The Scorpa looks to be 08 as it has the Marzocchi Alloy forks.
-
Hi Ben, Haven't logged on for a while, I've replied to your PM mate.
-
Hampshire police have found two trials bikes in West Wood, Netley Abbey, Southampton. Presumed stolen as well hidden. Could people share or post to other groups to find owners please.
-
You need to find a Paioli shock the same as you have, The rev 3 has no linkage so the shock is a special design rising rate. Why no get your old one reconditioned. The yellow shock will not work properly in a REV3.
-
If you can carry a bottle of spare water you can also carry a lid with a piece of pipe, Simplez, and the info is in the manual you get with the bike.
-
I thought the later racing type triple (same as raga 11 on) had a pinch clamp built in rather than the bolt that winds up against the collar. It could be the collar is too small and the clamp can't pinch it tight.
-
Subframe rails are cast alloy with a webbing in the hollows, They can break. If you have to lift it, in emergency pick it up near the bolts that hold it to the frame at it's strongest point.
-
£58 is not dear when it means you can ride the bike for another 20 years!
-
-
10 tooth front sprocket will slow it down.
-
Normally copper washers on beta Paioli forks, Seen some forks with a metal washer with built in rubber seals, Who done the seals? Dealer?.
-
Mine has just the outer ring bolted on.
I have only ridden the bike round the yard to see how it runs then tore it apart. I will probably take the weight off during the rebuild as I hate heavy flywheels!
I presume this is the big weight?
-
The grey stuff in the casing is just powder coating that has swelled up and lifted due to the antifreeze, It then gets munched up by the impellor.
The cases are coated inside and out and they are not etched primed first, Just spent a few hours scraping an evo casing back and the powder was not adhered properly on all casings. Seems to be worse on the factory model magnesuim casings.
The Rev3's were very good on that year, you will have lots of fun on that!
-
Youth's can ride in this event as long as age and engine size requirements are met as per ACU rules, We can sort out a class for them.
3 routes, Non stop, Very Easy, average and tricky.
The Keith Marshall Classic Trial
Another date for your diary – but not if you put water in your bike!
Waltham Chase MCC have added another date to their calendar – The Keith Marshall Classic – being held in memory of Keith Marshall, a well respected Southern Centre classic bike rider who sadly passed away last year.
Keith’s family have sponsored an annual award for this event , The Keith Marshall Classic Shield, which will become an annual “Open Trial” for Waltham Chase MCC.
This trial, which is open to riders of Pre65, Twin Shock, Air Cooled Mono’s and TY 80s only, is being held at Hut Hill, Chandlers Ford on Saturday the 9thApril.
There is already some considerable interest and it is recommended that you enter in advance for this event.
You can download an entry form from the Waltham Chase web site –www.walthamchasetrials.co.uk
There will be catering facilities at this event.

As has been said, the rear tank was fine once they added a return line and used direct crankcase take off for the vacuum line.
The bikes still came with inadequate cooling, badly jetted carbs, too high compression for our fuels and not the best suited ignition maps.
Sherco said the front tank and airbox change was better for power as they had to explain the change in the press somehow.
They couldnt say, "The scorpa setup is lots cheaper as they are ordered in larger quantity now for both bikes, Cheaper material and less fabrication, Less hoses and no Dellorto fuel pump to buy.
New Dunlops are an improvement (on the costs!!!).
-
That's the 300 compared to std, I don't know about the 250.
-
I think an early water cooled mono is no more competitive than a late air cooled mono, Their time will come but it will be quite a few years.
There's the odd Yam round our parts but I've never seen another A/C mono (except a youth on a fantic 80).
I'm building 2 at the moment to ride in the normal classes.
It would be nice to see a few more as that's my late teenage era.
On a normal clubman route C these bikes can still be ridden well and will be no more demanding than a new bike.
Plus I will not have the anal types whinging if every bolt is not original.
-
Tech forks are 39mm and one of the best forks you can get, Come in gold too, Why not get some, About £600ish.
Ohlins stuff is very dear, the MX ers would pay the money but 90% of trials riders wouldn't, They would be best part of a grand I'd imagine.
-
They are more controlled, They seem smoother off the bottom, less torquey but gain revs very quickly and scream to the top.
They have different Cylinder, Crank, Head, Exhaust Front pipe, CDi mapping, Magnesium cases, Suspension etc.
Read up on the spec, It's not just cosmetics.
Easy to ride but can catch you out when on song.
-
The Beta manual is wrong on this, A few mentioned it on here when I was looking for info, I tested and can confirm it, Defiantly Open circuit for fast map.

As Ham said, Plastic is cheaper than the cost of alloy fabrication and a fuel pump. I hear they have put the cheaper Dunlops on the new bikes too!
-
Seen some that need a full rollcage!!!, I know silly reply, but then again it goes with the post!!!
-
4 RT is great fun but not easy to ride. If you ride alot of mud you will really struggle. Only the very experienced clubmen types can get them to grip.
-
Not this one again!!!, We have been over this before in great lengths with dadoff and dabster having world war 3.
Years ago there was no stupid green party and land was more available for a bottle of scotch to a farmer or for free, Nowadays land is in short supply and it it costs, Some local club events have to get over 50 riders just to pay for the land.
Trials clubs don't make much after insurance, Permit's, stewards fees, Insurance, Land, Charity donations,Trophies etc.
