2011 onwards sherco, Best bike I've found for grip. You would probably be at home on the 250.
-
I can't seem to picture a 98 Scorpa tys 125, I'm not aware of such a model. If It does exist it will surely have a disk front brake, Why on earth would you want that on a BSA??
Post a picture of the Scorpa so we can see what it is.

There is so much that goes on behind the scenes of a large trials club, Most riders don't realize quite how much but a large percentage appreciate what we do and are always sure to thank after every trial.
Add the nightmare of sorting dates so they don't clash with other clubs, applying for the permits and writing the report for the tmx, It still doesn't cover all the work that goes into keeping a club going.
I think sorting flags is the worst job and fishing about the bags for the start and ends cards, Takes me 2 hours after a muddy trial.
As others have said and most of the trials community will agree, Trials, Compared to other motorcycle sports is outstanding value for money.
It's a shame but every sport has its moaners, Just need to bite our lips and not take it to heart.
-
I rarely see any AC Mono's down south, I will be riding mine in the normal class when I've finished it.
If anyone has one in the back of the shed they fancy digging out I'm sure I can get a class sorted in our trials down here.
Then I won't be Billy No Mates on my JCM!!!!
-
I am tempted to cut a slot in the frame where it mounts to weaken it so it breaks the frame instead if all goes wrong.
Much cheaper to weld the lugs back on the frame if they break.
-
The tank breather if fine, valve was fitted as std. I'm on about the carb breather.
You've got me thinking now, Maybe I can fit a one way valve to the carb breather.
It wouldn't work on the overflow obviously but the overflow hardly leaks any fuel out due to the tube in the float bowl.
The trouble with Keihin carbs is they are very sensitive and the valve might upset the air pressure in the float bowl. It wouldn't hurt to try it though.
As Dadof has suggested connecting a pump to the breather back to the fuel tank, I imagine it could work but with a vented catch tank.
Back to fuel Injection, I Imagine it could be made cheap as electric pumps and components take less to make than a complex carb, add the price of alloy and brass in a carb and fuel injection could be cheaper to produce subject to patent costs.
I think the main reason most 2T bikes are still carbed is because they all wanted to sit back and watch Ossa do all the hard work and swallow the r&d costs then wait till they got it right and copy them.
I would have a newer Ossa any day, I'm very fussy about how a bike fuels and I must say I love the Ossa when mapped right.
I have to stick to the Gasser this year as the JCM project is swallowing all my toy money at the moment.
For what it's worth (not alot coming from me). I feel Fi is the right way forward for new trials bikes.
-
I'm not knocking your creativeness but I could imagine it slicing someone to pieces in an accident.
If I was machine examining and came across it you would be back to your car for some wire cutters before riding.
I do mean this nicely, Please no offence.
-
How about the simple bulldog clip, Been using one for years and have never lost a number even when giving it some on a straight.
Used on 2 gas gas and 1 sherco now.
-
How about these, apparently they are ribbed for better control!!!!

Or the foam type ones
-
Runaway revs point towards an air leak on the inlet side or flywheel side crank seal, That would make the bike use more fuel also but not that much.
-
It should fit the AJP I have interchanged them before. If in doubt just compare the fittings side by side.
-
From the environmental side my bike leaks mainly out of the breather rather than the overflow (Keihin), I wouldn't want to connect a pump to that!!!!!
The solution it to ban endos or disconnect my front brake.
-
What we need is fair trade milk, Co Op etc is quick to support coffee growers and coco banana blokes on the other side of the world.
Sorry, Off topic still.
-
Checked mine today and all is fine at the moment, There's hardly a scratch on my bashplate and I've noticed it's got anti slip teeth on the bottom.
I know what you mean, Crazybond, I have done loads of them in the press on various bikes, mainly customers not my own, Some of them do need a lot of pressing past the point of no return as they spring back.
-
I used to set mine to 0.6.
A few months ago I noticed I was getting a slight mis fire at the top end of the revs, I changed the plug and it didn't cure it.
To cut a long story short I changed the plug a few times after checking all other stuff and then it suddenly stopped.
What I found a few rides later when I checked the plug, I forgot to gap it so I set it to 0.6 and then the mis fire started again.
I re gapped the same plug to 0.8 and the bike was fine again and running sweet.
If you have a healthy stator running 0.7 to 0.8 will be fine, Don't go any larger as it may put strain on the electrics.
-
That's how I like clutches, Swap it for mine LOL.
-
It's good to have a debate but there is a pattern emerging here lately where almost every topic ends up being a war.
My opinion is, Sometimes it's best to give up if you fail to get your point across, rather than carry on till your blue in the face, swearing my cats blacker than yours etc.
Is this a Trials forum or dads fighting in the pits at a motocross meeting?
Right, Rant over, My turn to shut up now..
-
I used to have a Whitehawk with a DT box, I think it may have had the TY head and barrel. It was a flying machine compared to the std TY 175.
-
The Torx bit works a treat, especially with alloy, Just be sure to order up a new sump plug to put back in
-
Looking at the right hand side of the broken piece, it looks like it may have taken a hit from the bashplate.
Is there a mark on the plate relating to that point?
-
I've heard of a few of these mag cases break now. I think I'm going to look and do some mods to prevent it happening to mine.
I hate paranoia, especially when these cases are so expensive.
-
If you read the interview with Pibernet there may be a lot of clues in there, Plus the big wage bill to their freelance designer who holds the patents still for a lot of the pro components.
But again that's just my wild guess not fact.
GG had buggered up, So what, they are only human, I hope they sort it out as I love the bikes and hope to continue to ride them.
But there's always some one who will jump up and say (normally in a 1000 word essay) "you don't wanna do it like that". And the war begins.
-
I do find this a bit worrying, If they do go bust parts will dry up and the bikes will drop in value overnight.
If this does happen a mint, hardly used, Raga will be going on ebay the next day and what I get for it, I will struggle to get a bike as good without spending an extra grand or so.
Anyone with a Factory Evo wanna swap LOL.
-
That looks like me:
Package turns up in the post, I open it and shiny S3 bits fall out, The wife says "how much did that cost?", I reply "it was in the sale dear".
-
I agree that the route between the sections should be taken into consideration for the level of riders the trial is set out for.
Sometimes it may be unavoidable depending on venue but if there is an easier route to the section it should be used.
If a section is not easily accessible to all riders it should not be set out unless unavoidable.
The organizers know their venues so should advertise and pre warn competitors if some parts may be tricky to reach.
The beginners are the main ones to look out for, and for the C route, my moto is, if in doubt make it easy as no one moans if it's too easy.
