  1. I agree with you Haggi961, part of the fun is fixing & maintaining the bike & quad come to think of it. not sure your list of wear & tear on the quad was helpful but I can see you needed to have your say. The shock for me was the £385.00 for one new fork leg tube, not even a new front fork. they are over £1200 for one. Anyway the bike is fixed now & I am loving it. so thanks again for the swap & I hope you are still enjoying the quad? Have a Merry Christmas & a Happy New Year mate. Don't forget to buy a new trials bike in the new year & you are welcome to come & join us to see how my riding is coming on. cheers Nigel
  2. The thought had crossed my mind. good news is they now look like new & should work like new now that they are fixed. I shall confirm this when I fit them back on the bike & ride on Sunday.
  3. Ha Ha, Hardly. Some things you find later when you buy second hand. These things you have to get over & put up with or get fixed.Me, I get them fixed no matter what the cost. OCD Kicked in again so I sanded the bottoms & painted them. Shockers now look like new again. This bike will be new buy the time I sell it next year.
  4. Just had new fork oil & seals done, I developed a leak on the weekend. as I took the forks off I noticed the other fork had a chip out of the upper section but though why is it not leaking also. I got the answer to that today, No flippin oil in the fork. Now I know I did not chip the upper fork leg so I must have bought it like that.
  5. Now then, How are you doing? the riding is coming on well thanks. I am getting better & braver every time I go out, which is every weekend at the moment. I have a few more plans for the bike before I sell it on next year. I will be changing the last few plastics that have marks on. The bike is just about spotless at the moment for a trials bike anyway. That's my cleaning & polishing OCD kicking in. Hurry up & get another bike, I can see why you loved it so much.
  6. Did the new tyre thing this weekend, full set of X11s. I could not get grip on a simple hill section last week. Had to give up after about ten attempts. Cracked it first attempt this week due to new tyres.
  7. The lads I ride with think I am nuts but its how I like my bike. I think I will change it next year though for a new factory beta 300.
  8. Let me know how you get on with Dalton woods mate. I ride Charltons myself but a few of us are looking for additional areas to ride.
  9. Same here, they are good strong pegs.
  10. Latest news, Fork sock are off! Also added Jitsie fat bar pad to save my teeth. New Kill switch & mounted in a better place. Jitsie Lanyard kill switch fitting this week. New grips in black & red to suit colour code of bike. I think New tires next & maybe some red bendy brake & clutch levers & a few new plastic bits.
  11. Nice one, Welcome. where abouts in Co Durham are you? where are you thinking of riding?
  12. Very Nice if not a little to expensive for me.
  13. Looks like I better order one. thanks for the help. Now I just need help with a kill switch question in the beta area of the forum if you will chaps. cheers.
  14. Can anybody tell me if the Beta evo engine stop switch is a normally open or normally closed circuit please? & if anybody was thinking of fitting one I have spotted this below, note the price. http://www.ebay.co.u...984.m1423.l2649 I believe the Beta evo lanyard kill switch look & costs this: note the price: http://www.ebay.co.u...?_trksid=p20476 or this: note the price & where its from! http://www.ebay.co.u...=item3f184943c3 I hope the links work & I have posted in the correct area?
  15. So I guess the next question is: are they easy to fit? I believe the twist grip fits straight onto the domino throttle body? Thanks for the help chaps.
  16. Sorry my misunderstanding with my answer above, my name is Wilson & I have an Evo 250 with all carbon panels & guards like the Factory bikes.
  17. It is the Factory looking 250, lol. Its not far off. At the moment I use it for a major learning curve. I have only had the bike about 2 months. No trials as yet, I was going to start entering next year once I got a grip of the bike. I want the bike to handle well at slow speeds & give me instant power when I require. not asking much!
  18. Hi All I have been looking at the above aluminium X- Pro throttle grip to fit my beta evo 250. as a novice rider which type would you advise? soft to medium power delivery or soft to ultra? Not sure if there are any other variations. thanks

    Chain Length

I bought a 102 link chain for my evo & had to take a full link out. it looked as though it was going to be tight but ended up perfect with two clicks on the snails.
  20. Nice one, I want one next.
  21. I did cool the beer chaps, don't worry. don't you like the fork sock.
  22. Sorry its taken a little while to post an update. The Beta has now had: New wheel bearings New brake pads, calipers serviced New R1 chain & new sprockets New chain tensioner New 2011-2012 front & rear Mud guards Wheel tape Next, plans to change all adjusters on clutch & brakes to red anodized.
  23. I have been out on My beta Evo 3 times now & I am loving it. I really do have alot to learn though. I am already doing things that I really should not be doing ( am I moving to fast?). The problem is I am going out with friends that have more experiance & are challenging me to much( or are they?) I had a good day out yesterday but managed to break both front & rear mudguards. I seem to get away with hill climbs & general riding on tracks, but I am not very good at obsticals even small ones which need to get the front wheel up. Seem to be an absolute pro at getting my bike to climb up trees vertically, its when it comes down the problems start.LOL I know need to take my time but also build up confidence. Can anybody suggest what I should be learning first please. I do not want to be forking out £150.00 on plastics each time i go out.
  24. I took a guess that the Sprocket was on the wrong way around so I fitted it with the bolt heads in the recess & Thank you for confirming I made the right guess. Had the day out on the bike today & managed to Break the front & rear mudguards so that's another £153.00 to fork out. Good fun through.
