  2. Hi,changed the rings in a scorpa 250 05 last yr,i had them from steve goode motorcycles but am sure Nigel Birkett motorcycles will have them in stock, also check the nicosil plating in the barrel as this can wear,Nigel Birkett does an exchange barrel.
  3. James Dabill and Michael Brown have already started enduro.........sign of things to come.
  4. You could try putting bike in first gear and get somebody to hold back brake on then try and slacken it or maybe an air gun.

    Beta Rev 50

Hi,think the rev 50 will be ok for youre boy & you should be able to get a nice one for £1000,but if you can put an extra couple hundred pounds to it go for the last rev 50 they made think it was 2007 it will have hydraulic clutch & 6 speed gearbox, problem is these bikes are like hens teeth to find & with xmas round the corner are going to be more expensive. Good luck.
  6. Sounds like you were having the same problems as us,but obviously you are not from Carmarthen West Wales because our club are not supportive. My son was making the big step from conducted to the adult easy route and like youre self was finding it difficult but was managing, however i found it difficult when a club expected you to do laps, for example you had 4 laps each 1 mile long thats 4 miles i have to push, pull & pick my boy up,when asking the club for help, for example go to first section and do it 4 times then move on to next, which makes life a lot easier for the parent we are told no so we ask again and still told no and then i wonder why there is a lack of youth riders in West Wales.
  7. Yea,we have put our sons two Beta 80s on ebay & bought him a KTM 85,we gonna follow the crowd & go MX,another youth rider lost to the world of trials & we definately wont be coming back, trials was a minority sport 30yrs ago & if the ACU have there way it still will be in 30yrs time.
  8. Jimmy, open you're eyes or put you're glasses on and read what i said "found it very difficult with very little help" i did not say nothing is done to support riders, you are twisting it,as for Project 2000...yes we have done it.
  9. I was simply asked a question as to whether i could do better and i gave an answer,as for asking myself what i can do for the sport,i do like the majority of trials riders do ,we turn up and ride, that is our way of supporting the sport,so before you jump on you're high horse and start preaching to me that without organisers and work parties you would not have a trial then i will say to you without riders you wont need to organise a trial. When we go to our local a & b grade trials there may be 50-60 riders with 6 sections out of that 50-60 riders they cant find 6 observers. Some people like to ride "THE MAJORITY" and some people like to be more actively involved in the running of the sport, they do it because they want to do it,make no mistake of that and when they decide they dont want to do it they will soon let you know, its the same in all motorcycle sport not just trials
  10. Nobody is asking you to sit still and launch up 7 foot wall unless you are a national rider and judging by the bikes you own you are a long way off that,if you find that type of trial to hard for you then there are plenty of club trials you can do
  11. I would put it to a public vote like the government do when it comes to election, then it would be an unanimous decision
  12. OK Mr Collins,I have read what you have to say and a lot of it makes sense and i agree with you,but now let me have my say.My first involvement with trials was back in 1980 it was a minority sport then with very few youth,30yrs later we get back to trials but this time with my son only to find its still a minority sport with very few youth,in other words it has not progressed at all but the level of riding has. We belong to the W/S Wales Centre which you are probably familiar with and as you would know is a fairly large center in that center we have about 4 youth c riders,in the welsh c & d championship there are 2 youth c riders and 2 youth d riders which you have to admit is pathetic, all this on you're door step Mr Collins. In the 2 yrs that we have been doing trials,we have found it very difficult with very little help as a result i feel fed up and have got to the point where i dont care who i upset or offend and that includes you Mr Collins. As for having an active role in a club and going to centre meetings to try and sort something out which should have been sorted yrs ago i dont need to when i can speak to the man himself on here. Mr Collins,i would say the gentleman who organises our local conducted trials has done more for youth trials with very little recognition than you have ever done. So Mr Collins i would suggest to you and you're ACU mates to open you're eyes and look at the state of youth trials in the UK especially Wales As for the ACU re introducing stop allowed for 2013 is because they made a mistake in 2012 and wont admit it and dont know which direction to go in 2013 so they have decided to go both directions
  13. But he has not done much for youth trials
  14. The youngsters aint gonna figure it out if they dont get involved, there is a lack of youngsters in trials as it is.
  15. Well lets hope the youngsters see it that way, because if they dont trials in 20/30 yrs time will still be a very secretive sport with the minority doing it
  16. Dont understand when you say the courses are to hard for many competitors, down here we have the b grade trial which normaly has 3 routes easy, hard & for the ones who cant make there minds up 50/50,i find its the youth that get it hard, they are chucked in at the deep end normally on a course thats to hard for them on a bike thats to big for them and a club who could not care less about them.
  17. Yea thats the one, thats the trouble with no stop there is to many ifs & buts "did he stop or did he not"
  18. Its called public opinion or freedom of speech, everybody is entitled to it,as for being more active at you're club or work party that aint gonna change nothing the FIM or ACU will still carry on playing god and making decisions regardless,go and look at Moto GP and see what a good job the FIM have managed to do there. Trials has evolved, you dont go backwards to move forward,we have a lot of talented youngsters in this country just the ACU have not got a structure in place to bring them on.
  19. Just thought it might be an idea to keep everybody happy, but i know which section i would watch at, stop allowed.Agree, not one extra bike will be sold as a result of rule changes, they will have to wait for the economy to pick up for that.
  20. In fact the clubs do right the opposite, they dont want people there, they want to keep the sport for themselves,i to have the same problem as you, when i work on the bikes i get people coming up and saying ....what a funny looking bike it has no seat,so i tell them its a trial bike its not supposed to have a seat you are meant to stand up,they look confused so i explain what trials is all about but they still look confused then i ask them do you remember the TV programme in the 80s called Kickstart where the bike rode over the car,yes comes the reply they remember that because it was televised and it was something out of the ordinary.
  21. Yes i agree ,the oset has grown over the yrs especially up north,i know nige & nick from Trials UK do a lot to promote it and thats the level that you want to get kids started, theres plenty of talent out there with the kids they just need a chance to shine.
  22. Got to have the landowners permission other wise trials bikes and riders will get a bad name and that wont do the sport any good.We are lucky,we have 30 acres of woodland that the farmer lets us use and its only about 2 miles from where we live
  23. Good point, bit of a variation it is WTC after all.
