  1. hello, I found an used txt 250 (year 2006) in very good condition. Is there a huge difference between 250 engine power and the 280 /300 one? Consider that I would like to use it just for, sometimes hard, trail riding (now I've got a little Scorpa 125 4t). The owner asked me $4200... is it too much? p.
  2. No, they won't fit. But why would you want to? You can get the seat for the SY175, and it bolts right on. Much cheaper, and a lot more comfy. no problems for the seat, I need the bigger tank (5lt.), and the new one made for the TY 125 is ugly...
  3. does anybody know if the sy 250 (two strokes) long ride kit can fit into the sy 125?
  4. I think that the T-ride is a bit too heavy (95 kg) for me...
  5. hello there, is there a way to have less dumped front fork on the scorpa 125 4T? (I mean the paioli standard, not the settable one) I need a bit faster rebound. Maybe I could change the fork oil? how could it be done? Thanks
  6. a friend a mine saw it in a fair. he told me that it's a VERY VERY nice looking bike...
  7. hello, where is the oil filter on the scorpa 125 4T engine? how should I clean it? also, I've got some problems setting the magura hyd. clutch. it slips a little bit, especially when the engine is warm, so I tried to tweak that red setting screw, but it does not change anything.... any helps? Thanks
  8. yes, it's a nice game. another suggestion: if you want to ride trial on your mobile phone then take a look at this http://www.codebrew.se/gdtr/ there's a also a quite nice free demo
  9. hello, do you think that could be possible to use the sherco 3.2 4T as a LDT/trail bike (like a Beta Alp, I mean)? I see that (at least here in italy) there is an homologation kit, to be street legal. do you know if is there a photo of the bike with this kit, around there? I suppose that it could looks quite funny with light indicators... p.
  10. hello everybody, i found this on the italian scorpa site http://www.scorpa.it/pagina.php?codpag=notizie&notiziaID=61 strangely, there's nothing on the french one... anyway, (if you cannot read italian): - bigger tank (5 lt) - bigger seat - longer front fork (??) - new lock key - suspension protection (rear, I suppose) - new colors I think I'll order the bigger fuel tank (great, no more fuel bottles in the bag...), I hope that I can fit it on my 2005 model. any details about the longer fork? m.
  11. the user manual says: "Check the distance between the rubber chain-adjuster and the swinging arm as shown on the diagram. The distance must be bounded by 9 and 11 mm. Careful! There must not be any load on the bike, during the checks." seems that this method it works well with the bigger, unuseful sprocket (z14) but with the smaller one (z11) I can sometimes hear some..scaring noises coming from the sprocket, especially on steep hills... (stlak!) loosing it a lot the noise near the engine disappers, but of course I've other problems... trying to solve the mistery I noted the the upper rubber guide deviates the chain (near the engine) a bit too much for me using the 11 teeth spr. but maybe it's okay, I am just a stupid novice... m.
  12. sorry, another (quite) silly question... in which way I can set the -optimal- chain tension? (SY 125) I know this seems to be obvious but, actually, it is not: I read many hints/technique (including the one described in the user manual) and every one takes to a different chain tension... any side-effect if it's set too tight? thanks m.
  13. hello, I tried the whole sunday to make a front hop on my TY 125 (I mean "lifting and moving the front wheel on site" ), but when I was totally wet I realized that I can't do it with with the standard suspension... it's too hard for me, i'm not a wrestling champ (probably things change with the racing, settable one) does anybody of you tried it with success? any possibility to have a softer set (changing fork oil)? thanks p.
  14. hello, many of you talked about the "exhaust baffles" of the TY/SY 125. sorry for the...ignorance but what are them? is it better to remove them? how? and...is the "undo" operation possible? Thanks m.
  15. glenn, thank you very much. carb mods are too complicated for me... I'll do them later. I suppose that the easiest mod I can do is removing the exhaust baffles. but, ehm... where are them? m.
  16. nobody told me about these "recommended mods". (mhh, my retailer seems to know much better the sherco bikes...) I only mounted the exhaust system tube without the catalysator. where can I get info for other mods? m.
  17. I paid 4200 EUROS (+ 200 EUROS for the Magura clutch...) the price included all the taxes you need (I live in Italy, you can imagine the crazy mess of documents you need...) for having a number plate... m.
  18. thank you bvery much for your replies. as far as "the manual talks about 1000km. for run up" I understood what it means, what I tried to say in my unperfetct english is that they are so many kilometers for this type of bike (it's not a transalp or something...) what about the sprocket topic? any help? m.
  19. hello, some days ago I bought a TYS-125F (with hydraulic clutch). Just few questions from a newbie: - Together with the bike I got the smaller, z11 sprocket. I need to mount it, but I didn't found a real seeger in the packet, just a small (open), bronze colored ring. Do I have to use it for z11 sprocket mounting? - the bike does not start easy. I need 15, extremely tiring minutes to start the engine... is it notmal? - cannot find the idle set...where is it? and where is the air screw on the carburator? - the manual talks about 1000km. for run up. 1000 km???? so many weekends... sorry for the stupid questions, thank you for your attention... m.
  20. thanks very much for the replies. I know, ALP 2T is a nice bike for the usage I like, but it's rather difficult to find it. Pampera is very good too, but it's too similar to the ALP 4T. So, I decide to look for a new Scorpa TY 125 (or 175 if I'll get the extra money)... as I said, I'll mostly use it on "pseudo-trial" mountain paths, but I need to reach them after few kilometers of road, so, just a...stupid question for trial forum: what's the speed of the Scorpa on road? With my ALP 4T (mounting the Z12 sprocket), I can ride at, more or less, 85 Km/h (actually 90, but vibrations are incredible) I am sure Scorpa is much slower and, of course, I am ready to accept it, but how much? and what about the support for the ID plate? must I remove it every time I'll be off-road? Last point, someone suggested me the new Yamaha tricker XG 250... But I think it's too heavy (118 kg.) and, all in all, it looks like a trendy bike with a trial look. am I right? thank you for your attention, and sorry for my rather OT questions... m.
  21. hello, a question from a "newbie" from Italy... I've got a Beta ALP 200 4T, I use it in medium range tours on the mountains around my house (in tuscany). Sometime I find too hard obstacles so I would like to change the ALP with something closer to a trial bike... Anyway, I still need to use it also on street transferts, for some kilometers (it's easy to do it with the ALP 4T, which is not a real trial bike...) Scorpa TY 125 or 175 has a seat, and it can be street legal, is it a good choice for me? I also considerd the new Montesa Cota (with the seat+bigger tank kit), but it's a bit too expensive for me... m.
