  1. Just raising this old subject if I could. Can one of you guys or anyone else explain more about the TY mono exhaust system? Front section first: does this have some sort of packing inside to keep it quiet, and does it deteriorate over time? And if it's no good inside, can I cut it open, replace the packing and reweld closed again? The back alloy section: does it also have a packing that goes off and needs replacing? My bike has a loud bark to it and I imagine that it should run quieter, which I'd like to do, without forking out a fortune for new aftermarket exhausts. Many thanks.
  2. Hey mate, good to know of another new pinky owner. Enjoy the ride. That connection to the 350 manual is good. I have a real 250 manual, so if you need any specific info drop us a line. andy.bird@publicismojo.com.au Oh yeah, mine is noisey, too.
  3. Thanks guys, appreciate your advice. Feels like she veers a little on the run, but that could be the back wheel which is out of true. Will try the string line and see what that reveals. Cheers, bird.
  4. G'day, Just trying to work out whether my new purchase Pinky has a bent frame or had a major tumble. Can anyone with a mono tell me whether the two rear mudguard mounts should line up parallel, ie the bolt holes line up opposite each other. Looking at the rear of my bike the right hand strut sits higher, or has been bent up that way. The mudguard has never sat straight either, twisting to the right, and this discovery may explain why. I'm also a bit suss about the main frame piece that bolts to the base of the engine. I'd like to make sure the frame is right before I waste time and money getting it painted and put the whole show back together, so would really appreciate any help or frame photos anyone has. Cheers, bird.

    New Pinky Owner

Greetings from Brisbane, Australia. Finally got up my first trials bike - YamahaTY250R Pinky mono. Fairly original condition, but needs some serious TLC which I'll get stuck into over winter. Keen to connect with any other TY250R or similar owners out there who might be able to help with advice and any know-how in the future – I'm sure to need it! Cheers. bird.
