  1. "The S3 flywheel is good (and for some of us, essential to tame the abrupt power delivery of the Raga. But you do need to drill some holes in the original flywheel to get the S3 to fit." by TooFastTim As a long time S3 importer and dealer I can assure you that you do NOT have to drill any holes to fit the S3 Flywheel weight kit. I think TooFastTim is confusing it with the HEBO weight. The S3 kit is literally a 5 minute job to fit to the Gas Gas Pro flywheel . The flywheel must be removed the first time the S3 kit is fitted, This is so the supplied two threaded inserts can be fitted into two existing holes in the flywheel from the back/stator side. A round or "rat tail" file is needed to file a small portion of thin sheet steel that partially blocks these two holes. Then the flywheel weight can be bolted on from the outside. If you need to remove the weight in future the flywheel can stay on the bike. It is the HEBO kit that needs the flywheel to be drilled (but it is also a good kit - just different initial fitment). A spacer and gaskets are supplied to space out the side cover, allowing for the extra room the weight takes up, but the standard gear lever can still be used. Head insert on RAGA is standard comp S3. You can fit a Low-Comp insert to"soften" the bike. Or change the standard 0.5mm base gasket for a 0.8 or 1mm base gasket. regards
  2. The Master cylinder kits are available again. We are in Australia and we have got bags and bags of the things, so I'm sure you will be able to find them locally.
  3. no comes as a complete unit.
  4. I think he means TECH forks!
  5. Hey KeyChange "As for your point Arnoux - it is unrealistic to add 40% for airfreight - if you are using airfreight your ordering systems and/or demand management is failing." If we order everything by sea-freight then we have a minimum 8 week lead time, and as you could imagine stock levels would have to much higher to allow for holes in inventory. Also when a product is released we want to have it available for our customers now, not in 3 months time. A combination of Sea-freight and Air-freight has to be a part of modern business logistics. We are constantly searching for cheaper and more efficient shipping options, but we are on the other side of the world from all our suppliers. As we all know people want their item within a few days max of ordering and that is more than fair. Air-freight is, and has to be, a part of business stock logistics these days. It's a balancing act on stock management, and stock amounts versus freight costs to control stock levels. If you did everything by sea-freight you can end up with a lot of sullage, or holes in inventory. And hence unhappy customers, or your clearance shop scenario. Having our government hit us with duties and GST that Joe Public doesn't have to pay is just another slap in the face. I will continue to blame our governments completely biased import rules. I truely standby our position that Australian retail businesses could compete internationally price and service wise, if the playing field was an even one. And if you are true to your word and we should all just have websites for run out and clearance items i personally would be bitterly disappointed. I personally love checking out the newest and greatest, just released goodies from my favourite suppliers. That is what the internet is all about, not it being an online $2 shop, but a vehicle to access everything and anything, and get the information and service about those products 24/7. I also think it is a great way to compare prices and get the best deal, but Australian retailers just cant compete internationally when we are being unfairly and unjustly taxed. We are in this because we love the sport, we love the business, and we want to supply the best, good and services we can - just give us the same penalties, taxes, conditions as everyone else gets. Seems reasonable.
  6. What you fail to understand Keychange is it's not the Australian dealer and importers ripping you off, but our government draconian tariff and GST system! Your "loyalty" is needed badly. You bought those pants into the country GST and Duty free. You also only paid Royal Mail post charges which are quite cheap. (try sending something in the reverse direction, or importing on a large scale and paying DHL or UPS rates). Yet we importers pay exorbitant freight charges, then we pay import duty and then GST on top of those charges, before we even think about any mark up. If an item costs me $100: Then it could have on clothing 12% duty, that's $112.00 (some things have an even higher dutiable rate). it can be 40% on top for airfreight (because no one is willing to wait these days - they want it tomorrow - and that's fair enough), so say that's $152.00 Then add 10% GST, that's $167.20 cost price for that $100 item to us. I have to add something on top of that to pay rent, wages, etc etc and try and be there at trials events supporting riders that are increasingly not supporting us by shopping locally. How is that fair and equitable when Joe Bloggs just pays for the padded bag, and a few pound postage fee. If we could make our prices match what the UK dealer is charging we would. We dont want to go out of business either. But our Australian laws are putting us out of business, please dont blame us but have a look at the big picture. Either we all should pay import duties and GST, or none of us should. But at the moment you dont, and we do. Many retail goods importers in Australia are going out the door backwards, - David Jones, Harvey Norman, all our biggest retailers are screaming about it. I totally understand everyone trying to get the best deal, but our import system is completely unfair and putting Australian retail on a very slippery slope to disaster. Soon you will not have a choice but to buy from OS, no matter what the postage charges. Stepping off my soap box right now..... Whewww!
  7. What model bike, and were are you located?
  8. Adam Raga uses a Reiger shock. Slightly up-speced from the standard Reiger shock, but not that much different. It has adjustble spring perch-preload (same as standard). It has high and low speed compression adjuster, high and low speed rebound adjuster, and two adjusters not found on most trial bike shocks. It has an adjustable hydraulic bump stop, and a "rebound delay" adjuster. This holds the shock compressed for a defined moment. So on say a big splat the bike can run a quick rebound that would usually bounce the rear off the obstacle after a big shock compression. But the shock "holds" for that defined moment on full compression to better hold traction before it rebounds. These shocks can be purchased from Reiger through your Gas Gas importer and are personally set up by the Reiger factory for the rider. A questionarre about rider weight, ability, type of riding terrain, etc etc have to be filed in on ordering. They also have a large selection of springs of different rates available. They are super trick, but do take a clear head and an analytical brain to get the most out of. And i can back up Jon, at least as far as Gas Gas are concerned the Pro's bikes are very, very close to standard, (maybe the aformentioned Reiger shock), or bog standard in many cases (rider dependant).

    wheel stickers

After putting about a dozen sets on now in the shop we have gone to putting the outside on first,(flat outside face of the rim), and then working back towards the centre of the rim and the spoke holes. Use a Hair dryer to warm the sticker it makes it much easier and you do need to "stretch" the sticker oh so slightly as you apply it. Clean the rim thoroughly with prep-sol (wax and grease remover) before you start. Have super clean hands. Do it somewhere clean and away from flying dirt, dust and grime and you will get a proper job. They are a fantastic material, and easy to put on if you are careful.
  10. Put a lump of grease on the bolt head before drilling. This will lubricate the drill bit, but more importantly catch the swarf from drilling. As stated by others the bolt has a hole down the centre, and you don't want metal filings getting into the transmission on the other side. Drill bolt remove clutch basket remove remainder of bolt shaft replace clutch and replace bolt - part number Mt280232081 (always use the genuine bolt).

    Gas gas 2012

Bikes have to be produced after 1st July 2011 (in Spain) to qualify as 2012 models. Raga's are produced in May hence their 2011 nomenclature. GG Spain and all GG importers would prefer to call them 2012's but are bound by production date.
  12. Scorpa's badged as YAMAHA for the Japanese market. Kenichi rides a pretty tricked up 300cc SYF, lots of mods, sounds like a top fuel dragster........Sweet.
  13. This motor can be "tuned". TTR Big bore parts from BJ Racing and Powerall in the USA, and RAYER in france do fit. We have done it many times on the little Scorpa engine which is basically the same except for the electric leg.

    Sy radiator

It's a genuine Scorpa part, not a Yamaha part. The Part # is 4142.
  15. We have fitted 2 kits to customers new(ish) 125 GG's recently, and i can highly recommend it. Makes a huge difference in power delivery. Still wicks up super fast, but way more power. Michel from S3 makes a great product. ** please note I am a Gas Gas importer!
  16. We have Michelin X-Lite and X11, and tubed type, Dunlop 803, IRC and Vee Rubber trials tyres, and have next day delivery if you need it. And we only sell Trials stuff! Www.thehellteam.com
  17. I agree Laser,I did not say you determine how it bottoms out with pre-load, but I am stating bikes delivered new from the Gas Gas Factory in Spain come with virtually no Pre-load on the spring at all. They also have the dampening adjustment screw all the way out. So the fastest setting. Not any more or any less. Take your time and set up your suspension properly. You may need a stiffer spring, you may need more pre-load, you may need to adjust the dampening screw to suit your preferences. Do not assume it is "right for you" straight out of the box. It's probably not.
  18. The rear Sach shocks come with the dampener adjuster wound right off, and virtually no pre-load at all on the spring perch. This is to keep the components with no load on them in transit and storage. (same with the front forks). The bikes must have the pre-load adjuster set to suit the rider weight when setting up the new bike. If not then the bump rubber will get "flogged out" in no time if the rider weighs a bit more, or has more advanced skills (eg hits harder)! . Descriptions are found in the owners manual. New bikes are NOT delivered from Gas Gas Spain with pre-determined settings for a specific weight of rider. This must be done by the owner, or by the dealer in conjunction with the owners supplied rider weight, rider preferences and specifications.
  19. keep a very close eye on your transmission oil levels, as I still feel you could have a crank oil seal that is faulty.
  20. Big chance you have blown a crank seal and you have transmission oil leaking into the crankcase, hence the very oily conditions and the big temps created in the exhaust system.
  21. Shane I'm not sure who gave you the information but the RAGA is Not $2000 more expensive, not even $1000 more! (in Australia - not sure about other markets). Amongst the changes you noted, and the huge list of changes from the 2010 model (new frame, new airbox, new rear guard and other plastics, new front and rear wheels, new rear master cylinder, new Michelin X-Lite tyres etc etc.) The Raga has magnesium crankcases (TXT is Alloy) Keihin flat slide carby (TXT is Dellorto PHBL) Raga reeds and reed block (quite different to standard setup) Different bars, grips and smaller "bling" items (M/cylinder caps etc) Raga alloy footpegs (TXT Hebo style steel pegs) The Raga was a little late into OZ this year (Aug) due to production delays in Spain, but it will available in the middle of 2011. Faster clutch...

Standard AJP clutch Master cylinder bore size is 9.5mm the AJP clutch Master cylinder as found on the GG BOY 50 is a 12mm bore.
  23. Claudio the difference is in the side holes, the S jets have the small side holes the U's are substantially larger. On the Scorpa four bangers running that carby it made a substantial difference to the slow running just changing between U and S for the same pilot jet size.

    Wet/Dry switch

Australian freestyle Trials rider jack Field, who is currently touring with the Crusty Demons Show will tell you differently. He can land 75 foot back flips on his 300 GG - but only with the switch one way. But he does approach the kicker pinned in fifth! Pulls up short if the switch is in the "soft" position. It does work at the top end!
  25. The large black connector plug that connects the CDI to the rest of the wiring harness can also be a place to check. They use the same plug on KTM's and they are always causing issues on those bikes under harsh conditions. Have you had that apart recently? We have only had it happen once on a GG, but it did take us a while to source the problem.
