to the "file" pull down menu at the top Scroll down and open "scripts" Then open "image pprocessor" This will open a dialogue window choose the folder you put all your photos in and choose the setting you want as far as quality (dpi) and size etc. Press the "RUN" button and presto ....done. There is other ways to do it in Photoshop with the batch processor but this one is pretty simple and straight forward. should be able to do it in under a minute. cheers, here Bach at ya!
  8. Blocked or incorrect pilot jet.
  9. Too right Volcano Man Standard the bikes have a deep cherry coloured fibre washer on both sides of the bracket. These often get lost early on in the piece and never replaced. Hence no vibration isolation, and eventually fatigue cracks. Also caused by big fat arses sitting down too much on the guard, hey but that's another story. After you have repaired your original box put it back as the factory intended with a fat fibre, or rubber, washer each side of the frame tab clamped between the clip nut and bolt head. Small part but it's there for a reason. good luck. arnoux
  10. Also a photo essay available on: WWW.THEHELLTEAM.COM Rim Band replacement LINK
  11. I would say you actually have the "standard" flywheel. The UK was the only market with the heavy flywheel in 2006. no need to weld - we sell rings to fit Racing spec (light weight flywheels) they press on and also have a number of grub screws to lock the weight in place. two different weight options. Or machine your own, but don't weld it. Paul www.thehellteam.com
  12. remove the two wires from the thermostat (brass thing on the bottom left of radiator). loop out the two wires with a small piece of wire with a male spade connector on each end, thereby bypassing the thermostat. Kick the bike over, the fan should come on straight away. If the fan comes on then the thermo was shagged. if the fan does not come on your problem is somewhere else in this circuit.

    Scorpa?

Well Dabster WE all actually know it was first used in 1993, so that means you are living in 2018... what's it like?

  15. I have a reg in stock, but I'm in Australia. Happy to send if you get stuck. www.thehellteam.com But I would suggest locally: Peter Knight PowerSport K-Toys House, Second Avenue, Westfield Trading Estate, Midsomer Norton, RADSTOCK, BATH & North East Somerset, BA3 4BH United Kingdom ROTAX 'HOTLINE' - 07000-4-ROTAX Tel. 0176 141 4106 Fax 0176 141 4107 e-mail rotax257@aol.com The fan can be found in lots of bikes including Honda CBR250, go to the local bike wreckers and get one cheap.
  16. Full engine manual is available here The Hell Team Technical Downloads page
  17. I do not know of a Boysen that will fit (doesn't mean there isn't one, but I cannot find one!). Pogipollini do have a carbon one that fits. The Yamaha reed stoppers from late model TYZ work well in conjunction with the standard reeds. They stop the reeds from "fluttering" at high revs.
  18. If it is an 06 or 07 model try this: The Hell Team - SY250F carb Mods 06/07
  19. Do you have a problem with the standard reeds? What year SY? Have you fitted the Yammy stoppers as per the 09 mods? What are you trying to fix/modify etc?
  20. S3 do not have aheader for it yet as far as i know. The idle screw can be changed on the carb, BUT.... it does not fit on the SY250F, not enough clearance between the carb and chassis rail. The 290cc big bore kit does not increase the engine braking. S3 now make a nice big bore kit for the Yamaha 4 banger. Also Vertex do a 300cc.
  21. We have used an Athena 290 big bore kit. Very good. Big increase in bottom end No minuses, unless you count trying to hang onto the bloody thing when it hooks up. Some rejetting required. No change to Airbox. need to run a couple of head gaskets to keep compression the same.

    Tys 175

3 turns out on the fuel screw is a good setting if you have a 17.5 pilot fitted. If you have the standard 15 pilot fitted this could be the issue.
  23. Actually it has gained weight. the Racing spec (not UK spec) flywheels used to be machined a lot more than they are now. When Marc Colomer came on board as Tech consultant the wheels were changed for a heavier spec. (07 from memory). Only about half the weight is now machined off from the standard Yamaha (UK spec) flywheel. Here's an early racing flywheel, notice the large part machined from the outer edge. Current ones have about half this amount removed.
