Great minds and all that...I made a similar edit to your main article!!!
-
Does that mean I'm roped into compiling a daily TC leaderboard to help me while away the hours in the office?!
-
Nah. He's just a curt bugger too.

The police have explicitly stated that NO children are allowed on bikes this year.
It's a shame for those of you who like to take your kids along the high street with you, but I'm afraid we have to go with what we're told on this one. It's been highlighted to every rider in their entry pack, and will also be brought to everyone's attention on the day, so although it's a disappointment, hopefully it won't be a surprise to anyone this time.
Apologies...

I'm being multi-cultural. Nothing to do with not knowing the difference between verbs and nouns.
Honest.

I've had a few queries in recent weeks regarding the type of license that is valid for the SSDT. This seems to stem from the cost of purchasing a full FIM international license, so for the avoidance of any doubt there are only four types of license valid for the SSDT :
ACU Registration Card
SACU License
MCUI License
Full international license
Unfortunately your national license from your home FMN, other than the three listed above, is not sufficient for riding the SSDT (in line with regulation 1.4 of our Supplementary Regulations), so please make sure you bring the correct license with you as you won't be able to start the trial on Monday morning without it! Any questions, drop us a line at the SSDT office.

Depends how competent a rider you are...
How do stranger?! None of this 'hoping to observe' malarky - your hotel room is booked, so you're in and that's that! You'll be in a squad of observers for the week - generally each bike team will be loaded into a van and taken to the nearest accessible point of the road, then you'll be turfed out and sent on your way to find the sections. There's very few days where a bike squad sets off from the hotel, but you never know, you might get lucky!
See you there!
-
Go for it! It's usually a good day out, and the A9 ain't that bad these days!
-
'Ello Buggerlugs - how do? I see you're causing a stoosh again...!
-
Five days to go, and still 113 entrants to pay...
Remember, if your payment isn't in our account by close of business on Friday 15th, then your entry is gone. See the front page article for full details!
-
You're away?! Bugger! Who was I growling at on Wednesday morning on the M9 then?! I was sure it was you tailgating me!

We now have a lot of payments successfully received - many thanks to those of you who paid properly! However, there's five payments that can't be identified as no reference has been given with the transfer. All five of them are people who have gone into an RBOS branch and paid the money directly to the teller rather than transferring from their own account - if you used this method of payment, please read on in case one of these is yours!
7th January : Payment made at RBOS Livingston branch
11th January : Payment made at RBOS Dyce branch
18th January : Payment made at RBOS York branch
22nd January : Two payments made one after the other at an unidentified branch!
If you think that any of these could be yours, please email me at SSDT Office. Remember, if we can't tell that you've paid, you've lost your place, so it's worth checking!
The two payments made yesterday were made side by side - I can't identify the branch at the moment, but if you paid over the counter with one of your pals yesterday, please let me know...there can't be that many of you out there!

Waited for a late entry? He wasn't waiting, he was working! Official translator, Walter is, and worth his weight in gold!

The SSDT forum was obviously the wrong place to announce the Pre-65 entry list...sorry guys, I'll get it right from now on! On behalf of the P65 organising committee, here's some bits and pieces of information that you may be interested in :
The Route
The Trial route is similar to last year but part of the Friday course will be run in reverse with some new sections included. There will be no change to the severity of the sections.
The Entries
Entries received at the closing date was 318 which is slightly up on last year and despite entries being available for 10 weeks 22 riders still managed to miss the closing date. These riders all got letters telling them that their entry was late and therefore was not included in the ballot. This meant an oversubscription of 138 riders at the closing date who had to be notified as unsuccessful which is regrettable but unavoidable. There were almost 90 Tiger Cubs entered.
Important Note!
The Club would like to emphasize that the rule for the Triumph/BSA four stud forks will be strictly enforced.
I'm just posting this on behalf of the committee...I'm afraid I've got nothing to do with the trial itself so can't answer any questions you may have. However, I will hopefully have more details passed across for publication in the coming weeks, so I'll post them in this forum as and when they arrive.
Cheers!

Pre-65 entry list is now on the SSDT site for anyone who's interested.
Please note that's just posted on behalf of the organising committee at their requiest - I can't answer any P65 questions cos I'm totally clueless about it all!

So far we've got eleven SSDT payments into our bank account, and only seven of them can be identified. Already four people have sent their entry fees in without a reference to tell me who they are or who their payment is in respect of.
Can I just remind everyone that if we can't identify that a payment is yours, you will lose your place in the trial. Come 15th February I'll be going through all the statements, matching off all the payments we've got with the entrants, and if I can't match your payment with your entry fee then you lose out. No excuses accepted - it's your responsibility to put a reference on your payment. I have neither the time nor the inclination to be trailing round banks trying to get them to trace payments for me!
Of the four problem payments received so far, two of them give me enough clues to allow me to narrow it down to a handful of riders, who I'll contact individually to work out whose payments they are. The other two have some details given below - if you think they could be yours, send an email to ssdtoffice@ssdt.wanadoo.co.uk and we'll see if we can match up the remaining information to identify you as the payee.
The very first payment made was on 7th January, and the only reference given was the payee's sort code. If you were exceptionally keen and paid straight away from a Scottish RBOS bank account, please get in touch as soon as possible so that I can mark you as having paid your fee!
The second payment was an international bank transfer - the only one received so far in fact, so if you've paid by international transfer already, please get in touch so that you don't lose out.
Strop over!
-
Cheers Ishy. Sounds like a great plan.
-
The Index tells it like it is...
-
Nae chance. It's worked like this for 99 years, so we ain't changing it now!
-
They're scared
Nah - in most cases it's because it falls smack in the middle of the outdoor season. The top lads aren't allowed to ride trials like the SSDT because of the risk of injury, t'is in their contracts...unfortunately for us! Barcota is right though - Dougie's back for 2008!
-
Cheers for that Lewis - was starting to think it must've been cancelled!
-
For those of you who are twiddling your thumbs waiting for the Sheffield results to come in later on, the SSDT ballot has been done and the entry list has been posted on the SSDT website.
Good luck to those of you who've got in, and apologies to those of you who haven't - I'm off to grab some dinner before the abuse starts.
-
Ach go on then - gerrorf yer a*** and get yourself up to Scotland for a week in May! If not the week, come up for the last weekend - it's a fantastic time, EVERYBODY who comes up has a ball, and you'll be back for your 51st.
