Nearest place would be Cambridge Trials Centre I guess....I live in Banham.

Maybe time to crack a beer open and take a step back and go back to basics.
Has it ever run properly. If not and air/fuel/timing are ok then ya looking at mechanical silliness...like piston back back to front....rotary valve timing off....crank seal fallen out, believe it not it can give symptons of running rich due to such poor running. Saw that on an 1986 Honda CR125 a few weeks back just when I thought I'd seen it all!
Ya got the right attitude, always remember there aint no witchcraft involved although sometimes it doesnt seem that way.
PS chime back if them toads work!

Just a "been there before scenario" check the needle is correct.....difficult to see may need a magnifying glass....well I do but my eyes are shot and that the float isn't punctured.
Had a problem once on a Mikuni ( yes different) thay ended up being fuel leaking past the float needle valve due to bad O ring...just sayin'.
Good luck

Are those later 125 case reed induction?

PS James lost a few on section 13....clean on first lap then dropped a few on second and third.
-
Ahh yes James...that boy can certainly ride! My brit bike loving mate did say that his bike looked very old school.
Tough section indeed on the expert route....we were in awe of anyone that got less than a 5!
-
Thanks that excellent reply. We were at the Thumpers today, my mate and myself observing on section 13 (river section)....lots of Enfields which prompted the question.
Hmm got my thinking now.
Again, many thanks
-
Yes, it seems ya right.
Just been chatting with my brit bike mate and it appears the frames aren't suitable?
-
....worth doing or too much to do and best buy an old puka trials Enfield instead?
Any comments welcome.
Cheers

Sidcup MCC, Canada Heights is their home turf.
-
Or you could ask "which make for a better second hand purchase, newer or older bikes".....I know which way my feet would vote
-
I've heard that of the Putoline oil, but the Ipone is meant to smell of strawberry milkshakes.....I'll chime back when using it
-
The Bultaco's he mentioned weren't powder coated when new...unless I missed something which is possible of course:)
-
Not all powder coating is created equal.
Find someone using 3M materials if you want a quality finish. Yes, it aint cheap but gives a great finish, a tough rather than brittle coating and has 'popping' colours rather than 'bloomy'.
-
As an aside it was cold and damp all day. Strong Bultaco and Fantic field and the usual TY frenzy.
The Bultaco's seemed to be the hot ticket on our section, running sweetly and finding grip, whilst the Fantic's seemed to be struggling with carburation seemingly being a little more fickle with the conditions and the TYs...well they all seemed to have death rattles!

Couldn't get into the Dabbers Twinshock's round in Norfolk yesterday so my mate and myself shared a section, it was such a great experience all round.
Great laugh with the guys (and girls) , all whom were very appreciative, learnt a lot just eyeballing the different skill levels regarding lines, section walking, body English, eyelines, seeing how a section changes over time, the amount of erm unrequested gardening that goes on and just how decently set up suspension makes things that much easier.
Also got an idea at just how tough some of the calls are for the observer's too.
Everyone should give it a go, ideally before ya first actual trial to see just how things work.
Big thanks to the Dabbers too, great trial as usual. The use of punchcards makes it so much more personal, getting a chance to chat with riders and eyeball tbe bikes up close.
-
Ohh sweet, cheers fa that.
-
Any Grimeca hub'ed bike will use these so it's a fair size market I guess.
SWM, Gori, Fantic, Garelli, Armstrong, Italjet (?)
-
Spoke with Dave last week. He had some made and were fine, second batch wasn't sucessful with no plans to manufacture any more at present.
-
OK guys I want creative suggestions on how to carry a plug 'n plug spanner on the bike, twinshock SWM....my carb tweaking screwdriver sits in my front number plate zippies (cable ties)
I want a KDX style rear fender but can't find one similar...ones I've found thus far are just too big.
Cheers guys

-
my rear back plate bore where the cam goes thru is totally worn out and i will get it bushed.
....but i just cant find a new cam anywhere as mine is bent!
-
....yes, the only real chore about running twinshocks....no disc brakes.
-
Lordy.....my maintenance regime is seriously lacking
