  1. I cant see them needing to buy Gas Gas to do this!
  2. Chris wont be selling you an electric then lol!
  3. They will soon find a buyer now. Nobody in their right mind would take all that debt on.
  4. I would think that electric would be the way they would go.
  5. Ì don't think a lot of stolen bikes are used in organised trials. There are a lot more bikes used to play about on by riders who would never enter a trial.
  6. Is it just the power of the internet that we get to hear about them or is there a lot of bikes getting stolen nowadays?
  7. Lovely bikes to ride but marmite sums them up!
  8. Usual mistake with people new to the sport is putting too much air in. Going from 4 to 5 makes a big difference! Most experienced riders will notice quite easily. And going down to 3 will make a hell of a difference when it's really slippy. As for the front anything above 6 would be too much for me. Quite often you see well meaning parents putting 4 in the rear for their child who weighs 6 stone when really 2 psi would be better. I know one child who runs less than 1psi.
  9. Osset have transformed the youth trials scene. The main thing is that the child can play about in the garden without bothering the neighbours.
  10. I was told about this website and mobile app. I think it could be very useful for directions in the trials world. Basically it has the world mapped into 10 metre squares and each has a unique name made of 3 names. Eg car.plaster.spade You give that name and tap it in the app and the location is shown on a map. It will locate a gate on a country lane where a postcode could be a long way out. It could even be used to identify exactly where an individual section is located in a wood etc.
  11. It's the opposite here. A local club official asked me why they are getting very poor entries lately. They have been making their trials easier to attract beginners which worked for a while. Then the beginners got bored with the poor sections and went elsewhere. The good riders had already given up so they are struggling now.
  12. I feel it's down to cost nowadays. We do a lot of nationals. It's now £25 entry for most. Fuel for van and bike say £60. That's just the basics so you are easily over £100 per national. Then the British championship has become a 2 day affair to add even more cost. But the main thing is there's virtually one big event every weekend!!! so I think riders are becoming more selective. These young riders have family lives to fit in as well.
  13. Excellent to see. I think the electric bikes have given trials a real boost. The main issue for trials is that there are just too many events and championships on throughout the year and not enough observers to go round.

I can't see how you can have "a game changer". The basics of any trials bike have to be similar to stay in the rules. There can only be very small changes. As regards James Dabill he is consistently in the top 10 of the world championship and wins virtually everything he enters in the UK. To get much better isn't going to be down to the bike.
  15. At least the sign writing will be cheap. Only need a J.
  16. Vodafone helping him now I think.

    Tyres

Hi. The pressure most run is 4 in the back and 6 in the front. This can vary down to 2 and perhaps up to 6 if a heavy rider. Southern riders will be running very low pressures in winter mud especially. Riding in situations where the edges of the rocks are sharp can lead to cuts in your sidewalls so a bit more air will help prevent damage. Getting over 4 psi really gets noticeable in slippy conditions. Also running with a tube reduces the flex in the rubber and reduces grip.
  18. Raga is being helped by the Top Trial Team to finish the season.

I think 7 psi in the rear will help prevent the issue but that pressure is totally useless for trials.

I tried that but still couldn't rely on it.
  21. Would be interesting to see what budget is needed to run a world championship team. I'm guessing it is a hell of a lot. Will the increase in sales be enough to cover it or perhaps would it be better to not bother with the world championship and be in a position to sell a cheaper bike.
  22. He has been earning good money for many years. Surely he hasn't spent it all.
  23. Very true. There is always the pressure to continually expand a business but you only have to look at Jotagas for an example of a bad business model. Only last year I saw pictures of their marketing team in South America promoting the product! Tarres wanted the company to walk before it started running. If that had happened how different the future of the company would probably of been. If Gas Gas gets going again and just sticks to what it does best producing limited quantities it will thrive.
  24. I would guess that the vast majority of vehicles have never had the brake fluid changed. I had a tractor serviced by a main dealer and the mechanic drained the coolant and replaced it. Only a year old. I was devastated!
