  1. Would love to hear more about these sort of antics, have you ever heard of 44/44 ? Home produced liqueur made with coffee . One lump or two sir ?
  2. Made Vodka out of Quince . It's about the only thing that tastes nice that you can make from them things . We had wheel barrows full of the things . We used to have Slows,Nectarine, plum and Mirabelle growing in our garden when we lived abroad . Mirabelle is really alcoholic bearing fruit and when they fall, you can smell them starting to ferment , The product " Eau de Vie " that's water of life to you and i , is made from them in France . Proper kick in the balls from that stuff . The French put sugar with the drink in the glass ,ramps up the alcohol .
  3. Copemech , the Triumph looks smart . Must admit, bet that bike runs tons better with them carbs on . They look like Mikunis . Was the bike from the track converted to the road , or is it a road bike . From looking at the pic there seems to be quite a few track bike fabrications on there . HTRdoug . My choice exactly . Run a 18 x 4.0 inch rear and 19 x 2.15 inch front (for a road going bike) co-built fork yolks and R6 RWU forks . DT 360 tank. Mick Abbey hydro-formed expansion chamber and mild tune , 36mm Mikuni with pod filter and put a fork brace on like the one fitted to Kenny roberts YZ 400 flat tracker . Convert the hubs and fit discs .
  4. That stupid pillock going on about removing the baffles and the bikes being louder than a jet , what a cock ! I live near BAE Warton and the Euro fighter (for instants) shakes the house when it goes over here , try one of them on your back field then , or a cop helicopter , how loud are they ? The funny thing is the cops let the guy on the bike off with a "stiff" talking to , bet he's crapping himself now then !
  5. Couldn't agree more ! Also really like Bryan Smiths Monster ER 650 Kawasaki , There is a flat track scene here in the UK,but, this sport for me belongs to the USA , the crop of riders it's thrown up is astounding . The bike's ,well ,say no more !
  6. Any of you American guys into flat track racing ? Seen a cracking DT1 from the Dan Rouit flat track museum in the States and i'm going to replicate it . Go to google and type in flat tracker 2 strokes , look for his name and check out the 27th image . Oh , could really annoy the local plod with that. Tax exempt , BSI kite mark on exhaust not necessary. A big middle finger to the rules on that bike . What do you think lad's (and lasses) ? Shy T
  7. Sure iv'e read some place on this site that Motts or Axo have something to do with Mr Hebo . Ted

    Clutch Drag...

As a rider to this , and i did it on my own 280 ,if you fit new plate's , see the clutch thread on the Beta column by Dan Williams . It's a lot of work but the results speak for them selves . Not every bit would apply to your gasser so have a good read . Personally , i think using ATF is better left for it's hydraulic application , not a bike's gear box .
  11. I bare testement to not wearing boots . A 30 stitch scar on my right calf . kick start went into muscle . Lesson learned eh .

Hello pal , called snittle up last night and he's dead busy and taking calls after 18.30 but he said that the one's he's looked at should be no bother and now know's your interest . Hope you don't mind that i called him ,just didn't want to send you the wrong way . ted
  13. That's why i use the crap grease because as soon as it come's in contact with pressure it turns to oil . Used it for a year on a chain that cost £35 , another crap quality product , but got a year out of it and the only reason iv'e taken it off Ship , is because it stretches like knicker elastic . The chain saw oil is good . Got plenty of that from living in Europe .

Yes most defiantly Jame's who owns SNITMAN 07967890463 . He's professional and can do what you want . Talk to him . Ted . Or if they're the bubble type one's that are on the later models GasGas uk . Ordinary one's Snittle is your guy .
  15. Ha ha ha and that don't just apply to bike's as we all know . Personally i don't think you can go wrong with any of the bikes at that model year . I think you can get good bargains on a brand new ,very slightly used GasGas from Sandifords just now and i take notice of what lad's are riding the most of with Sherco and Montesa being in the minority . Not saying that's bad or Sherco are a bad bike . If he like's the Sherco and he's sure let him go with his gut , myself GasGas .
  16. That's brill ! At last a modern manufacturer has put a reliable brake system on a trials bike that won't cock up even if it's abused . Very nice bike , enjoy it !
  17. Oh yes lot to learn some bastido's out there . Kama boy's , it comes back in spade fulls .
  18. Hello ship . I use similar stuff . The red rubber grease i use is just made by Silkoline and clear plumbers silicon grease from local plumbers shop . Also cheap nasty LM grease for the chain but castrol LM 2 for those bearings etc . One you want to try is Molly Cote . Not cheap but had one tube for over 2 years . It's like the SAS of thread coatings . Sticks like poo to a blanket !
  19. Daft question but have you asked your son ? Not trying to be smart but that's where i would start and iv'e got 4 lad's .
  20. Had a great day up at Staveley ,west moorland trial . Whole family went and the weather , well any one who doesn't know what English bank holidays are like ,it usually pees down with rain , but great is a good word to describe it . On our way home , we were joining the A6 ( i hate motorway driving ) from the A591 out side of Kendal , going towards Milnthorpe . Went down the slip road to a roundabout come junction .Waiting to join the road , a young lad on a yam DT 125 goes past with 'L' plates on which drew my attention . We join 2 cars after . Follows the road comes off another slip to the roundabout and there's a que of traffic . Lad on DT is staying in the que behind this silver Seat Ibeza . Cars move along until it's seat mans turn . Traffic is busy , he decides he's going to go and wants to make a dash , moves off at a rate but then his bottle goes and he jabs the brake on sharpish . The lad on the DT had commited to moving off and had put his feet on the pegs when he has to jam on the brake's . Bike goes into the back of the car with the front tyre lad role's onto the floor . No damage done . Guy jumps out of his car storms round the back looks at his rear bumper , does't say a word ,lad and bike still on floor , he sees no damage ,leaves lad on floor , guy fires back into his car and moves off again . No injuries but the car driver didn't hang around to find out , probably in a rush to get his tea . Why are people , us , getting afraid to help each other ? It would have cost two minutes to help that kid but the guy just knackered off and left him on the floor.Just stepped over him like dog ***** . What a **** ! Is that man human ? Ted .
  21. Installed new grips , stripped linkages and greased , new oil , new tyres ,new chain and sprockets , front rim in really bad shape , is actually starting to split at the through point on the tyre clamp where some DH has over tightened the nut . Just goes to show , when people leave bikes standing for a while ( This bike was left for two years before it came to me without turning a wheel ) how the metal moth starts to munch through where it can . riding in a trial on Monday .

    Engin Cleaned

Nice job ,and glad to see you have a nice stack of Koyo's there instead of Chinese pish .
  23. Took this photo and then rode it over some rocks and hills !
  24. Yes of coarse , there's a horse place about two miles off that buy repair and sell tack . Didn't give that a thought . good prompt , thanks , you can now change your name to that's a - clean !Shyted .
  25. Narrowly missed a nasty injury last Saturday when a length of tree trunk which had been chopped down and left by the side of a section , pinned me firmly to the foot rest and frame . Couldn't move and it stopped me dead . Length of wood pierced my boot leaving a 2" wide hole and matching bruise . My boots are 1 year old so anyone out there know who can repair them ? Local cobbler say's the leathers to thick for his machine to sew. Thought of having a crack myself but decided against it .
