You know I am bias, but I personally think the close ups and music are great as a contrast, you guys are so hard to please, too zoomed in, don't like the music, old git(well that's correct) he is 44! And Ham has turned Finny into laia haha I am surprised anyone makes videos these days?
Those darn 180 degree hops he does from stand still always amaze me 1:56 so effortless, he was doing them on the 1992 beta zero video I posted here.
-
Got this from his facebook fanpage, left over footage from last video.

He can still show the young, flare and style cannot be taught, i just found this new video on Jason's facebook fanpage, he said select HD to watch it in full screen. thought i would share it with you guys.
-
Yes I could see your bike was a Gara, it was just your rear mudguard is Silver and there was never a Silver Mudguard made, unless its been sprayed silver? a NOS set of Plastics, they have got to be worth big ££££ let us know how you get on with the bike! Great Find.
-
that is a really clean Zero, silver plastics? what year used those, 1990' red, 91' black, 92' purple, 93' was the Gara Model, silver front Mudgaurd and radiator cover, so it looks like your bike was the 93' Gara (Zero) just the rear mudguard that is throwing me, anyone know?
-
I never rode the beta zero, i did ride the tr34 that looked a lot smaller in comparison to the zero, unreal what these guys did with these bikes, the size, cable clutch! Im sure these bikes will be very collectible in the near future!
-
I just came across this video Via Jason's New facebook fanpage, I had to watch it several times to take in some of the stuff he was doing on a 20 year old bike, the 180 hop from stand still at the end looks so effortless, not seen any rider do it today on a modern bike let alone back then.
-
Lol could have done with that grand!!!
-
Baldilocks, I think your right haha, got carried away on that one, the wife has made me like that, got to blame someone so why not her!
-
Bou is the biggest paid rider at the moment and I'm sure it's not about the money with him, I bet you if enduro offered him millions now he would not go, the guy has one motivation now, doing 8 championships to secure him of being the greatest trials rider ever, even though he is now. His dedication to his sport is far superior than any other rider! Other trials riders that have gone enduro have not been quite at the top at the time or come to the end of their career.
-
Nigel your on, another £1000 in my pension fund, at 26 he will do at least another 3 world championships, that's if they don't ban four strokes or hopping on the back wheel or some other crap rule that they come up with to try and stop bou!
Nigel yes, but what was the end scores, yes dibs was leading after second lap and finished 5th, bou finished 5 clear of second place and 15 in front of James
1. Toni Bou - 22 - WORLD CHAMPION
2. Albert Cabestany - 27
3. Adam Raga - 28
4. Jeroni Fajardo - 36
5. James Dabill - 37
6. Takahisa Fujinami - 45
7. Michael Brown - 66
8. Loris Gubian - 67
9. Alexandre Ferrer - 69
10. Matteo Grattarola - 89
-
Yes bou's bikes are very special, I think they are that special to make them equal to a 2 stroke, so if bou swapped with let's say Adam, he would maybe doing more, I think Adam would struggle on the mont compared to bou, remember bou was winning indoor event on his beta!
-
I am glad Toni done it, if he lost his championship it would have been one of the biggest rip offs in trials history with those diabolical new rules that cannot justify a true result, he has another few years of titles to come, at least ten outdoor titles I would say, the greatest trials rider ever, how many titles has he won indoors?
-
Nice editing there, I like the music, when they advertise football they do that with music to make it sound more impressive, music is a lifestyle, music is constant in films even when actors are talking!
Nice job man
-
The Filmaker is the star of this clip, the lighting, music is fantastic, was hoping to see Mr Dupont doing something different
-
Arrogant? I dont think he was arrogant, thats a big statement to make on a comment, so no one is allowed to have an opinion then? retrotrials asked jason what he thought, so does he lie or say what he thinks, I must agree with Jason in some part, so what has Mr Dupont devoloped? the way I read it was that he thought the Look "Grunge" was not in keeping and good for Trials.
-
quote from Jason Finn's retro trials interview says it all too
What do you think of the Urban Freestyle
I better choose my words carefully here, whats the point on wearing a motocross helmet, doing motocross style jumps and riding a Trials Bike? I don't understand, next we will have riders wearing leathers on a Trials Bike riding super moto? I don't like the grunge scruffy look of it either, and I see a lot of youtube videos of people that have gone out, bought a bike, some long shorts, boots and a motocross helmet and riding on the roads trying to emulate what they have seen and cannot ride to save their lives. I suppose all the locations and back drops make up for the lack of ability and its taking away the great presentations that trials has become.
-
I think we may have had our wires Crossed, what I was saying was let the riders decide what rules "Stop" or "None Stop" and yes the riders should be the only ones having the opinion because they are the ones riding, not John who rode trials back in 1905, regarding observers, its very hard for them under the new rules thats what I am saying, Observers give their time up to do this, Observers are the last people I am dissing my friend!
-
Studying, you have answered my question for me, here is this, put 10 people in separate rooms and get them to watch a video of a top rider under the new rules, I bet that their scores are all over the place, next get them to watch a video under old rules, I bet my life that all have near on the same scores!! I rest my case, None Stop Dont Work!!
-
Thats brilliant, never seen that before, I thought the stuntman must have been Jean Pierre-Goy, Mike Bast was Mint!! Thanks for sharing.
-
Did I mention observers? dont remember that!! and where did you get the Riders Deciding what scores they have?, I think you must have been reading some other post?
I loved watching the World Championship Trials, now the pleasure has gone, as I am studying if they stop or not and looking what marks the observer has given, cannot concerntrate on the beauty that it once was, Top rider also get away with a lot more in the new rules as observers are scared of giving them a 5 where a lesser rider would be.
Sport moves on from generation to generation, things progress and so do rules, Riders of "TODAY" should decide, people who rode twin shock can still do twin shock trials today, air cooled, pre65, etc. we are talking about today Modernday Trials, the old format worked, Bike sales decline is nothing to do with what rules are in place, there are different Trials which cater for all as stated! So when it comes to "INDOORS" will it be "none stop" NO! so they have condradicted themselves, Just go back to how it was.
-
The more time that goes on with this No Stop lark the more of a proper "Bulls Up" it has all become, those guys Michaud and clan are throwing Trials in the trash, the first round with Fugi winning was laughable after watching him stop 8 times in one section, the results show you how it dont work, the riders are all over the place with results, OK its settling down a little, but come on, how can a few old farts decide whats good for the sport? let the riders decide.
-
They are great bikes, but heavy when a beginner would do better on a lighter bike.
-
He is to me too, I love the riding style of that time by only a couple of riders though, over the years this sort of style has deminished although the riders of today are out of this world, the flamboyant body movements have gone, this could be to having to do more with the heavy bikes and suspension? or maybe it was just his style.
-
A nice strong montesa 315r would be the best bet for an older bike, its got to be the most robust and reliable 2 stroke at that money, and it a great bike, i had the 1997 model only, That was fantastic!
