Hello all I am in need of some help.
I am new to trials and have been trying to get the front wheel up and wheelie so i can get over logs ect...
I have found that in second gear i have to really rev it to get the torque to get it up where as if in third i can lift it easier as the torque is lower down.
My question is am i running the right sproket sizes or do i need to change them to a different size to get more grunt from second as it always seems to rev its nuts off!
I have got a 10t on front and a 41t on back. any recomendations welcome.
thanks chris

Has anyone done the bmv trial binegar? what is it like? what is the car park like do i need the 4x4?
Cheers chris
-
Do all the bikes face forward together? How much gap between the handle bar ends?
Thanks chris
-
Hello all I wonder if you can help me, I am looking at a dave cooper trials trailer and the measurements between the two front wheel mount are 19"! my handle bars are 17" from wheel to end of bars! Will two bike fit as the handle bars will hit each other surly??
The bikes both go forwards from what i can see, If one went forward and one went backwards I can see the they would fit but being both forward I cant see that they will fit?
Has anyone got a photo of two bike fitted to one will be a very big help.
Meny thanks chris

Have you tried removing and resealing?
Otherwise you can fit an innertube, alot of people will proberly come on here and go no no no dont fit one it will pinch ect... but i know a few people who have fitted them with no problem. If you are just doing the club route and not anything extreme then it will be fine. Also gordon farley recomends using them to.
I would not fit any gunk into the tyre to try and stop it as that just make a hell of as mess and a pain to clean out again.
My Gas Gas 2010 250 leak air from the back rim too but only over a couple of weeks. I am waiting for it to get worse then i will put a tube in mine. My father inlaw has put a tube in his with no trouble at all!
Let me know how you get on.
-
They all do up to the rim? Do you mean where the spokes are isolated from the rim so you don't get rim leak from the spokes?

At the end of the day people will use what they are happy with and what beet suits there bike! No two clutches are the same. Me personally would keep the ATF in my auto boxes and cars steering racks! My opinion. Do your own tests and find the best oil for you and which works best in your bike. Don't let anyone say there is a wrong or write oil, as you can see everyone uses different oils so there can't be a write or wrong.

Hdx740 is 75w and is fully syn, bvm reccomended it for my Gas Gas. It is the best oil I have used. It is also reccomended for the monts 315 2stroke and the 4rt! And the 315's were known to be very fussy on there transmission oil. You will never have 100% no drag but you won't as little as you can!
-
Plus do you relay won't ATF living ur bearing?? I know I would rather spend a little more on some better quality oil
-
I have heard that atf swells the clutch pach and makes clutch drag!! I did try it on my Gas Gas txt pro 250cc 2010 and my clutch dragged quite abit. I had to remove whole clutch clean out and flush plates the refit. I then used some elf hdx740 which is transmission oil for the mont 315, and it is fantastic bit expensive but it is a very good oil. other oil is silkoline light gear oil which is cheap but just as good

Just recived an email from my trials club today to tell me that the trial I was going to do at the wekend is cancelled due to flooding! What a pain was looking forward to getting out this weekend!
Im in bournmouth anyone know of any trials that are on at weekend?
-
Yea i know but cant make that one as got a horse event i have to do (keep the wife sweet lol). Next one i'll be doing is treefields for waltham chase.
-
Hi all I have a pair of hebo Eco boots in brown pu suede leather look. What is the best way to clean them as they tend to show mud still after washing with water and sponge.
Been told to use a steamer to clean then leave to dry?
Is this any good?
-
Hello all another question has anyone done treefields trial in gosport area?
What is the ride like any good.
It's a Waltham chase club ride.
Thanks in advance chris
-
Did you go? I was the one on 2010 Gas Gas number 30 yellow. What number were you? I came in the burgendy colour frontera with two bikes in trailer.
Found it go slippery towards end esp numbers 6 and 8!.
Very good for me to practice on slippery surfaces.
-
cursed if you put Penselwood in satnav and it will take you to the a303 and you should see the signs from along that road. when on a303 keep going until you come to the b3081 turn left onto it then turn right straight after and should be posted there.
Hope that helps abit.
-
No sorry no postcode that all i got to go of to lol.
Its not an open trial it is a acma club so anyone can turn up and pay £15 for day which include insurance as well for something.
First trial i found quite hard but on the 3rd round i was happy as I got a couple of clear sections and was getting abit more confidant with the bike and conditions.
-
its a blackmoore vale trial anyone can do it i think its £15 entry. Going to be my first time there and second trial in total so far, been told it is a good trial.
Blackmore Vale TC (AMCA). Club Jubilee Trial at Penselwood, sp from junction of A303 & B3081 roads. 11am. Dave Ricketts. 01747-828669.
Hope that help all i can get on the place did ask on here but not meny replys .

I would be inclind to remove clutch and check if it was me. I would not expect oil to make clutch leaver go hard, would expect it to course drag or slip. If all was fine before that clutch was fitted i would remove measure pack width with should be between 9.75-9.85mm and the clutch fingers need to between 16-19mm check out this video = http://youtu.be/336BDbcZEMM
-
did you set the clutch up i.e measure the pack width, and the distance between the clutch spring and plate (how hight the springs sit)
-
Hope treefields will be nicer than the Steep Marsh one. was my first trial and i found that very slippery to start with. I was the one holding everyone up lol but sorry about that. Was a brill day tho and got lots of helpfull tips and hint from the guys. Cant wait for treefields, also cant wait for the Penselwood trial on monday 4th june.
-
Pack width should be between 9.75 and 9.85
-
Also wat oil u using? ATF has been known to swell plates making clutch drag. You will also alway get a small amount of drag with the Gas Gas. So I have been told
-
have you riden the Penselwood trial? I did see that but been told by the bloke that is organising it that its good but would like to hear other peoples opinions.
