  1. Thanks for clearing that up.....coming from a modern Beta REV 250 thats a good tip.
  2. From what Ive read the 125/250/320 all have same frame size dimensions...i'd be grateful for clarification? Cheers guys
  3. Yup spoke with the vender today and have the piccies.....not for me sadly. Been speaking with a guy called Steve near Blackpool with a 1980 320TL....description, pictures and price sound good.....5 hour drive but "he who dares"
  4. great website Martin has there
  5. many thanks for your help
  6. As the title guys, the only twinshock i've owned was a late white frame sherpa....which i never gelled with so only having modern gear....monty and beta 250's what should i look for? Models to avoid....125 any good....few hills in norfolk parts availabilty...engine...cables...bushes....controls plastics easy to find riding experience rotary or reed valve anything else you can think of many thanks gentleman
  7. Bilks: Many thanks for that, we a few guys this using chinese CG engines in tlr frames and modern front ends too, good luck with that project like myself, i never even bother to tot up my dabs, its a fun day out for me.....that and the fact i count myself lucky to be riding due to a chronic illness....keeps me active
  8. Decals turned up from Express Signs North East (they are a franchise with many locations) look fine to me...not too sure the tank decals are going to fit though, may need massaging...seem too large these will be fitted over white fenders...I guess they would be OK on black fenders too?
  9. From the album: beta

  11. A kidney belt for trials, I would think its an overkill even for a crash test monkey like myself! I always thought they were to stop ya kidneys rattling about on hardpack mx circuits, but have to be worn so tight you struggle to take a full breath...unless I read my instructions wrong?
  12. Enduro use best waterproof jacket Ive used so far.....dickies work jacket, none of the so called breathable ones breath enough for me (!) But at least the work jacket has lining that wicks sweat away, cheap, washable, practical, waterproof pockets. Bad points: when in Wales, riding a blue yamaha wr, with white crash helmet, get taken for a copper, which can be amusing! Last week I did 20 mins practice on my beta, p****** down and dickies was fine, bit of an overkill but stayed dry!
  13. I've just ordered a one off decal kit for my Beta Rev 3...speak as you find. I wanted Italian flag il tricolore colours for my bike but couldn't design or 'get over' what I wanted even after downloading the software for picture colour massaging, I contacted a couple of companies with no joy, more my fault maybe as a failure to communicate. In case you don't know.... I sold a Disco' last week to a guy who suggested Express Signs as they wrapped his van with good results, so... Been chatting with Matthew at Express Signs, I always call with new companies as emails can get ignored if busy, a phone call won't, & it's more personnal. He has done a proof as a suggestion for what I wanted, it's spot on for what I had in mind. OK, It took a couple of calls 'n gentle nudges, but hey this is a silly small order & I'm sure they get oodles of calls & enquires that lead to nothing & waste hours on 'projects', so it's good to get hassled you know the customer is keen! .....I know how 'difficult' it can be dealing with enquires as I have a car sales....if I had a tenner for every 'no show' for an viewing appointment, lift from train station etc I wouldn't need any cars to sell..... as I write this I'm waiting at the local train station & it's 35 mins over the agreed collection time and no phone call, my baby daughter has an appointment later too that I do not want to miss . So far it's looking great, so have ordered a set. I'll let you know how I get on, but as I said, so far so good.
  14. bugger that WAS tight....all done, many thanks for the help
  15. No wish to tell you how to suck eggs, but is the knocking more of a clicky whirr? .....if so it could just be the kickstart return stop is broken, loose, that's if it's similar to my Rev 3 250 2t.....just been there!
  16. ...well I've taken the screws off and no amount of pulling, swearing and cussing can get it off....anyone have any ideas or photos of what to expect as it comes apart? many thanks
  17. OIL DRUMS: I'm going to do a similar excercise in my woods, so far I have sourced quite a few old lorry wheels with tyres so that's a start, also have the option of a few old 45 gallon oils drums (empty!)....I was wondering if I had to fill the drums with sand or something to stop them crushing or that simply having them sealed will suffice. Also need some loose rocks....they are my biggest issue, which surprised me as I'm OK on a enduro on loose stones etc doing Wales river crossings, Welsh long uphill loose boulder climbs...I can only put this down to the speed difference and is of paddling if it all goes pear shaped?
  18. Biggest problem is normally trying to bleed with the pistons not seated as far they will go...if they are on their way out you will have real problems getting the air out....strange but true I have a Corvette Stingray with a pair of 4 pot calipers and have learned this the hard way!
