    Seized !

I've seen our ty do that.. We did nt have a kill switch on it then but soon fitted one...
  2. The novel "Fifty Shades Of Grey" has seduced women - and baffled blokes. The book has author Colin Grey recounting his love encounters at the bottom of the garden. Here are some extracts... Fifty Sheds Of Grey We tried various positions - round the back, on the side, up against a wall... but in the end we came to the conclusion the bottom of the garden was the only place for a good shed. She stood before me, trembling in my shed. "I'm yours for the night," she gasped, "You can do whatever you want with me." So I took her to McDonalds. She knelt before me on the shed floor and tugged gently at first, then harder until finally it came. I moaned with pleasure. Now for the other boot. Ever since she read THAT book, I've had to buy all kinds of ropes, chains and shackles. She still manages to get into the shed, though. "Put on this rubber suit and mask," I instructed, calmly. "Mmmm, kinky!" she purred. "Yes," I said, "You can't be too careful with all that asbestos in the shed roof." "I'm a very naughty girl," she said, biting her lip. "I need to be punished." So I invited my mum to stay for the weekend. "Harder!" she cried, gripping the workbench tightly. "Harder!" "Okay," I said. "What's the gross national product of Nicaragua?" I lay back exhausted, gazing happily out of the shed window. Despite my concerns about my inexperience, my rhubarb had come up a treat. "Are you sure you can take the pain?" she demanded, brandishing stilettos. "I think so," I gulped. "Here we go, then," she said, and showed me the receipt. "Hurt me!" she begged, raising her skirt as she bent over my workbench. "Very well," I replied. "You've got fat ankles and no dress sense." "Are you sure you want this?" I asked. "When I'm done, you won't be able to sit down for weeks." She nodded. "Okay," I said, putting the three-piece suite on eBay. "Punish me!" she cried. "Make me suffer like only a real man can!" "Very well," I replied, leaving the toilet seat up. "Pleasure and pain can be experienced simultaneously," she said, gently massaging my back as we listened to her Coldplay CD
  3. Alpine stars defenders. I wear them outside my jeans but inside MX trous when I race enduro. They save my knees about twice a day and the only problem is that they can get quite hot
  4. Let me know how you get on.... I have just had to replace the seat and rear mudguard after an endo. No stickers yet.....
  5. Sunlingkau, a member of this forum, based in HK and rides an ossa....
  6. I had 4 dogturds together in a big split (too big a needle for the original dogturds). A gentle ride and they blew out followed by all the slime. Do you think I can get a big patch welded to the inside or is it time for a new tyre?

    Tr 280 Fan Problem

The temperature sensor in the head may have blown or burnt the wires... Mine did that and then the dealer wired a switch from the main wires (I'm not electrical either) to the fan direct ie didn't touch the temp sensor connector... Ran it for about 3 weeks and then got a new sensor which fitted straight in and then cut the switch out and it runs as normal.
  13. My 280i SSDT model has a problem with the electrical system somewhere. It cuts out in stages when it is hot.... First the top and mid end goes and then after limping around on low revs for about 2 minutes the engine cuts completely. It is impossible to start until it has cooled for maybe 5 minutes and then it starts as normal on the first or second kick. Subsequent to that it runs normally on either map until it has heated up.....the same sequence after a shorter time. I feel it is in the left hand engine case as it started after a shorter interval after I poured half a bottle of water over it. The problem happens after exactly the same interval after starting riding and I have tried a new plug to no avail (even though the old plug was a perfect milk chocolate colour). Please offer any suggestions as the opinions I have canvassed so far all suggest a coil or stator about to fail.....

    Fuel Injection

I had the temp sensor for the fan fail and then it boiled dry, needed to replace the o rings and the fuel injector head that was made of plastic.... It didn't cut out until I lost compression thru the o rings.....
  15. I'm 6'6" and 95kg..... I put in 2" bar spacers and new bars with a 4" rise rather than the standard 2 and a half ( I think) which ossa comes with. Instant cure to sore neck, looking at the front wheel too much and now much better centred on the bike. Tipping the bars forward can give you a bit of wrist strain and unless you are an excellent rider it seems to put you too far forward and your front wheel tucks in and pushes on some tighter turns. Wide stance and slightly bent knees really helps as does slightly arching your back.... think of the cobra position in yoga! I find that I can now really use the bike and the suspension standard set up really works for me. I wouldn't drop the pegs as in some of the terrain I ride lower pegs would completely trap the bike between rocks rather than just scraping below the pivots. Ie across the bottom of the bike the lowest thing is the skid plate not anything else sticking down...
  16. Very nice! We are going up Orok, a big hill just north of the Tz. border, on Saturday and I have 2 Trangia 1 litre fuel bottles in my backpack. Otherwise allowing for 1 litre per hour so assume that we will be completely knackered after 4 hours trying to summit an as yet unclimbed mountain (as on proper enduro bikes one can only get 3/4 of the way up)..
  17. The thing that worked for me was to learn to open the throttle a lot more in the middle of a good kick and then it catches very easily. Not easy to train yourself to do after starting four strokes for ten years. It then revs and gurgles but soon settles down to a normal tick over...
  18. How please? I had to take the throttle body off, one of the side shrouds and the computer and the sensor before pushing it out the top. The air box opening is very hard to get the filter back down into.
  19. Apparently (my wise dealer told me) jitsie took several attempts to get the air filter right so that it wasn't restrictive and didn't mess up the starting and mixture. Meanwhile my bike is still starting first kick hot or cold. I'm sorry that I haven't gone through lots of angst and tuning it to feel solidarity with the group but mine runs well from 4-8000 ft asl.
  20. I just did the air filter yesterday and it is a horrible job. Tight space, lots of nut and bolts to undo etc etc. On my KTM it is 2 dzus fasteners and so it is not like trying to do a pregnancy test up a sea urchins backside. (scraped knuckles and lots of rude words later) If the jitsie lid works then I am all for it or perhaps make an adapter for the plastic bit of the existing filter and put in a cartridge filter...
  21. I didn't get onto the SSDT this year so I found a place that might look a bit like it though it is on the equator.... Lake Bogoria, Kenya

    Fuel Range?

I'm told to budget for about 1 litre an hour for messing about, a bit higher consumption if on trails etc
  24. Still map 12 but I think I have got the trick... Crank the throttle about 3/4 and give it a mighty kick... A bit of a puff of smoke and it generally fires up, hot or cold... When it runs cleanly release the throttle to idle as normal. Apart from that it runs hot and needs the fan wired on to keep it reasonably cool if it is not to boil all the coolant away in 5 mins. Always shut off at a standstill as it boils even with the fan on. Otherwise just amazing and today I take it up a hill nobody has tried before on a motorbike. I may post some pix if I succeed...
