  1. very nice My TLR250 is in the Rothmans red and the TLM260 will also be Rothmans red to match but if it turns up anywere near as good as these bikes i will be over the moon just mounted the motor back in the frame and headstock back on and waiting for some parts to arrive to be able to put it back togeather
  2. Just got a TLM260RF a few weeks ago but i have stripped it down to zero and the frame has just come back from the powder coaters so i only had chance for a 20min ride around the garden before the strip down. so can not give a real verdict yet but it went well, looks good to and will look better when finished. Can not say how the RTL goes as not yet got one but i have the TLR250 twinshock and thats my baby and main bike for this season but the TLM will get a run out at some time later when finished so i will give a report then
  3. As Woody says The 'proper' TLM260 with the double disks was an excellent bike, however, not a twinshock, so irrelevant. Honda never made a full size twinshock 2-stroke, only the tiddler. Thats what i said Mono shock and they were only made for the Japan market so not many ended abroad and mine is a import from Japan 15 years ago and has been in storage for 13 years but its a good bike to look at and ride Woody has made a good case for must twinshockers so you can pick which will be your bike as we are all individuals and the choice is down to each of us but if you look for a good clean bike that has been looked after you will not go far wrong as all twinshockers will cost money if they have not been looked after as parts are not cheap and soon add up 3k for a standard TLR250 high prices in the UK
  4. Hi Adrian Lots of clubs around you ,Richmond , Darlington, Weardale, Middlesbrough and most will have some twinshocks at there events I used to live in Darlo before i moved to Oz and rode at most club events all a good bunch of lads As for what twinshock to get there are a few depending on what you like at the time and all can do the job as its more down to the rider (ty175,ty250,fantic200,fantic240 ,TLR250, TLR200 My fav is the TLR250 which i got for this season and it just feels right as soon as i rode it so its more about how you feel when you try the bike Also picked up a TLM260 rf mono shock which is in bits right now but ran well when i rode it and should be back togeather in a month and they were suppost to be a well sorted bike so dont know what cleanorbust is on about So pick a nice clean bike and enjoy Mike
  5. all the talk about stop/no stop, watch a real trials rider in action man and machine as one
  6. ended up ordering white plastic for mine from In Motion Trials with the Montesa logo on them but as it had a TY mudguard fitted to it before the strip down i have not got a bracket to fit it to the frount forks. what type of bracket is used to fix yours

  9. Brakes As you have said earlyer the secret is buy the HONDA as i can lock my frount and back wheel with its brakes but it will be interesting to see how the Monty brakes match up when i finish rebuilding the 247 cota over christmas Part of the fun is droping off a bank and guessing if you will stop in time to turn before you hit the tape, unless you ride a honda then you know you will stop keep up the tinkering as i may need help with the monty brakes
  10. how many cc of fork oil and weight did you find worked best thanks
  11. Hi all Looking at putting a few parts on the TLR and wondered if its worth fitting a power bomb frount exhaust pipe, has anybody else fitted one and was there any difference or is there any other mod which i should do first. shocks fitted to to rear lowered footrests apart from the 2 mods above the bike is standard Thanks Mike
  12. allways wanted the TLR so was a bit worried as to what i had bought but it all seems good as it has the fuel tap as andy says and looks good so as you say time to just ride the bike and have some fun starting tomorrow morning thanks to all
  13. Here are are a couple of pictures of the bike, it looks nothing like the XR200R engine or frame.

    Tlr250

Hi all Just got a TLR250? I have checked the bike over and it looks just like a TLR250 but for the engine and frame numbers which i read on a honda site should start ME07-********* but on the bike i have it starts ME04-""""""" on both the frame and engine and i can not find a bike listed which starts with these numbers so if anybody has any idear as to why the numbers are not as listed it would help Thanks
