has anyone out there installed a 290 kit in their 4rt ??
if so, what is your impression?..whats it like???................masso
-
That was the 290cc kit we where talking about...+40cc
The HRC kit is only 260cc but has a cam and the two stage mappable EFI, why only 10cc I don't know, maybe that is what works the best for there cam.
apparently the cam alone is what we want!!!....its very torquey
-
now, what I don't understand, is why create a new barrel and piston for just 10cc increase???
does it make much difference ....anyone know ????.........................................................masso
-
best thing I've found, is go to local hardware store, go to lawnmower section, pick up a $7 lawn mower muffler..fits right in!!!!.................not so easy to rev-out ...ok at bottom revs, if you don't like it, throw in garbage, its that cheap!!!..................................masso
-
I've been contemplating installing a heavier flywheel!
has anyone heard of a manufacturer that has made one yet ????..............................masso
-
I tell ya, this 4rt set-up with seat is the best I've seen ............good when you need to take a rest ................................do these people sell this seat combo???
-
ahhhh.....................well, this looks like the closest answer to my question......the rear wheel turn!!!
not just hopping around....somehow I get the feeling there was some europeans doing it first...............................................masso
-
me and a few of the lads have been having a discussion/argument regarding when the first rear wheel hop-turn happened?...who started it ??......any of you old timeres remember ????........................................masso
-
isn't the thing to do, is to remove spark plug...kick it over to get water out ???.........................masso
-
yes, I have the mitani clutch...it works miricles !!
bike goes into neutral very easy[when engine running]...when not running, its impossible!!
be sure to use the recommended tranny oil...................................I feel your pain!
-
cheers frantic.........I prefer the 315 because it breaths better, can therefore rev out better, stocker seems chocked to me , don't see how any air can get through stocker....try one, see if you like it
I also have put larger rear sprocket ...can loft front wheel easier...not as sluggish ..........as you can see, I've not gotten over 2-stroke type reving and snap!!!
the racing gas, you have to find speciallized shop that deals only with racing cars.........you'll notice difference
-
well, if you go through the forums, you'll find much talk on this subject.
the bike will go into nootral quite easily when engine's running, but when its dead, forget about it!!!
mitani clutch plates make a world of difference.
automatic transmission fluid works well, but by far the best is the recommmended[very expensive]..fancy-dancy oil the manufacturer recommends....it works the best
if your still having problems after that...do the 315 lever and resevoiur mod.......for such an expensive machine, you'd think they woooa got the clutch right!!!!!!................................................................masso
-
................07 PICTURES????.............what 07 pictures?.........................................masso
-
.............I've learned alot about clutches just reading 4rt replies
automatic transmissin oil works or, the very expensive recommended in the manual oil .......everything else I've tried dragged!
mitanio clutch plates or install 06 clutch plates ...this will cure problem .........................masso
-
I have one of the first 05's.........................took me a year to dial it in to my liking.
then I rode my buddies new o6...........its great, no need to touch anything!
just put in the recommended cluttch oil
install a 315 air filter and run race gas........................you should be happy!...................masso
-
dude...what the hell is a PTB????
PRETTY TRICK BIKE ????
-
well, I'm surprized you are not inundated with replies!
the clutch was the first thing we worked on... mine was terrible!
for a quick fix..try automatic transmission fluid that works well, or use the actual oil recommended in manual ...
everything else ain't no good
then you get the clutch leaver and reservoir from the 315....it works better
then you get aset of mitani clutch plates...........by this time it should be working well
why they couldn't fix this on the world's most expensive , most hi-tech machine is beyond me .......................................masso
-
thats engine oil this is what happens when you put too much oil in ...excess gets blown into air cleaner ....cool huh?
-
just a minute here lads!.......we are not talking about one of those old carburetor jobs,
this is a fancy-dancy...computerized thingy!!!.......if more are leaks in, the injector compensates for it by putting in more gas....much like going from seee level to wayyyy up there in the mountains!
you gotta re-arrange your thinking on this!!
fast idle is preferable anyways, it makes starting easier.....once your moving it isn't noticable
...........................masso
-
I have one of the first 4rt's ...its taken me about a year to getting just right, but she;s fine once you do.
then this buddy of mine bought a 06.....the bloody thing runs great right out of the crate!
it nalso has ALL restrictors out!!!
get rid of stock air cleaner....install one from a 315!!!
-
I've had this happen twice!...both times it was a new plug that got it going!
oh, and just a hint of throttle.
but what you've done is the sin of all sins.....don't lay on side for too long!!
the sensor, dude ...the sensor!!!
-
dude....put a 43 tooth on the rear and it will all go away
-
dude...what in gods name is a 349?????
-
...........yes, same complaint I had....only a problem when your trail riding tho
don't think sprockets could change that, since its internal gearing ..........
-
dude....looks like you have a flat tire!!...............masso
