Hi guys i have an oil capacity in my users manual (US market I believe) but no oil weight, any recomendations?
Do these zokes respond to differing air gaps?
....just a thought, I'm assuming these are damper rod forks being this old?
As usual any help welcome

Blue primer.....I've never seen that before.
Must be an Italian thing...got to look good even in primer!
Many thanks for clearing that up.
-
£12.95! Cheap enough for a go, many thanks

Strange, just been getting her ready to drop off to be blasted and powdered coated and was checking the frame number details and found blue under the black, odd?
The blue paint is 'in' the frame numbers suggesting it has may of been blue from new, yes, she could of been blasted & repainted back years ago but I know from doing this myself with very fine beads it can be a very difficult to get the old paint 'out' of the numbers.
This attracted my interest and further inspection shows some more of this blue in some of the deeper frame treads where bolts don't seat right in and take the paint 'out'.
Also the front mudguard stay that is now black was blue with blue paint 'in the bolt holes...
The swinging arm doesn't show any blue at all.
I thought blue frames were came out in 1982 with the frames that had the rear mudguard hoops removed?
The blue is quite a bright blue - brighter than the Pernod blue - but with the matt finish taken off it becomes slightly darker.
Not a problem either way but I thought I'd share that with you guys and wondered if anyone else had come across this?

My 'new to me' SWM TL320 came with a 'fast action' Domina throttle assembly going by the receipt, is there really a noticeable riding difference between fast and slow actions or marketing hype?
cheers guys
PS I think I need a slow action...I'm white section std

Pics...ahh good question sir....see "is this a 1980TL" thread...
.. .I'm embarrassed to say i didn't take any before I stripped her down....took lots during the strip to remind me where the bits go though!
-
Guys thanks for your help, I'm now the owner of a 1980 TL320.,,.brought her back at 1pm....stripped down by 5pm ready for powder coating and refit. No nasty surprises but a few things I've noticed: Gearing seems high....running 14/40 at the moment.....thinking of going to a 13 front. Clutch is light, positive and I can get nuetral too...easier than my my Beta REV3! But there is no undertank lever lightener system....cable goes from lever direct to clutch cover. Shes a little crackly on the noise front....is it possible to repack the silencer....which weighs more than boat anchor? Trans oil.....10/40? Any advise welcome

some tidy bikes, some tidy riding too and good day out....I like the cheers for the riders, great atmosphere....weather helps!

my next project will be getting powder coated engine cases for sure, I just put a friend on to the powder coaters I used when I did my nut and bolt resto' on my TL125.
He had some Magnesium engine covers and ali' brake parts coated in their chrome effect powder coat they use for road alloy wheels and the result is wonderful....not super cheap but very, very impressive indeed.
We used these guys if its any help to you.

I ask as this was mentioned over a cup of tea with a friend, we weren't sure....Fantic won World Outdoor in 1985 and the SSDT in 1984 but were these mono or t/s and, both were possibly 'works issue' so may not concurr with the then production models?
got this from wiki so could be wrong?

but did have a No.6 with it though.
-
I get it now....being a hardcore drinker I never mixed mine with water!
-
from wiki....mentions Pernod too...
"In 1982 a 240 model was produced with a blue frame, acknowledging Pernod's trials sponsorship"....no TL320 frames in blue?
-
I've heard the use of blue frames was something to sponsership by 'Pernod'......or am I wrongly assuming its anything to do with a drink as I used to like a stiff Pernod and black when I was a yoof
...this bottle of my favorite Caister Soul Weekender tipple isn't really in SWM colours ...although from memory before mixing Pernod is a pale yellow as it is in this photo (unless it's someones 'sample') and there is blue in the 'Paris' on the bottle...bit tenuous though

-
Hi guys and thanks again, yes spoke with Martin, very useful conversation and nice guy to talk with.
-
Better value and more pretty too these SWMs
-
PS just what are Magicals fork springs?
-
You guys have been a great source of help amazing me with your SWM knowledge and patience with a rookie like myself to the world of the Italian Speedies, but I have another favour to ask.
I believe this TL320 pictured is a 1980....then met a guy yesterday into old twinshocks whom tells me from his memory that a 1980 SWM should be yellow with black frame (tick) but that the frame should have under engine frame tubes intact (ohh), SWM's loosing the lower under engine tubes in 1981...I should add the fella did say that 34 years on his memory could be wrong and that he owned a 1981 Gori, can any one help?
I thought Gori's were always a year behind the SWM's so this one pictured is correct in having no under engine frame tubes....that's a mouthfull (UEFT's)
....just wish to be sure regarding year...buying wrong parts in future from Martin, insuring her etc not a deal breaker, but the bike did come to the vender after being stored for years, he has obviously invested a lot of time and money in her. Bike has Sammy Miller rear shocks, Magicals front springs, new kickstart shaft, new chain/sprockets, grease nipples in headstock with new bearings etc
she's up up for a grand so a nice enough price...shame about the 5 hour drive!
Vender sounds a very genuine and knowledgable guy, a few other bikes in the background always nice to see.
She's only going to be used for twinshocks in the Norfolk Dabbers etc and sections here are tame ('ish), emphasis on fun....I'm an aweful rider and only ride for the laugh, the social side and keep myself active, I don't even tot the dabs up.....all very strange as my idea of enduro competition was the compete opposite.... even erm...relieving myself on the hoof to avoid loosing points...did I say that out loud but illness means I'm never going to a bringing any more cups home on the enduro/hare 'n hound front...and talent rules out the trials tin.
many thanks for any help gentlemen
